usually time travel concepts are super interesting, and you can tell that the writers work a lot on avoiding plotholes and trying to explain the multiple layers of information in a way that's possible to follow. wow, if that's really the case here, then I feel like this movie is missing out on so many things. like also because of the different letters, would that affect tian yu's book and plagiarism scandal too?? like I feel that the movie is lazy to actually embrace the time machine theme, yet forces it into the story half-assedly.

I admit I'm not really the type who likes artistic symbolistic movies, but I accept if a movie wants to go that reoute. but I think this was far from it, it was just clumsy at delivering crucial details. Like yes, there are movies that want to be solved and decoded, but I think this movie is more like it left out a bunch of info, and hence why you have to decode it, because it forgot to write a good script. TTvTT I don't want to be too harsh on it, because some of the messages I did like, but I couldn't even be emotionally invested at the end, because I was like wth is happening?

anyway thanks for giving some extra info, I think if someone is going into watching this movie with these notes, it's more enjoyable, but again tbh I don't think a movie should need notes before watching TTvTT but I hope you'll enjoy it more though the third time!

I'm extremely confused by this fantasy aspect tbh.
But from what I understood but was very poorely conveyed is that the letters tian yu is writing go back in time. So that's why the boy is not aging, but basically it's more like a time-machine with which he is changing his future in the present by influencing his past (phew what a sentence).

I don't know who Leslie Cheung is I admit or what it had to do with the whole thing.

I think the concept is not bad btw, but horribly explained, like I realized there is a fantasy element only at the last quarter of the movie and it felt like it came out of the blue and made no sense to me. Like I'm okay with movies not overexplaining things, but with this it felt super out of left field, and was extra weird that tian yu is like not even surprised by owning a time machine, like pff yeah, that's just my mailbox guys, like what. Also I feel like this actor had a hard time showing bigger emotions, like not even a tear shed at tragedies, or wanting to die?? ugh, it was not my cup of tea how he played the character.

hmm so I might be extremely dumb, but I found this movie super confusing. I was very surprised by the supernatural element of it, and the ending, it really didn't make much sense to me. Didn't really make me feel either, especially tian-yu's character/acting. I'm happy to see more of Fandy Fan for sure. But overall the show showed very surface level of the character's emotions, it felt like there was much more but not explored. Also if anyone is wondering if this is BL, nope, it's bromance, I felt pretty much no chemistry, but they were good buddies. But yeah, this movie was a miss for me.

I don't know if I it's been too long since I watched korean shows, but omg... 16x1 hour episodes is toooooooooooo much. damn. Like don't get me wrong, there are shows where I'm fine watching longer eps but korean stuff just stretches out everythiiiiing so they can fill the tv programmes or something I guess. I'm at ep 6 and just so little is happening, no need for this much time at all. I love the content, but this pacing is tormenting me. like the romance is also handled well, the teacher clearly rejected the guy, and I don't feel like she is giving off bad vibes. when I was a kid, my teachers also took me to events with classmates, or even alone, so I feel like it's all fine, he just fell in love, which happens. I don't know how it continues as I'm heavily debating if I should keep watching. I'm mostly here for a romantic story, but at the pace we are going... ugh, probably gonna take a million years until we can skip in time and any romance can begin, as there is none so far.

omg the soundguy needs to go, like why can't he make the dalogue track louder than the music track TTvTT also can we do a gofundme for China to get them a mic to use while shooting instead of redubbing the whole thing in post?? TTvvvvTT

Haha yeah the plastic nose is super common! It's not my taste either. There are some good quality series though with good actors, but they are usually way too long with lots of filler scenes, so maybe Korean films count as superiour, and might have overall better castings, but I haven't watched much tbh. (:

I mean it's subjective indeed haha, but I suppose you rate the men throught tv-shows, so actors and I'm dying because Korean actors look at least 30% plastic surgery (much higher in bl content), and they are usually thickly covered in makeup, and appear in bright artificial lighting. But ofc there are a few nice fellas who look pretty natural. It's an interesting contrast because Japanese stuff is pretty much the opposite, they are more natural, use less makeup, and even with lighting they tend to use more natural light. Don't take it to heart, it was just an observation of the oddness, of choosing these opposites for the top.

it's not a review TTvTT I did not give a review, it's an impression of the first episode. a bunch of people just write opinions in the comments of this and that, hell someone just commented on someone's fashion here, reviews go into the review section for me, comments go into the comment section.
I put my mind there because the episode started off with kinky sex, it's not about the couple, it's about what the creators of the show decided to show, I think you treat the characters too much like real people, I treat the show as something man-made, and I don't aim any criticism against the actors here, but the writers/direction, it was a very odd choice of a start for me for this topic, felt more of a fanservice that they usually do to get the yaoi fangirls hooked on, and I found it made with poor taste, you don't have to agree tho no worries.
But it's why I voiced my concerns because I didn't want to continue as it felt very uncomfortable, But I'm glad to hear it's -allegedly- not going into that direction.
Sorry if I became heated here too, I just don't like when people misunderstand what I say.

"but maybe get your head out of the gutter with the kinky stuff." - you gotta understand I start every Thai BL with heavy prejudice as most I gave a chance to turned out to be basically soft prn/sexual fanservice... it's good to hear it didn't head to that direction (according to comments at least), but the first episode wasn't convincing for me, especially how it started with weird handcuff sex... why even put that in when it's about a topic like this I don't get it, hence why I jumped to the conclusion: kink sht.
