Actors must think these evil roles are desirable as they are on screen a lot making an impact on the story. I find most of them are so disgusting that I can't watch the specific actor in any other role in another drama. It's like 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'. Pure evil is different from if the story gives a character a reason for their revenge.

That sister is always making her brother look like a dunce. Gets tiresome.

Still plugging away around ep 24 and it's been depressing. Is there no end to those evil guys?

I found that last episode a waste of time and couldn't zip through it fast enough in order to get to the happy end and a most handsome bridegroom.

Looking at Eunuch Lou's shadow beard he would be hard pressed to prove he doesn't have the balls. Looks like the Empress overreached and dragged that cute 6th Prince down with her. The Shen household is gutted by fire and and Lu Shi Yan gets beamed on his noggin. How will it all end?

Slowly making my way to the end. Blacky is looking for Lu Shi Yan but he doesn't know enough to keep his nose to the ground. The Empress is counting her chickens and everyone else has a lot on their plate - find the antidote, protect the Crown Prince, get the Eldest Princess out of jail and neutralize the 'refugee' assembling in town for the (in)auspicious event.

I'm going to be so sad when we run out of Jeremy Tsue dramas. He is always such a stalward and upright hero who also has a romantic side to him that is very endearing.

My favourite was The Autumn Ballad.

I'm done. Forced myself to the end, but I guess I totally missed the significance of the tokens assembled at the end. I don't think I even care. I did like the ML and the SML and will look for them in hopefully better dramas.

You're right on point. It was never the same for me after the old face/body swap. So I'm glad it ended pretty lackluster in the romance department. I keep wondering what he did with the dead body he thought was his Cai Wei?

This drama is a bit of a lark with a strong female character. I did end up liking Captivating the King very much mostly for the male lead who is 'right up there' for me now. There is really nothing that compares to My Dearest. The two seasons of Poong, the Joseon psychiatrist wound itself into my heart. The King's Affection tugs at your heartstrings. If you're up for an old, long masterpiece try Empress Ki. Frustrating and flawed at times, but fascinating enough so you couldn't turn away.

I'm getting toward the end, but I'm having a harder and harder time sticking with this drama. The non-existing acting abilities of Ju Jing Yi are making it more and more difficult to find her believable as Cai Wei who had talent, intelligence, earthy charm and courageous self-reliance.

'Whither thou goest, I wilt go'. Few words and lots of kisses is the best way to end a drama. I liked this drama, short & sweet, because powerful as she was, she let her guard down to welcome in a handsome, loyal suitor.

Yes, that is the story in the drama, but have you compared the original body of Cai Wei and this itsy bitsy version now?

The second leads might be getting naked, but his storyline is very murky at this point. Pan Yue is getting very possessive and Cai Wei thinks her 'now' body can do the same strenuous actions/dance she was doing in her previous incarnation. She has three days to learn the dance but it looks like three years wouldn't be enough. Not the only problem look here, Pan Yue needs to let his hair down again to get my attention.

Both ML and SML are accomplished martial artists and there is plenty of strife.

Drink this and die! What can you do after such a command. The capital is full of challenges. There are brothers and dogs to boss you around, but you have a sister servant and a strong will so how is a princess going to stand in your way? Pan Yue is in a whole lot of bother though. He has to deal with his father, the empress and some 'behind the scenes' villain. Then there is Young Master trying to pawn his future and being chased by a little fem merchant. Are these stories ever going to merge again?

Accurate dimple reporting must always meet the highest standard, second only to enhanced descriptions of bare manly chest outings.
