No matter how much Dali wants to stand out and be the superior one in the group, she can only do that among naive, foolish inexperienced people. Once xy appears, Dali loses all the fake armour she has. Xy is just a natural leader bc of her wit, creativity, and courage, which Dali just doesn't have the nack for . Ep 14 shows just that, Dali is not a problem solver, she just becomes another sheep

Dali is oringally a peony. Peonies enjoy being admired. There's a Chinese poem of somesort "Ode to the Lotus"-there's a phrase "The world greatly loves peonies, peonies are the noblest of flowers". ...so by nature, Dali not being admired and enamoured by everyone slowly grew this jealousy. So I think that's where the director wanted to make this connection bc of all flowers why he chose to make Dali a poeny.

Here's another explanation as to why Dali changed so drastically-this came from another comment on lrb.
Why would Dali hang out with Luoluo? It's because Luoluo has no brains (sorry buddy), he follows orders and doesn't question thus allowing Dali to feel superior in the relationship. In the first couple eps when Dali and Luoluo first met XY, they brought food for XY and whether Luoluo could eat the food was up to Dali's command. That already showed Dali's nature, she enjoyed sense of control and superiority, which is why she hangs with Luoluo. However, since XY came in the picture, XY is the smarter memeber of the three. Luoluo and Dali listens to her, and it makes Dali feel inferior.

Another one is when Dali saw her Demon Lord under the control of the spirit (ZLY), so she naturally believed the spirit is more formidable than HY and could satisfy her desire, hence why she's breaking up the friendship with XY. She sees the spirit's disciples all dignified and respected and feared, she wanted to be like that as well. Tsk tsk, really am disappointed in Dali, but this also goes to show how well written this script is. I love analyzing this drama.

I used to think the same way, and at first it didn’t quite make sense to me either. However, as the story unfolds, I feel like the plot is slowly revealing itself, and perhaps this was intentional on the director’s part.
I have a feeling this drama will make the most sense only after watching it all the way to the end, where the beginning is actually the end, and the ending becomes the beginning. Rather than reincarnation, it feels more like a loop.

I’m choosing to trust the director’s vision. He’s an award-winning director who spent nearly a decade writing this script, pouring his heart into it. It’s hard to believe he would make such an obvious, amateur mistake if the flaw were that easy to spot. For now, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I’m choosing to stay civil, even though this situation is frustrating. Constructive criticism is welcome on this page, whether it’s positive or negative, and whether it’s about the plot, production, or performances. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

However, directly attacking actors or actresses crosses the line into harassment and is not constructive criticism. Freedom of speech does not justify bullying, if you think it does then you need to reflect on yourself as a person.

Honestly, this kind of behaviour grosses me out. If you don’t like the drama or certain people involved, that’s fine—but basic decency still matters. Say your piece respectfully, or simply move on and don’t watch it.

There are celebrities I don’t personally like either, but that doesn’t mean I go out of my way to insult them. I just don’t follow their work. It’s really that simple.

The leads also gave hints on hi6. They introduced each other as xy xy xy and hy hy hy. so it means in three lifetimes it's still themselves, not some reincarnation with other identities like other xianxa dramas

Btw, how is she so popular? Thank you for confirming that you also are aware she's popular. She's worked her ass and has been in the industry for 20 years as an independent artist with no company backing or resource. She started small roles, to 2nd female lead, to female lead 2nd string, and now first string female lead. The entertainment industry sees her value, the producers, directors and other senior actors see her as a clean, hardworking actress. She refers herself as an actress, not celebrity. Her dramas almost always air on TV, not just web. each drama she takes her acting skills improve. She has a wide range of audience, from children to aunties/uncles to elderly people.

Both tsy and hmh are great actors and they have worked hard in their career and for this drama. If you don't like this drama, don't watch bc plently will.

Haha, try harder! I tend to save the 3rd ep to the next day so I can watch while I wait for new eps. The plot is getting good, so 3 eps isn't enough for me know.

ss and the actress playing Dali were online discussing the ep and at the end they both mentioned they would love to do a get together with the cast but it's hard bc of everyone's schedule. ss mentioned she will try! There's hope!!

I think so too! I feel like the princess is xy, not the other way around. I think her future self travelled back in time and became the princess to save hy. I'm confused but so invested in the plot
