I love this drama! I laughed and blushed when Feng Yue acted jealous of his younger self then kissed Bai Shuo to show her the difference between when it's him (a full confident demon king ) and when it's Mu (a innocent sweet young man). Chill Feng Yue, she loves both side of you! But you can continue to kiss her like that, I won't complain.
i guess that the demon of the cold palace fu ling is the lost sister of bai shuo..
Considering her sister left with an eternals, that we don't know what happened and that the demon of the cold palace is the only other female characrers of the story (except ML's bodyguard but we know her background), it's logic to think that. They didn't even try to mislead us by giving us other character to suspect of that.
@mimi0108 You’re very observant .Although the drama is different from the novel you have most of the points…
Thanks! Can't wait to have the whole picture. Yeah, DJ only likes ML. I was talking about her friend who was at the wedding too and in front of SML at table. She has the same body and type of face that Deng Man and could be disguise herself as Deng Man to scare FL. I'm not good with names. Who's Liu Yu Jie? Is she DJ's friend I was talking about? The girl I suspect to be posing as Deng Man?
did the ML completely forget that the FL just dumped him for something that is not his fault? or was it noble…
He understands she still loves him and there's a reason she can't talk about their break up. He loves her enough and fell her love enough to not pursue this further. They were young.
ML's childhood friend (the one who paid the stalker to compromise FL) seems to be terrified of SML. To me, SML is a psycho who must have done dark things in college. It's obvious FL's best friend from college was threatened to break up the young couple and her suicide is probably murder. When FL's other friend from college is escorted home, with her husband, by SML, she has the misfortune to say that losing her best friend pushed FL into such distress she broke up with ML. Which, in my opinion, made SML understand FL had to go through the same thing to get her to move away from ML again. My theory on who the girl pretending to be Deng Man could be: SML's admirer since college. The focus is on her in episode 3 and then nothing. She is friends with the other girl (who is in love with the ML) and in love with the SML. Maybe she is a psycho ready to do anything to please him. Which would explain why she was ready to kill the stalker (maybe to protect her friend) and killed FL's best friend to push her into the arms of the SML. I don't know if she works alone or if she is under the orders of the SML. We'll see...
Since he forced her to marry him and she wasn't in love with him, it's coerced sex yes. Later, when their relation fall apart big time, he even paid her for having sex with him and they both hate/resent each other. It's really toxic.
I just finished episode 3 and OMG!!! I thought, based on the ML's reaction when she accidentally falls on him and kisses him, that they had never been intimate. But in fact yes and she even aborted their child. It's awful!! How can we cope with the fact the FL was forced into marriage and suffered marital rape? I'm so pissed, nothing can redeem ML. And I find the choice to start the story halfway bad because all the important stuff happened before and bits of flashbacks won't do justice to what happened.
So well expounded giving that glimmer of hope to me that she aint that shallow... although she didnt know about…
I'm glad if my comment was able to reassure you a little. More than once XY has shown XL she is giving him a chance (by letting him a chance to kiss her underwater, by telling him she will agree to follow him if he abandons his responsibilities or that 'she would have liked to save him in the arena in order to allow him to live free, by asking him who she should marry other than FFL). She wouldn't do all this if she didn't know there was a reciprocity of feelings on his side. But their relationship is full of unsaid or hurtful words to hide their true thoughts/feelings. Each is aware of the other's feelings. Each is aware that hurtful words are often an armor. But both still takes each hurtful action/word personally because: - it's a way to prevent themselves from indulging in any romance between them that they know is impossible; - it fuels mutual anger they had to each other precisely because of this inability to show their true thoughts.
I've been crying non-stop for several hours watching the latest episodes. Superb performance from the cast. I wasn't as carried away by this season as the first but there were some very beautiful moments nonetheless.
I'm too mentally exhausted to analyze the entire season byt I would like to talk about about XY & XL:
Like some, I would have liked to see XY cry more over XL's death. BUT I think her reaction makes sense: she always tried to contain and deny her love for him. She loved XL in silence for a century, it makes sense for her to mourn him silently (even if we see that it's painful). As for her words, as with everything related to her relationship with XL, we should not take it literally. She knows XL doesn't hate her, she knows he loves her in a way and she's smart enough to understand if he was mean the last time they met AND deleted all memories of him it's not out of hatred but out of love.
But she's precisely angry with him for that. She has long blamed him for making decisions for both of them, for choosing to be cruel or insensitive or mean to create distance between them, always making it difficult for her to know the depth of his feelings.
And now she has lost him forever she realizes that he once again has to decide for both of them. Her words are anger towards hims and a way of creating a distance from the pain she feels. It's the lack of respect towards her, deprived of free will, that she condemns.
An enemy general, preparing for his last battle, would have no use thinking about deleting the memories of an acquaintance and XY knows it. But a man who loved her would have remembered this detail and made sure not to leave anything behind. XY understands what erasing the mirror means, it doesn't make it any less painful or lessen her anger towards him though.
so XY reiterated again for those who did not hear it or realised it the 1rst time : XL is her friend. So her love…
It is also said XL only sees her as an object of trade yet we all know how much he loves her. The relationship between XY and XL is made up of unsaid words, innuendoes and refusals to admit to each other what they really think. To fail to realize this is to miss one of the big point of the story about a girl who loves two men romantically. XY said she's more terrified of falling in love with XL than of dying (she who is afraid of suffering and death) why? Because she knows that kind of love would be devastating for her. XY would rather suffer than be hypnotized and reveal who she really wants to spend the rest of her life with. Why? Because admitting it's XL would be too painful. XY loves XL and, if she was free to choose and he had let her, she could have chosen him. But because of who she is, because of who he is, they can't and each does everything not to cross the line and reveal their feelings for the other. Saying this doesn't diminish the relationship XY has with TSJ or her love for him. It's just respecting the story as it told to us : XY shares the Lovers Bug with XL, something impossible if there was no mutual romantic love between them. XY saved memories of XL in her mirror, which surprises her father who thought they would be memories of TSJ. XY tells XL she will follow him if he gives up everything. She keeps giving him chances and hoping while not daring to take the first step and so on.
Atp I'm really feeling disbelief as to how XY is unable to notice CX's and XL's feelings for her. People says…
A part of her knows XL loves her. This is also why she has certain reactions at times and certain hopes. But XL being good at hiding his feelings and hurting her with his words or actions, XY never stops doubting his feelings for her and their depth. She's such an insecure person, so cynical AND she's so afraid of being hurt by him more than she already is that she takes every hurt as an excuse to tell herself he doesn't love her enough. As for CX, I think it's the same but more muffled. A tiny part of her suspects CX has feelings for her. But he is her brother, her only family, her only real support that she completely denies any suspicion she might have.
It’s heartbreaking to acknowledge that he is the only right choice while simultaneously being the impossible…
Let's be honest, if she knew everything he had done for her, she wouldn't be able to survive his death. As unfair, heartbreaking, frustrating and painful as it is for both of them, it's perhaps best because it allows him to die without much regret and her to be able to continue living.
Can someone please explain the relationship between Xiang Liu and FangFang Bei? Are they not the same person cuz…
They're the same person. FFB was a free spirit who could be close to XY, her best friend, her soulmate, someone she could have a future with. Xiang Liu is the emotionless demon General who can't prioritise her. By killing his identity as FFB, XL is no longer free to be the companion XY cherished. So she grieves the hope of a possibility for them and the spirit of FFB. She's now facing XL, a demon who can't/doesn't want to show emotion to her and his devote to his cause.
They missed their chance. If she hadn't made this promise to TSJ at the beginning, she might have kissed XL for…
He would have put up barriers but not as many. Certainly he is aware of his destiny and the opposing camps in which they are. But if there, with all the barriers she has put, he still doesn't stop hoping, it is certain he would have had less restrictions if she had been more open towards him. They almost kiss twice and it would have taken just one to pass the point of no return.
xiang liu is also real dense, he cant pick up some hint from xiao yao, indeed people in love are blind 😭 honestly…
XY and XL both know the other has feelings for them. BUT given they are not openly honest about their feelings, that XY made a promise to TSJ, and that XL is tied to his adoptive father and his cause, each doubts the depth of the other's feelings and wants some confirmation. That's why they can't stop taking one step forward and ten steps back. Each , in turn, tries to probe the other, to make him/her understand there is a chance, to make him/her say what he/her feels. But each time, they don't follow through and only make themselves suffer and doubt more.
Episode 5, she's waiting for XL in a red dress on the shore... Her heart speaks in volumes. Wish he knew. (Why…
I think he knows it. It may be implied when she asks him how long he's known about her marriage and he says since she's been in Haoling. This means he heard about it and probably came to see her. When she sees snow, maybe he was there but hidden because he hadn't made up his mind yet.
TSJ saying at the end that he's allowing XY to choose.Meanwhile XL doing his very best so that XY won't even consider…
They missed their chance. If she hadn't made this promise to TSJ at the beginning, she might have kissed XL for breathing underwater in episode 19 or been a little less afraid of him "appearing in her dreams" or letting her guard down on other occasions. But she never allowed herself to because of that promess and XL started putting up walls around his feelings and got to a point where, even though he tests her to see what she feels, he knows he can't. Nothing must begin between them. It's so sad because this have taken away the possibility of expressing their feelings and having this real possibility between them and we see them choking under the sobs of their repressed feelings.
It’s amazing how XY’s relationships with TSJ and XL are so different but similarly intense and painful for…
I agree. There's no right and wrong about her endgame because : 1) That's her choice 2) That's what life is sometimes 3) She loved them both (even if it's in different way it's romantic love anyway) 4) It's realistic to not have a perfect ending. Life is imperfect and unfair. Neither men is perfect, neither life she'll have with them will be. All we can hope it's that her ending will be the less regretful for her and she'll have a chance to happiness.
I laughed and blushed when Feng Yue acted jealous of his younger self then kissed Bai Shuo to show her the difference between when it's him (a full confident demon king ) and when it's Mu (a innocent sweet young man).
