i hope he takes a break cuz he's been working hard for so long. but does jianci know what a break is? haha. filming…
yup even just a week is good. someone tell jianci that! lol i feel sad whenever he tells xiaotanhuos to rest and take care of themselves, cuz it's like, well what about you, jianci? it must be even harder for him since he's not only an actor but also a singer/dancer.
i hope he takes a break cuz he's been working hard for so long. but does jianci know what a break is? haha. filming…
true 😭 i'm also in the same boat here, rewatching my favs over and over again. but if it's for tan jianci's health, i'm willing to accept a jianci drama slump!
I don't think jianci is starting to shoot any drama next month. Even when he was going to start shooting his movie,…
i hope he takes a break cuz he's been working hard for so long. but does jianci know what a break is? haha. filming hi6 and promoting brands sounds less strenuous than filming a drama or movie though
Can someone tell me the name of the instrumental music that plays in ep. 32 when Su ChengCheng and Tang Qi are…
the bgm is called《滤镜手镯魔法主题》(magical filter bracelet theme).
it's really hard to access filter's full soundtrack since they seemingly only uploaded it on qq music. thankfully someone shared that specific bgm on xiaohongshu/red note: http://xhslink.com/a/5ljtJS2c28fab
there's so much i have to say about this movie but idk how to word it all (sorry that this comes off as a rant) (btw this comment has MAJOR SPOILERS so you better close this comment rn if you're planning to watch this!)
i watched this because of the ost "red scarf" / "if possible" (如果可以). it's so popular that i wanted to see how the movie it came from was like.
first 35 minutes or so were really confusing and boring ngl i almost dropped but glad i didn't! the story finally picked up when we got to ah lun's backstory.
the mix of multiple genres (comedy, romance, angst, and even horror) gave me whiplash but at the same, i kinda like it? it ties well into the movie's past lives / reincarnation aspect; you're not gonna be the same person and experience the same thing in all your lives (ex: xiaomi) so it makes sense to include all those genres here.
about the end - i'm upset that ah lun wasn't tied with xiaomi in his next life. why suddenly push the ah lun and pinky ship when throughout the entire movie, we saw how much he loved xiaomi? his love for her was so strong that even the absence of a red string couldn't stop him from pursuing her! pinky was always just a platonic friend to him. but considering how xiaomi is already tied with someone else (i forgot his name), i guess it makes sense for ah lun to find someone else too. after all, he wanted xiaomi to stay alive and happy with someone, even if that meant it wasn't him... 💔
now the more positive:
i loved the plot twists and how the seemingly insignificant/comical details turned out to be critical later. like xiaomi's gift in seeing ghosts or her past life relating to ghost head? or one of ah lun's past reincarnations being a cicada? sounds funny at first but then we find out it plays a major role in solving the story's main problem. i never saw that coming!
i applaud kai ko. he did a good job in his role as ah lun, from the emotional scenes to the quirky boy in love.
overall, a nice watch and unique story. i give it a 8/10! (most points taken off because of that first 35 mins)
oh, another one who fell victim to xiang liu ;D welcome aboard! we share many similar thoughts.
i also went from liking ye shiqi to loving xiang liu. as you had mentioned, jing didn't do anything at all to protect the person he claimed to love (except for ensuring his love rival wouldn't take her away coughcough). it makes me wanna laugh whenever i think about xiao yao doing all the work in solving his fiancee and brother situation, something that he himself didn't do all those years.
i'm also upset she didn't end up with xiang liu but at the same time, i feel like this really was the best ending for them. xiao yao wanted somebody to be with her forever, jing wanted to be with xiao yao forever, and xiang liu wanted xiao yao to be happy forever. they all got what they wanted. knowing that they both at least loved each other, whether they acknowledged it or not, is enough for me.
This is why he is my favourite actor, there are a lot of good looking actors who show just one facial expression…
agree! good looks can't save bad acting, unfortunately ;D tan jianci is on a a whole different level. i like how he doesn't typecast himself by choosing different characters and genres. i haven't watched the centimeter of love but i've seen many clips, and his acting as the naughty/reckless kid, as well as the emotional crying scenes, were really well done.
some dramas release a duet ost sung by the main leads’ actor/actress. we’ve seen examples of this in:- goodbye…
song aside, just focusing on the singers: i like to interpret zhang zining and hu xia’s version as a representation of yaojing’s relationship, and yang zi and tan jianci’s version as yaoliu’s relationship.
because zhang zining and hu xia’s version is sung by professional singers rather than the actors, it creates a sense of distance, like a general love song that would suit any couple. that’s how i view yaojing; two people who just so happened to end up together in this lifetime, whose feelings could’ve easily faded away like a dream if they never chose and stuck with each other.
yang zi and tan jianci’s version, on the other hand, gives out an entirely different feeling. when the actors sing together, it feels like an extension of their characters’ soul, thus making it not just a song but also a raw confession by yaoliu. they're soulmates who love each other in every lifetime, not just this one. *the* pairing, not just *a* pairing. although they don’t end up together and a long time passes, the feelings they had for each other remain unforgettable.
(i’ve been on an MDL comment spree lately for some reason. sorry to anyone who is annoyed 🤣 and sorry for any grammatical errors i'm writing aimlessly)
some dramas release a duet ost sung by the main leads’ actor/actress. we’ve seen examples of this in:
- goodbye my princess:《初见》(first encounter) by chen xingxu and peng xiaoran - the untamed:《无羁》(unrestrained) by xiao zhan and wang yibo - ashes of love:《天地无霜》(unparalleled in the world) by yang zi and deng lun - falling into your smile:《第一默契》(soulmate) by xu kai and cheng xiao - the princess weiyoung:《天赋》(heavenly gift) by tiffany tang and luo jin - love between fairy and devil:《想和你》(want to be with you) by dylan wang and esther yu - the myth 2005:《美丽的神话》(endless love/beautiful myth) by jackie chan and kim hee sun
however, unlike the aforementioned dramas, the characters played by yang zi and tan jianci in lost you forever (xiao yao and xiang liu) never officially pursued a romantic relationship with each other, so why were they given an ost? why not yang zi and zhang wan yi, who played the first male lead cang xuan gege that xiao yao cared for so deeply, or yang zi and deng wei, who played the second male lead tushan jing that xiao yao ended up marrying?
if xiao yao and xiang liu are truly just friends, then there’s no need to have them sing such an emotional duet (not to mention, when the other “more appropriate” male leads were given nothing). the fact that they did means their relationship is something more than just friends.
and yes, they played this song during yaojing scenes also, which is open for interpretation. but just know that the official mv is of yaoliu and that the lyrics clearly speak to yaoliu. https://youtu.be/X-gM6v2msmk?si=w6LNNNElOdngR4fj

by the time this drama is officially released, will we get 200k? immortality and till the end of the moon have some competition!
