Ep 13 is too much to bear.

I'm up to ep 12 and it's hard to watch these leeches she has in her family on both sides. Will the chicken soup change everyone's life?

Only watched 6 episodes. It's a time period in dramas that doesn't usually attrack me but in this case I find the characters and the production totally engrossing. I've loved Rayzha Alimjan in all her dramas and here she's joined by exellent actors to tell her story.

I guess we'll have to wait a five days to find out who won the second round. I'd vote Peking duck having enjoyed it often. Love His Majesty's fantasies after he takes a bike of the food but wish he had longer eyelashes to bat at her with pleasure. Their dangerous adventure to get the pressure cooker was exciting but why doesn't he have a better intelligence service to find out who was determined to assassinate them?

Just finishe Shadow Love and found it much superior to Legent of the Female General.

Ep. 37. Choices! Both Shuang and Jin'an decide how they will leave this world and each other. Their reasoning is sound but sad. Regrets come too late. A stately funeral procession is interrupted by a lone figure whose wounded heart beats with fervour to reclaim what he has carelessly let go.

Ep. 36. Shuang got to visit the disgraced empress and took her down a few more pegs. She got to take home her father's ashes. Her seductive dance was a surprise given how frosty she has been acting with Prince Annan. She also refused the jade headpin that he offered to let her know he remembered. Sad!

Ep. 35 A truly memorable episode. From and honorable death of the Grand General to the slimy toad of an empress. Prince Annan is reunited with his brother who is freed by the two nosy tresspassers from his year's long confinement in the custody of his crazed power-hungry wife. Shuang finally realizes what could have been in her relationship to her 'father'.

Zhou Yi Wei is my hero.

Ep. 31 Prince Annan has arrived, but why is he bending the knee to the Dowager? He's got a mad-on for the General because of her father's actions in the war. He still doesn't seem in his right mind. Still, he has won the battle and has a hostage. Does he still love his hostage?

I agree with your assessment of the old Emperor and the brother. I was more referring to his desire/plans to force Shuang to marry him or become his concubine using her family and her troops as leverage.

Ep. 29 Power couples. but who goes with whom? His majesty's father-in-law threatens to cut him off at the knees if he doesn't do right by his daughter. Jia'an potential father-in-law tests his reflexes and finds him wanting, so not good husband material. His majesty has moral lapses and Jia'an has memory lapses. The only couple that is fun to watch is Mo Yin and his new little disciple.

Ep. 27 Together again after Shuang bids goodbye to her father and with a few loyal comrades heads to Wuling Mountain. Mo Yin is at wit's end because the Linglong is not detaching and Jia'an is in full power mode. We're definitely getting a look at plenty of bare upper body delights and I love the fabric of his comfy looking pants. But I digress. Shuag has to slice the palm of her hand again to drizzle her hot lifeblood into his gaping mouth. The resulting change in his flame demeanor is almost immediate and he falls into her arms.

Ep. 26 Blood Bath. Who's left standing after this episode? Not Prince Li who found himself between a rock and a hard place due to a slight of hand. It's well deserved as he decimated the General's women warriors. She keeps thinking the Crown Prince is one of the good guys while he was stabbing his brother in the front. Jin'an come out of his funk to make sure his love is back on solid ground. Between the mysterious water and the piercing spikes, will the linglong make an appearance? Mo Yin is there to lend a hand on the occasion.

One can hope, I guess I'm just a romantic at heart.

I'm totally in love with this show. The humour is catching, the food and the way the taste buds react to it is mouthwatering. He has total faith in her and every bone in her body is competitive. I hope she never finds her 'book' and is able to help him be the best emperor he can be in order to change the bad reputation he has in the future.

I don't get the ratings here when the individual episodes are over 9 why is this 8.2?

I'm taking this slow and am loving it. This really is a sleeper that creeps up on you. He's much better in this than Legend of the Female General.

Just a third of the way through the drama. Taking it slow and savouring it. Drinking and Dancing done well. Lucious lips are moving ever closer. It's time to let down your hair. Couples are getting to know each other and having a good time.

Thanks for this. No I don't need the Prince, as long our two main leads continue to be each others heartthrobs.
