(ep 40) can't believe she's giving the whale analogy of how lying to her is like whale eating plastic. ma'am you were the one who suggested to keep your relationship a secret. you were the one who kept introducing the SML as your bf whenever situations got uncomfortable for you. you were the one who kept denying your feelings of jealousy and anger. and now, youre gonna go ahead and say you dont like lying? a little hypocritical, if you ask me.
I actually thought this drama was more realistic in terms of everything else besides the age gap situation. If…
I think your comment is so because you're still on ep 21. till ep 24-25, i didnt find the FL frustrating at all. i understood her decisions and even empathized with them cuz i myself would have taken the same decisions too given the situations. it's the continual of bad decision making and the immaturity she keeps showing for a thirty year old... and the events that would further take place that is making it frustrating for me.
I have seen dramas with frustrating characters. Both Something in the Rain and One Spring Night are my all time favourites in spite of how so many people call these dramas frustrating and hate the FLs in them. I always could understand those characters. but He Fanxing, i can't understand. i would explain what frustrates me, but that'd be a spoiler.
sorry for the long reply, and i hope you keep enjoying the drama :)
this drama is so disappointing tbh. it had such a great concept of a looked down upon 10 year age gap. it could have made it about the struggles and could have commented on society's hypocrisy. but no, it choose to be yet another love triangle with the most irritating second male lead to exist and the dumbest, frustrating female lead to exist. i only feel bad for yuan song, and i like and enjoy the FL's brother's and friends' storylines wayyyyyyyyyyy more
can't believe how we all were so sure that hyunyi is a cross dressing character, and would be revealed to be a biological female. but the show really went on and gave us trans rep! omg! I LOVE THIS!
so basically da mi's character is athletic, gets good grades, is musically talented, and does art. with an iq of 162. she's basically playing her role from 'the witch' again, ahaha!
in ep 8, she was on the mountain and the helicopter flew away. then cut to her being in the helicopter, then cut to them dying and her panicking ... i'm not saying quick cuts are bad. in fact i love them. but give enough pauses and information, if youre gonna change the scenes so quickly. it was sooo messy.
i wanna add Age of Youth. All the female leads were strong, just in different ways. I can't imagin an article about strong female characters was written without them being mentioned... but i guess its because the show isnt exactly rom-com (?)
The first episode was meh for me... i saw all the "surprises" coming, they were quite obvious. nothing caught me off-guard. in fact, i was bored a lot. But the characters (who we have not been introduced to yet) look so cool, I want this show to surprise me with good content. Fingers crossed.
The difference in the way this "scandal" is written on her profile vs how it is, somehow, politely reported in his profile are kinda making me mad. if it's a scandal on her profile, it should be worded the same way on his too.
