After the director gave Han Sun Hwa’s character description that she is obsessed with money, power, and fame, it doesn’t look like she is searching for love at all, at least I wouldn’t call it love for anyone other than herself. In the teaser poster and still cuts, she is with or around Ji Chang Wook, while in the production diary, she is with Son Ye Jin and the girl playing Lee So Ok. So since Sun Hwa is playing negative role, to me, it feels like she will be playing both sides—making Ji Chang Wook feel like she is on his side while also making Ye Jin feel like she is on her side.
Did they reveal anything releted to Han Sun Hwa's mystery character or avoided mentioning her character to not…
Just now I read news articles and the director mentioned Han Sun hwa and said she is playing a money and fame obsessed woman in the drama. So it's like a villain negative role right?
There are 2 possibilities: they are keeping her as a surprise..maybe she is related to an imp plot point..or she…
Yes the second option is possible too because the media announces them in the cast list to create buzz but sometimes the actors end up in non-pivotal roles or cameo appearances. This happened with Sung Dong Il and Kim Dong Wook in We Are All Trying Here.
A trailer is supposed to tease the story and build anticipation, but this feels like watching same 2003 Untold Scandal, just with a new cast. At least they should reveal the character of Han Sun Hwa with that huge hair bun. Last year Korean media released her casting news as original mystery role, at least use her face to build intrigue. Let people discuss who is this new character and what new layer will she add. Netflix’s promotional tactic for The Scandal sucks. I'm not just expecting it to be a great drama, but I also want a lot of people to watch. I don't want it to go to the underrated drama category.
Oh My my looks like Nana has got two lovers in this adaptation. And the three Haengsu Gisaeng /kisaeng women sitting on the floor and the one kind of spying on them in the Ji Chang Wook poster, those hairstyles with heavy big bun match with the shadow pictures Han Sun hwa posted last year on her Instagram. And all these women are exuding confidence, poised authority. Now coming to Lee So ok, in previous adaptations she was teenage and young and timid and vulnerable. Lee So ok actress must be somewhere around Chani's age. I felt we got the glimpse of a young girl in green-red hanbok in the teaser. Anyways the teaser looks fresh and seems like we will see a lot of interactions between different characters we had not seen in previous adaptations. Now Waiting for the trailer!
The action scenes were great. The action scenes must have delivered great cinematic value in the theatres for the audience watching it with popcorn and cold drinks. Acting was really good. Actors put life into the characters. But the story was so-so. It didn't live up to the hype. People watching it for story, depth, biological sense, zoological sense, closure, and logic will be disappointed. Maybe we will get a sequel... let's wait for the announcement.
As a rule, Korean A-list actresses don't do nudity, so its very unlikely she will strip for this role.
You’re talking about something from 5 years ago; I’ll give you a recent anecdote about Sun Hwa. You know how, in dramas, the first peck scene is usually very light, just to give the characters that initial shock? Well, just to film that peck scene, Sun Hwa drank a full can of beer to get the confidence to do it 😂. And when the drama aired, she proudly posted her kiss scenes on her IG story like "Hey I successfully managed to do it". That's why I will be more excited to see the bts if she actually has nude scenes. Han Sun Hwa is intellectually liberated, but physically inhibited.
han sun hwa likely playing the the character So-ok, only make senses thats the only character with screen time…
Can't say if she has nude scenes or not until and unless her character is revealed. Nevertheless, if she really has nude scenes, it would be really shocking to see Sun hwa doing that in the drama because she is scared of even doing peck scenes. She is scared to such an extent that she can leave lead characters which have extreme passionate intimate plot. She has often rejected those kind of lead roles offered to her. You can watch her filmography. Sun Hwa maintains strict physical proximity boundary while filming intimate scenes. She rarely does kissing scenes with her co-stars, and even then, only if she's physically very comfortable with the co-star. Most of the time she has one or two kiss scenes in a project. The only project she had multiple kiss scenes and constant skinship was in 2024 drama My Sweet Mobster, but that was also because she had already played love interest of her co-star Um Tae Goo in a 2019 drama. And wasn't So-ok a 16 years old teen girl? Han Sun Hwa is almost 36 years old, so my guess is that she is playing a wildcard character in the show.
I looked at the page, and it says Q3, there is no any specific date. Maybe be they re-edited it again.Well, sometimes…
The Korean Namuwiki page is updated first, and it usually takes some time for the English page to catch up. What you see on the English Namuwiki is incorporated from the Korean page/version.

I know right! It is so exciting. When the casting news dropped, it was so huge. But the production team has still kept Sun Hwa's character a mystery. All other actors' roles have been revealed but Sun Hwa's character has been mentioned as original charcter (not found in previous adaptations) in Wikipedia. I keep visiting this page just to get an update but her character has still been labeled as unknown.
I just finished all the 4 seasons recently and started searching if there's a Season 5. Then of course I found the page for season 5 but damn, people have been commenting on this page for 5 years now and there's still no update. Poor me thinking today I'll start season 5 😭.
Mi Ran & Eun A! The best step sisters ever. Sisterhood built on love and respect, where jealousy never had the chance to come between us. Rooting for Actresses Han Sun Hwa and Go Youn Jung.
I loved the drama. I know that some of you are complaining that the story is simple and predictable but when I watch a horror film or drama, for me it is really important that the project is highly atmospheric, the focus strictly remains on the horror, suspense, the physical threats of the ghosts or evil creatures, and most importantly the actors' acting to keep me engaged, and I give this 💯 because it clicked all my listed parameters.
