I respect your opinion, but I think without the humour it would become a boring drama and a singular genre of just melo. This way its mixed genres - melo, drama, comedy, family, business, life. I doubt people could sit through people being in office all episode and no humour. Its also not pointless forced hunour - these people are survive by laughing and trying to smile. The comedic elements are supposed to cut away the emotional heaviness of such a deep topic resonating throughout.
Regarding ideas - if you mean ML. The ep2 was purely his instincts from what his mum said. And this episode his one idea the example he gave was from domestic tulips - which is a valid experience he had with his nursery.
Jang Hyun is the writer. There was an article that she said won a writing competition with this script. Not sure how big this competition is though or if it means anything.

@SWin whatchu saying. The Red Sleeve was 17.4% ! A smash hit and gained him critical acclaim and respect with general public! It would've been a far greater hit if it was on Netflix, but that wasn't a thing back then. And it was before LATAM really joined in like how they are a big market right now. That got him a Baeksang and almost all awards of 2022. King the Land at 13.7%, first on Netflix - served as a project for international popularity which it achieved. But it wasn't loved in Korea, intl side liked it mostly.
And this time he has gone towards showing a different role and genre. Building that filmography and not being typecasted either. He wants to show his skills. I think his fans are realistic and not expecting global Netflix numbers. I know some other drama fans want to shade on Netflix numbers game and add pressure, but we really aren't focused on that. We just want praise for his acting skills (on krn side esp). Anything else is truly a bonus. 🙏

Yea coz the 'orange tribe' youth were known to hang out at Apgujeong/Gangnam - go to clubs, drive sports cars, live lavishly, and showing off their wealth and status. The core of orange tribe was ofcourse wearing high-end foreign brands. Emporio Armani was the mass produced cheaper brand so not that one, but Giorgio Armani - the main line - high-end boutique one hahahaha. Taepoong wanted that to be clear LOL.

I just want to add that the ML styling, article came out last week that Junho paid for the wardrobe himself. Anything beyond the budget tvn had, came from him. To really show the visual vibes of that era etc. Being in "Apgujeong orange tribe" meant you walked around wearing "designer wear" etc.
I'm only dropping Junho's vlog here because it has 5 actors learning choreo and practising the club dance scene. 🔥 And Junho's an idol too.
And they're calling it "home videos" "tape" coz thats what it was called back then. 😂 The last full performance - they called it "Apstreet boys Fancam" 😂

If you're a fan of him, watch it. I'm hooked to how loyal he is and the bromance is giving. He shows alot of his own personal skills from superstar K3 audition days? The dancing and singing. Its the characters' dream to be a singer as well. And I think there is romance between him and FL sister.
Ep2 had me bawling from the onset to the end. Much tighter plot and pacing in ep2. The emotional elements were good and with the right amount of comedic relief. Didn't drag this episode.
People generally rate after seeing one episode. Then they reduce or increase it later as the episodes continue…
If it was fans of his, it would be 10 right now, I can point you in the direction of some other dramas where that has happened.
Looking at the currently watching lists of some accounts here, rating 10 based on 1-2 ep of other shows they like. Its what happens, you rate each ep as you watch, so ofcourse some are keen and rating high or low etc. Its also MDL, its either really low or really high. This is not what bombing the ratings looks like. 8.3 is actually quite normal.
