I think what set aside from Reset or cdramas, compared to hollywood ones, is the use of human connection. In Reset, they take the painstakingly long task of telling each passenger's sob story and having us either relate or empathize with these characters. Which I don't think hollywood ones do
I don't get why cops don't put those sharp things that kills the tires so the bus will have to forcefully stop itself. Or also have someone knock down the bus driver so he can't drive. So many other ways.
I feel like bai's character is slowly deteriorating , every time he wakes up some new ailment to his body happens. But the fl is fine, which I think the only reason could be that she's the OG in the loop while bai was accidently brought into the loop, so he may be a casualty in the end if this case doesn't end soon.
Honestly, this type of plot isn't anything new since Hollywood, and most likely other foreign countries, have done this concept. For instances, Source Code is a similar concept. But I believe Reset is China's first drama of this type of concept and it's pretty well done so far. These type of stories can have a lot of loopholes if not written well.
I had heard this was good from people mentioning it on feeds but I wasn't expecting it to be this good! This has…
Give Ultimate Note a try, but it's a continuuem of previous series so you would have to kindda watch the lost tomb series. But Ultimate Note got me hooked on the whole trilogy and franchise
It was an accident though. What annoyed me the most is how all of those big brave men around were not trying and…
None of these male passengers are big or brave. there is one brawn man but just bc he's big doesn't warrant him to be brave and take action. I don't think there's much correlation to that, it's just the media assumption. Theres a sharp knife and people seriously injured, I would be shocked and terrified to step in. I bet they were shocked stupified. I do think that's a flaw in the plot for fl to leave the bomb in the bus, but I think it's to further show us that there's two bombers so the leads will have to stop both people, not just the lady. I think the driver is reluctant for this to happen since he was somewhat softhearted and let the fl off the bus plenty of times. The drama took in to consideration of letting us know that fl always board his bus and says he's a nice guy. So I think there's a chance to persuade him. I'm really happy this is a short drama as it means there's no dragging to the plot.
I like the determined and stoic look of bjt's face after he killed the lady. I guess killing someone really changes a person. Emtionally and mentally he can never go back to what he once was. Im intrigued of what's to come. Also, I think if the bomber wants to die then she can why bring along all these innocent people. Very selfish of her. And also the mystery of why fl is able to be in the loop and is preventing the bomb the only way to get out of the loop?
I was wondering how many eps there are since we already know who the bomber is, so 18 eps makes sense. Find the bomber and then find a way to stop them
Ep 8 was pretty good. Can definitely see Bai's character devlopment in ep 8. I was starting to lack a bit of patience since they keep waking up at the bus over and over again, but ep 8 was the turning point.
Unfortunately, it's not. You dont know how much I secretly wish it was true, but its not. It's just all rumors. Seven and Allen have been a pretty successful onscreen cp and many fans want a 2nd reunion. Hence, whenever there's new rumored dramas to be filmed, tabloids or whomever uses these two to bring attention and hype to the to be filmed dramas. It doesn't mean they will be in it. Often times they aren't. But you can look forward to Road to Home (tentatively named) starring seven and jbr that is strongly rumored to be filmed next month. Apparently both parties already signed contract. It should be a good one bc the author of novel is the same author in all the popular drama adaptions (i.e. Forever and Ever/One and Only, Silent Separation, and more that I cant think of)
Every Cdrama writer should watch this and take notes on how to properly deal with a love triangle. I was fully…
Couldn't agreed more! I love the script and the details of the drama, how they laid a trail of hints to forecast the relationship between the three. 1. Lx lives in a separate apartment complex, a floor up. while zq lives under the same roof as jj. So that already shows the relationship dynamics where lx is the neighbourhood friend/bro, while zq is the real bro.
2. lx calls jj's dad "li dad" while zq calls jj's dad "dad". By referring li dad with his surname already separates the boundary that they don't really have a father/son relationship but more of a uncle/nephew relationship since you don't call your dad by their name first. Also, lx has his own biological father and his dad gives monthly allowance to li dad.. This further puts a fine line between the relationship. While zq calls li dad as just dad so they have a true father/son relationship, hence jj would be his sister.
3. jj means more to lx while li dad means more to zq. Both father and daughter have saved the boys but each in their own ways. jj is lx's saviour, she brought him out of the darkness, while li dad is zq's saviour bc he gave him fatherly love that he desparately wanted. zq has major attachment and separation issues bc both parents abandoned him. So he feels immensely insecure in the family bc he's not biologically or legally li dad's son. By law, he's not even adopted, at most he's a foster son. So his ultimate goal and dream is to be under Li family's registry, which he also mentioned. When both boys came home after 9 years abroad, the first thing they did showed who meant more to them. For instances, lx wanted to see jj's room first, he carefully went around her room inspecting the pictures and stuff animals reminencing the past and wondering what she did during the time he was away. While zq went to the noodle restuarant first bc he missed li dad more.
There's lots more clues, but I can't think of them at the top of my head. But, we can also see that zq is still very much kid like. He has 0 clue about romance and the opposite sex, he finds it gross to have sex or to kiss jj. That's a pretty big bro moment. No husband or bf would find it gross to be intimate with the person they are attractive to. So it shows zq isn't romantically in to jj, he's just insecure and sad that jj chose lx over him bc, again, it stems from his attachment and insecure issues form his abandonment as a kid. He feels like jj chose lx over him so he's being left behind again.
I love this drama, there's so much going on and with just simple actions and words can have such a bigger meaning. The details as well such as the goldfish symbolizing growth...MY's goldfishes never grew, they stayed as babies symbolizing her mom controlling her every aspect in life which doesn't allow her to grow independently as an individual. It's when she released the fishes in the pound that symbolized her growth. Li dad's house has a tank of goldfishes and you can see that each decade change the goldfishes change in size representing the gradual growth of the people living in that household. Also, in lx's childhood room, you can see drawings hanging above his bedpost. They are drawings of lx, himself, and the trio siblings, courtesy of JJ. I find it really cute and it just shows how much lx cherishes jj and zq. Even the shoes the bday shoes jj gave them depicted how they felt about jj and the relationship. zq would cherish them and not wear them while lx wore them for 9 years.
Sorry, I typed too much. I just get really into it when I talk about GA.
Final thoughts:I feel like the drama kind of lost its way during the last ten episodes or so. We hardly ever got…
I agreed with most you said. The ending talked too much about MY and her mom and the rest of the side characters. I guess it was to give closure to the side characters' storyline. I wanted LX to leave his mom, and like you said cut her off from his life, but he was filial to the end bc he had the gigantic guilt. As a child he was blamed for killing his sister, which shouldn't be his fault but his mom for horrible child supervision (she freaken left two young kids alone so she could gamble). So he has this guilt and he just stayed by his mom's side in Singapore to repent for killing his sister. That's why child therapy is so important, this drama shows the importance of mental health of all ages. I wanted a lot more romance between the leads as well, but I guess they wanted to stick with the original familial theme. The romance was another way to show the leads as family since husband and wife are family. I don't think they engaged, but if looked closely it could be interpreted that the leads had registered their marriage. One of the clues was JJ wearing white and LX wearing a black tux (black and white is the traditional symbol colour of bride and groom). They could've wrapped the ending better, but the acting was phenomenal. I never hated the mom so much, so she was fantastic. She creeped me out too with her psychotic bulging eyes.
I don't even care about the age, they just don't have the onscreen chemistry. It's like two separate people acting their roles/characters but they don't mesh together nor are they compatible. Perhaps I watched this when the hype was over so I'm not blindsided by all the stimilations. I tend to be more critical in dramas and if the onscreen chemistry isn't there then the whole drama just lacks. The plot, acting, script has to make up for the lack of chemistry between the leads. But, I do like the scenery and landscapes. Makes me want to visit Quebec one day.
