eh .I can't go through ep 3. please give some encouraging words here ?
My encouraging words would be: There is so much stuff ranked high on your watchlist that indicates you'd probably like this drama's brand of romance. You even gave well-intended love a 9. I have mad respect for that.
This drama is slow going for a while. If it were me, feeling impatient or not picking up what it's laying down.... I'd put it on my On Holds, and wait for a few cozy, quiet dreary days to binge it. It's a lot like the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. It's a whole lotta not much, punctuated by moments of inconceivable HOTNESS. with a guaranteed HE.
The goal isn't to try to orient yourself right away to what's going on. It's just to let it wash over you and get immersed in it. Don't go in overthinking it like you're going to master the ins and outs of the plot. This isn't the kind where you need to take notes and have a family tree open in a separate tab while you watch it or anything.
I've just finished my third watch: I still skipped much of the flashback stuff.... still don't totally get what "happened" in the past that caused the ML to be who he is and caused all the stuff that goes into the plot... (I mean I kind of get it, but mehhhyyyy only kind of).... Still didn't pay more than cursory attention to the first 2 episodes.... and still the story was just as hot as the first watch.
It just gradually gets easier to follow along with the story as the episodes progress. So many people complain about it that I think it's the dramas biggest fault is having a really awkward, disjointed start that makes the story seem inaccessible at first. It's not your fault it's hard to slog through the opening episodes, it's the screenwriters fault, they could have done a better job introducing the story.
Edit: You gave ILMPAHIAP an EIGHT?!?! Srsly, get in here and watch this omggg.... even if you just leave it for later, do NOT give up on it. Even if this is the slowest drama you ever watch, imo you should one day finish it. Xie Wei is pure Dark-ML fire.
Can anyone here describe what the ML from Yanxi Palace is like? Does he compare at all to XW? I'm contemplating watching that one because so many people talk about it, but I want to know what I'm getting into as far as the ML and the type of romance it is.
Third rewatch, and can I just say:(Hey! Do NOT read the spoiler if you haven't seen it one time through. I'm serious,…
After that birdbrained bitch whips Ning'er and she gathers up the dirt and puts it back in the box, and XW comes to get her. They're in the carriage. Ning'er has cried and passed out. There's a rivulet of blood at the corner of her mouth. ML kisses her forehead. And then BAM his driver pulls back the curtain on the carriage right in front of her DAD, right?
That look he shoots at her dad, omGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Ling He played this part PERFECTLY. I am crazy about vampire stories, and this ML is everything a vampire ML is supposed to be, just without the blood drinking and the fangs. Why why why %)(##UFfhi04*UR()#*%)(#$ can't they make more ML's like this. It's so cruel that this is the best thing I've ever seen.
oh no journey to love has tragic ending? I was gonna drop Till the end of the moon because of tragic ending and…
ikr... you can just watch all but the last 2 episodes and just check out early if you want to watch it but don't want to endure the ending. Personally idk why anyone would subject themselves to AJTL. I am in love with Yu Ning after he played Hao Du in TLB, so that's why I watched it. If it wasn't for that I would have dropped pretty early on. But on the AJTL comments, it looks divided about 50-50 love/hate, to me. Since there's a big contingency of people who loved it, I can't say "don't watch it", I can only say I'm one of the ones who didn't like it.
imo it was too cheesy, I thought the FL turned the ML into a simp and everyone thought it was just so funny. And it didn't have a clear vision of what style it wanted to be, production-wise. Although my final impression was that it was kind of like a "swashbuckler" story.
I thought ML/FL had flat chemistry, but some people liked the pairing.
It was just so nothing like his Hao Du character that I fell in love with so I was bummed.
finally starting this 💓💓 love ANYTHING bailu is in.
Her stylist in this did such a good job. Remember how ugly they made her in Love is Sweet? With that stupid brown jacket that's elasticized at the waist with big sleeves, made her look like the michelin man. And then they put her hair back in a dumb ponytail.
SoKP made her look absolutely stunning. She normally plays her roles up a little bit , but in this one she is doing her best to match tones with the ML and keep her cuteness and bubbly-ness extremely subdued, and it works. She did a really great job.
have you watched A journey to love it's highly recommended
I also despized it. Yu Ning was so friggin HOTTT in The Long Ballad. He comes right off of that to play in this cheesy drama as a comic foil for a feminist "strong FL" who just takes the piss out on him all the time and it's supposed to be funny. NOT KEW. Yu Ning should be in a role with intensity and gravity. Not some dumb feminist c-version of a spaghetti western. There was ZERO chemistry between ML and FL, despite the fact they were both gorgeous and giving good performances. FL chases ML is not a good look for Yu Ning. And then what do you get for your patience and time investment? Total massacre. Fantastic.
This is the first Cdrama I've watched where the FL has a normal voice, and where the FL uses real facial expressions…
The toy throwing is seriously one of the best scenes I've ever seen in an asian drama. I had the surreal experience of legit laughing and crying at the same time.
I love almost every kind of dark ML.... twisted, toxic, taboo, obsessive, overbearing, antihero, all that stuff. I thought this was OKAY.
It was great up through the middle. It kind of followed that distinctly Japanese pattern of 50% awesome, followed by 50% angst, misery, and pain, and then a "welp there ya go" ending. I suppose it could technically be called an HE, but we are talking total cop-out very last second HE.
If it had ended differently, I would have given it an 8.5 As it stands, I gave it a 7.5 which according to my rating standards, makes it just slightly better than an average crap drama. There was one kiss scene and it was INCREDIBLE. After that you get NOTHING. Nada. Zero.
They should have ended it with some kind of passionate scene, because those two had some serious chemistry that you just only get a glimpse of.
If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of a bunch of 15yo's seething, far off in the distance....
I'd say every nationality has about an equal amount of toxicity, no one can claim moral superiority in that department.
I have no problem being made fun of for my stupid crap either. And I have plenty of stupid crap. The difference being, if someone said "I Love My President Although He Is A Psycho is a steaming pile of crap", I would have to agree with them, even though I gave it a 9.
I can explain WHY I gave it a 9, but I'm not about to pretend it isn't objectively a piece of crap. If someone asks if it was good, I can only say that I thought it was good despite being a "bad drama". I'd never recc it to anyone who I didn't think shared my tastes in crap dramas. And if someone wants to make fun of me over it, I'll laugh right along with them. I don't always have good taste. If someone's opinion is different than mine, I don't take it personally. It would be a very boring world if we all had the same tastes, it's not worth arguing over.
So what if you like the same crap that a gaggle of 15 year old song kang fans liked. So what if I liked the same crap that a bunch of mentally dented retards liked.
