Just finished this series. Many good things about this drama and its actors. Bromances galore are fun to watch with plenty of mysterious goings-on. I like the soundscape and the visual treats. Too bad due to censorship this BL story was not allowed to come into full bloom and it also made the story quite choppy. Kudos to the performances of Jing Bo Ran, Hong Yao but sadly those lovable lips of Song Wei Long were never to be kissed.
Your comment says a lot about how women are portrayed in xianxia/wuxia/historical C-dramas. Not a normal woman…
Yes, often that's the case and we must object when we see these portrayals/betrayals of women. Once in a while, there is a drama that gives us interesting, strong female roles like the two leads in Side Story of Fox Volant.
finished. This started so promising with decent chemistry, then went downhill towards the end. Kisses are sparse…
This is really good to know. Now I won't have to waste my time on this drama. Desperately looking for a romantic historical drama as there is nothing much new out after Unchained Love.
I'm not sure if I missheard but she was talking about her sister-in-law's brother and that she couldn't keep her promise to revenge him now. I'm totally confused.
I've totally forgotten what her revenge reason was to go to the palace, so when she was hinting about it I couldn't make heads or tails out of what she said.
That 'confession' Yinlou made to Duo was agonizing to watch. I could see him shrinking with every onslaught. I know she's trying to protect him but will she have any heart left after this? I which the Emperor was still a befuddled lantern maker, instead of the creep he has become. I don't' know what will happen, but hope Rong An and him take each other out.
Qiu Yuan played that queer little duck in Sword Snow Stride. I really like that drama, but she was mostly a cute but quiet sidekick. Here, it sounds like she's overdoing it.
I don’t think people are necessarily worried about the scenes. What people are talking about 1) the story arcs…
I thought quite a few of her outfits bordered on the ridiculous. Show some fashion sense FL, everybody else in the drama managed to look appropriately dressed.
Watching ep 9 and this is really ponderous. Lian is a sad excuse for an assassin. If you had to chose between Wu You, who definitely looks angelic, and the 'looking like he's on his last legs' Emperor would you hesitate for one moment?
