Ep 40 death scene was well done and pulled at my heartstrings. That being said, they put too many flashbacks scenes. I'd rather see the scene than have it cut up by a lot of flashbacks.

It also feels a bit repetitive. He almost dies before in episode 27, this episode he appears to her and turns into a dragon, he appears to her and disappears, she tries to save him next episode and he turns into an egg. Too much. I wonder if they'll do the same with her death or if they'll do it rushingly and just have one scene of her disappearing.

There is something about the way they filmed his "death" that took me out of it. I'm unsure if it is because of it being too long, especially her begging, or if it is something else. It just felt stiff or awkward. And the whole flashbacks afterwards and he comes and speaks to her before disappearing from her is just too much and his death too drawn out. He already appeared before her why do it again. Especially because we all know he'll be fine in a couple episodes. They try so hard to make it emotional and dramatic but it falls flat to me.

When I say "betray her," I'm referring to him stabbing her earlier and her being scared of him and him chasing after her. I know he didn't actually betray her. I do not like the Nine Stars plot at all.

I guess you can see it as consistency of character but it just feels like another added trope on top of him "betraying her" and having to ask for forgiveness. It's just hard for me to let go of the novel. BXS didn't exist so it just never would have happened this way.

I'm confused, is that not what I wrote? It would have been logical for him to give YH HPS after he cuts the black flower, but they decided to make it emotional instead and him a noble idiot. If he didn't do it just for her to be free and "happy", than he is too self-sacrificing and thick.

I get what you're saying. But to me, they decided to not do the logical route, which is TY giving HPS to YH, just to get an emotional scene. I understand it shows he is willing to sacrifice himself, but he clearly doesn't need to because of HPS. Maybe if it was a scenario where there wasn't such a clear answer. Which is partly why I said the plot line feels messy. And if TY didn't want to give the HPS to YH because he wants her to be free, he is too self-sacrificing.

Perhaps, but even so, judging from the spoilers she looks like she at least thinks he dies at first. Just like in ep. 27 she thinks he dies when he didn't.

I dislike the whole life-exchange spell thing and seeing how he is going to actually die in just a few episodes it seems to me a little redundant. I feel like the plot line is more convoluted and messy with all this added stuff. I wish I never read the novel because its really making it hard for me to like this with all the changes.

Thanks for letting me know. It seems they are adding a lot that didn't happen in the novel. I just hope they put these two parts from the novel in the show.

Does anyone know if these two parts from the book happened in the show? From what I remember, one is right after Tian Yao got his dragon heart, Yan Hui is buried in rubble. And the other is when Su Ying lied to Tian Yao and said Yan Hui is dead

I wish they just kept the storyline from the novel

What was 2nd CP ending? Did one of them die in the end?
