I saw some edits and hated the fact ML forced FL into this marriage, it was so messy imo. I wouldnt care if both the FL and ML were uninterested in this marriage and it was given by the emperor because thats life ygm but the way ML plotted all this and basically forced the FL to marry him is so wrong and idc what any1 says. 😭

Yesss, same, I also dont understand why Fan Yake didnt take Ji er with her after Fu TingYun gave her the option. In the beginning, I thought it was because Yu Family was too powerful and in general, Ji er would have a better life if he was with the Yu Family since Fan Yake doesn't even have a standing of herself yet. However, by the time TingYun gave Yake the choice, Yake already built a life she is quite comfortable with and could easily take Ji er with her. It would've also been way better for Ji er to stay away from Yu family and their drama, I believe Yake would've also known what Yu Jingxiu went through as a child so leaving her child in their hand was quite a weird move.

I dont know much about against the current but this drama is anything but silly. The plot is well structured, romance is beautiful, friendships are extraordinary, and everything is great to say the least.

I'm not sure why you are hating on it so much but if you find it so silly then its probably not a drama for you

YESSSSS, the romance was so peak like honestly the drama made sure that in ever episode we knew that Zhao Ling and TingYun loved each other. I haven't seen another drama that was able to portray like that! Ahh i wish they collaborate again!

if breaking up doesnt mean giving up then what does? plus in the relationship, you clearly can see who puts more effort into it. Yes, she does murmur his name during snow time but the whole drama is basically surrounding the concept of are they just in the relationship because they are used to it or are they really in love, and this exactly correlates with it. Is she murmuring his name because shes used to seeing him during the first snow or is she really in love with him? She did give up on the relationship.

exactly!!! the capital was a torture to watch and im so so glad by the end of the drama ZL leaves the court and has nothing to do with this emperor or his empire anymore!! I know emperor truly has his own difficulties but the amount of hardship he just threw at ZL was so selfish in a way.

Not just because she is dull or negative but rather because she basically gave up on their relationship. I dont agree with cheating at all but I wouldnt mind if the ML broke up with the FL because of what she became.

He doesn't hate anyone except his parents. Throughout the drama, you'll see that the reason he hated the FL was because his parents, specifically, his mother, liked the FL and he became so tired of their controlling behaviour that he just wants to breakfree from it.

oh my goodness!!! you put every single of my thought into wording so perfectly!! I truly loved the way they portrayed emotions and second chance in this drama!! I was so happy about it because some characters truly deserve to be forgiven. Humans are so grey, sometimes we have to do things we dont want to and having the ability to fix those wrongdoing is such an amazing opportunity and not many people have, I'm so so glad our favourite CP allowed that to happen!! The way they were so forgiving will truly be my favourite part of the drama, it was fascinating yet realistic!!

yess, the poison part literally was the best scene ive ever seen in any type of dramas!! I had to rewatch it multiple times because of how emotional it was!! I'd also like to add that I took her willingness to drink the posion as not only because "she promised him a lifetime of devotion in return for him saving her life" but also because of how much she adores and loves him in general and is willing to die to help him stay alive and be happy (as in stay powerful). Some in the comments took her love and care towards him as something she was forced to give because he saved her life and cared for her, but i would say thats not true at all. The reason she loved and cared for him so much is because he is the person who would be willing to help an innocent girl when the whole world is against her and reassure her that he trusts and believes in her. Zhao Ling is so lovable and it annoys me that instead of seeing him as someone who is so precious and lovable, they like to portray it as she was forced to love him.

Atleast they both can be happy in another world!! I do think both of their death was unfortunate but much needed for Zhao Ling’s development. It gave him a reason to be so "powerful" and it also made him realise what power meant. I really liked the Grand Secretary Yu's saying "power means you have to kill those you want to kill and you also have to kill those who you dont want to kill," this is so true especially in a place like court. I'm glad Zhao Ling was able to come to sense and leave that place for good!
