I know what you mean. I think she has no idea how different life is in NK than SK. She's been busy in her own world building a fashion company and just being ignorant to the plight of N. K. life. She's not nearly as bad as that FL in Sold Out on You. she was the most annoying character ever. Even her issues just seemed like a pity party to me so it was hard to 'forgive' her self absorption.
I finally got to see it on Netflix when I discovered they finally had it in English! (watching subs only is so tiresome - yes I know subs are best for many reasons but my comments will explain why I pretty much need dubbing - unless it's my 2nd time through and there isn't a lot of fast dialogue) I'm halfway through and it reminds me so much of East Germany vs West Germany. When that wall came down it was a momentously joyous occasion. I knew people who escaped from E.G. and they had some harrowing stories of life under the USSR & how different their lives were from W.G.
YES!!! 😭🙏Thank God.I love it when the obsessed kdrama fans are getting mad. Seriously unclench people 😂.…
I suspect the fear is that A. it will be woke, B. diverse casting that makes no sense (what we used to know as "tokenism"), C. starring repo-babies & DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion which ignores merit) actors. We've had enough of those in the west, which is WHY so many of us have switched to K-dramas. Classic case in point: what they did to Star Trek with the disaster called Starfleet Academy.
This just proves that schools in korea are extremely dangerous places full of antisocials and bullies. And I wonder…
After seeing Agent Kim and Teach You a Lesson, I wondered if it's that bad. Maybe so. In the west we think of you guys as being more disciplined and respectful than our culture. I'm sorry to hear this.
I totally agree with you, SK and China can destroy actors lives in a second...with lies on line!
One in particular had his life literally ended. I don't want to know what those people are into but it can't be good. Sounds evil to me. As for SK, their shows are getting darker and darker. Not liking it so much anymore. It's sad. they are going down the trail of Hollywood with woke and dark - does not end well.
I think people need to do a bit more investigation. While he did admit to not being a perfect student during his…
It's a crazy world these days with people behaving more crazy all the time. We are experiencing that right now with some quality young men (polite, hard working, decent people, in college) who are being blamed for the unaliving of their good long time friend Nolan Wells. they receive threats and even their families lives have changed, all because of unfounded accusations by certain people who like to race hate in the US. It's astonishing! I feel for this young man and am glad to know he's found a good life in the Philippines. I hear it's a beautiful country. I myself know how it is to be lied about and have people judge you for no reason. I wish him the best of luck!
Maybe he studied in Japan because they had more modern medical practices. Maybe as a phsysician, his Number One job was to treat people and help make them well. Maybe he thought what he "did" was for the good of his country.
This sounds like the stupid reparations argument in the US: That all white people (60% of population) should pay millions to all Black people (17%) in America for slavery when only a small minority of whites (1%) owned slaves, even a few were BLACK, and 600K fatally wounded & 900K wounded (some losing arms and legs) ALL fighting to end slavery. Maybe they should consider who started the slave trade and still practice it today. Can you guess?
We cannot take responsibility for any of what our ancestors did in their eras. We can only take responsibility for what we do now. I had no idea Korea was getting woke too. Yikes. That explains how more and more KDramas are not fun anymore.
BTW, my father was a POW "guest" of the Japanese during WWII (what we called the Pacific theater) and he never spoke ill of them. Ever. He recognized war is war & all people are human, no matter where they live. He taught me that when he refused to ever check 'race' on forms and wrote "human". While I'm at it, I'll tell you my dad was 1/4 Apache. For whatever it's worth.
I just want to know how the "king" made it into the future. I thought it would be fun to see him adapt to the present age. This Eun Woo guy looks like a brother to Chae Min - OR - is he the same character just a different actor? People here talk about scandals what not: this is funny. Hollywood has scandals all the time. Who cares. When you put young people in positions of making more money than they'd make in regular jobs plus people who turn them into idols, all kinds of misbehaviors come out. They are not the characters they play. People seem to forget that. I have favorites but I don't want to know if they're jerks or whatever in real life. I enjoy their work. Some of the most notable actors in history have some major character flaws. It's part of the industry.
I just watched Incurable Case of Love and I just couldn't buy her as a love interest for Dr Tendo. She looked like a 14-15 year old. I kept waiting for them to make her look older at some point, maybe even after she had studied abroad and had earned a confidence in herself. There's a few things I didn't like about it and I would love to see a remake with a different cast. I did enjoy the sister and that young guy who fell head over heels for her. That was cute. With the dr and that nurse it was borderline creepy.
I'm noting some similarity in some of the "filler/drama" music with Vincenzo. Hard to describe, but when Kim is walking determinedly in slow motion. That one in particular seemed familiar with Vincenzo. Anyone have any information on this?
You can order it on Amazon at a decent price. And it's good enough for a bulk order.
That's what I did: I wanted to try it, accidently got the capuccino first, (thought the packaging was just different) and then the ones they have on the show. they do come in handy!
No, Russia does not currently support Israel. While the two nations maintain diplomatic and economic ties, Russia’s official stance has shifted to strong criticism of Israel’s military actions in Gaza and active support for Palestinian factions, including Hamas. Funny that Israel has a diverse population, is pro pride, while Palestinians will throw them off buildings and Hamas is dedicated to the eradication of the J people. But that's not genocide, is it? Read their Charter. It can be found with a simple online search.
Yes. Two of the most hated groups in the world: One begins with the letter J and the other with the letter C. Throw in "W" if you want too, though W has nothing to do with being C or J. The key word starts with H and causes D(ivision).
Russia does not support Israel. This show has nothing to do with Israel or Gaza or Hamas. It's spy vs spy - Communist NK vs Constitutional Republic SK. Russia is highly centralized authoritarian regime dominated by Putin. Local bad guys think they're the big dogs but they find out they're not.
At least watch a couple episodes and decide for yourself if you want to watch anymore or not. I and many others are enjoying it: it's action but it's also funny and the whole premise is cool. He's a quiet dad who turns out to be a real badass. Who knew? That, "You don't know who I am or what I'm capable of but you're going to find out" trope. Gotta love the crazy big guy too.
There seem to be fewer and fewer great shows anymore and this is one of them. I'm really getting a kick out of Yoon Kyung-ho. Starting to see more of him as well as another guy who is also in this show Yoon Byung-hee. I'm always a fan of character actors who play supporting roles.
