Just realized that pete knows the handcuff trick that kinn did in ep 6😐 my man is really not trying to escape lmaoooo same with the rope, he was trained to undo it, not to mention those electrocution cabels were right next to his bed in ep 12 and he chose to read a book instead
Bible said the ending is different from the book so let's imagine a different scenario -- Vegas and Pete have an inextricable pull to one another that can't be denied, they pull at each other like magnets and although it may not be love yet, it has the potential of turning into it. Kan sees it and demands his son to kill him, reminding him that love is a weakness that has no place in the minor family however Vegas doesn't have the capacity of hurting Pete so he sets him free. Pete then returns to the main family but the memories of Vegas are inescapable which explains the scene from the mv, he puts his wrists together and wonders where the rope has gone because he misses it, he wants to be chained to Vegas forever, this mindset will drive him insane so he comes up with a solution, planning to hurt Vegas in order to deal with his inner turmoil.
This all culminates in the final family showdown from the first book. We encounter the main & major family in a final battle, Pete and Vegas against each other. Pete takes this as an opportunity and tries to kill Vegas so that he could free himself from this constant need of being close to him meanwhile Vegas does everything in his power to protect him, when Pete catches him, Vegas doesn't fight back -- he kneels and says I love you, Pete looks at him with a gun at the other's head and realizes that Vegas is his freedom, the chains set him free that's why he needs them. He wants to be locked with Vegas.
I think it doesn't make really sense in terms of characterization to see Pete as the guy who wants to bring happiness…
Mafia are as varied as any other collection of individuals in the same line of work. There are jolly and gregarious people and gloomy introverts. Some excitable ones are quick to act on their impulse while others weigh the pros and cons carefully before responding. Some are deeply sentimental, empathetic even and others sociopathic in their lack of empathy, in my opinion Pete can be both ruthless and kind based on who is in front of him, his behavior changes according to the person he is dealing with but of course it's a matter of perspective
