I'm reading chinese comments and one person said she didn't understand the random death of the elf and thought it was a meaningless death for him. Someone explained that the madam was ALi's redemption, and without his redemption there's nothing left to live for. the Madam was his Bodhisattva, and bc he saw with his own eys of her death, he lost the will to live and self destruct. He atoned his sins by saving 1000 people, and then seeing his belief disappear in front of him, I guess he was ready to leave this world

I think it was mentioned immortality was torture for him. He probably had modern day depression as well. I really like this segment, there's really detailed thought in each character and the actions they do. We can't just watch it superficially on the surface cuz we won't understand the meaning of it. This drama is giving me hope that it will be better. There's more insight to be seen haha

No haha none of that. I mean the cat demon stuffed xy's soul or fragment in a tree for safe keeping and to cultivate again bc the demon land wasn't safe anymore. Hy falls in love with xy, but there's much more complex with the story. I don't think xy is the reincarnation of his previous love. I think instead maybe the previous lover, aka the princess, is xy instead.

I just rewatched and they did look at the girl. HY looked at her twice, and when xy asked why the fragment was here, hy only explaed what that particular fragment piece was. He didn't explain why it was here at all. Grrr

I don't think they've met each other per say, more like they are aware of each other's identity. the elf is one of the legendary creatures, he's in the demon transcript.

I had similar thoughts when hy mentioned the only friend and only person he trusts. I'm like whaaat? what did xy do that caused him to think like that, and I felt like when he confessed this to xy, xy was perplexed too. She prob was like wtf he talking about.

i feel like the director isn't experienced with writing romance haha. He did great with Knockout but the genre is like mystery, thriller something of that sort. Hmh mentioned that there was a line that he thought was very cheesy so he changed it and I actually quite like the change, I was squealing when I saw it in the previews.

Sometimes, writing and reading the script sounds great, but when actually seeing it on the big screen is definitely cheesier.

During filming of this drama it was rumoured to be similar to inuyasha and that was my fave anime as a teen. However, I don't really see the resemblence, other than ml being killed by first love and fl looking similar to first love, that's about it.

Same, sometimes i find the romance dramas for modern are even worse. So why not watch period and fantasy where I'm exposed to the beautiful culture, costumes, hairstyle and makeup.

did you see the bts of a group of people doing voice dubbing for the green herbal monsters. it was so cute. they just make random noises, reminds me of minions

the blind girl? she seemed ok to me when she found out her family and Ahli died. I feel like her resentment wouldn't be deep enough to morph a piece of the mirror

Exactly! That's why I'm not as in to the chemistry as I would like to be. There's no transition of him getting over NingAn. he woke up, saw XY and thought she was NA and when he realized she wasn't, he was curious who she was. But wasn't his previous relationship a passionate deep love that would die for each other type? I mean he was walking down the alter towards her during their wedding day, yet he was able to get over it so quickly. or maybe he's just supressing his feelings. I mean, he died, and then 100 years he was a seed or fragment so idk if he could have thoughts and feelings and reflect when he's not of a physical form. He died of her betrayal, so shouldn't the emotion be more intense (hatred, sadness, betrayl etc). I feel like he moved on too quickly. There's no distinctive change. I would liked a couple more eps of him and xy arguing and him being more ruthless, and then slowly accept xy may not be NA, and allow her to live in demon valley. Through the adventures of finding the kunlung mirror fragments, they can then slowly fall in love. I really hope this gets better bc I really want to love this cp. I do like ss and hmh's interaction, I find them very comfortable with each other.

It's just a pity he lost the will to live once that madam offed herself.

You are the first one that said this. While most are saying the opposite and I’m on wb and lrb and not one single cnetizen or even the paid trollers that purposely spread negative words of this drama ever mention it’s low budget. I’m quite surprised

It’s just hy turns in to naive love sick puppy to xy which I don’t get why all of a sudden. I prefer slow burn bc it makes more sense of the gradual connection and getting to know each other and relying on each other. It’s a bit quick of and sudden which doesn’t allow me to find where that link or change of perspective or behavior to each other came from. I could see it in her previous work, especially in utp. I still like the drama and I love the special effects and background set and I’m curious of how the plot reveals

For those that say fl is immature, she's slowly gaining life experience and maturing and her own thoughts are being more insightful. I quite like the gradual growth, character development. I prefer that than an already developed character-where's the fun in watching then.

This drama also shows how greedy humankind are. Qionghua sector and demon hunter soldiers just want to claim the reward, they don't care if they wrongfully killed a person or demon. Only BZ paid respects to the dead
