It just struck me when you ex-MIL, so I consulted Google:

“…when your wife dies, her mother does not become your "ex-mother-in-law". She remains your mother-in-law, even after your wife's death…”it goes to say even after remarrriage, the title can be “other mil/fil”…
Of course it can be whatever you want, but a spouse’s death does not have to end the relationship.

I know in the US there’s been baby formula, which is a man-made substitute for breast milk, since the 60’s & bottles.
So (in reality) she might have had bottles from JinJu.., or a neighbor.

Newborns don’t usually eat from a spoon.

(Maybe gruel was the least “offensive” word to say - as opposed to breast milk.)

Yes in the US rice (powdered) is often the first “solid” food babies get.
I’m sure gruel can be made pretty liquidy too.
I looked it up as you inspired me…

It’s been a long time since my son was a newborn, but I thought newborns are basically on a liquid diet? (Formula and/or breast milk)

At a few months (3 to 6) very liquidy cereals and strained foods are added…

I tend to think though things are difficult for both Pi SU Il and ME, I think the fact that SJ’s entire existence has not been anything she thought it was.
Both of her supposed parents were shocked at the family meeting but each of their own histories are largely unchanged…
In the short space of pre-dinner conversations, SJ no longer knows who she is biologically anymore.

The person she was told is her father is not and the person she confidently believed was her biological mother is not her birth mother.

She probably still considers ME her mother as she is the only mother she’s known… but soon her personal history is going to get deeper.

Agreed. He should have never remembered or shared that he remembered.

If he got to the house (was that his house? pre: SeonJu) he should have verified.
If his wife remarried because she thought he was dead… then there could have been a conversation. A difficult conversation.

But now it’s a mess. And two people that love each other now need to leave their marriage decision to her mother.
(Adults never get to be adults in these shows, an elder always decides their fate!)
