Good start, deplorable second half part, overall poor.

The story has a very good start, the first episodes are great.
Unfortunately, after about episode 5, the quality deteriorates fast.
The story goes to standard expected stereotypes. I do not understand
why it has to get so moralistically, why everything has to turn to
the best of everybody and everything. It is not only far from every
conceivable reality, but it gets extremely boring. I endured it till the end,
but I often always fall asleep watching it. Not even the excellent actors
can save the disaster the writer creates. Poor.

Excellent Theatral Creation

At the beginning I was thinking that this drama was written especially for the main female lead Yagi Rikako.
Her acting is absolutely outstanding! The story is created in such a way and the camera work focuses on the
evolution of her emotions. She is able to show not only thousand shades of love but also surprise, friendship,
worry, anger, sadness and much more I an remember now. It does not matter if you find her cute or not,
everything is about her miraculous capacity to express a huge scale of sentiments in such a small amount of time.
I do not know how much training and how many sets were used, but when we compare with some other
very popular dramas running in parallel now, we see the huge difference. This drama is not about cute actors,
mode, trends or a lot of kyun moments. SUre, cuteness and love are at the start, but
with the time going, some other themes than love develop: finding the self, braeking out
from the long established path, taking decisions and stand for them, etc.

The music and the soundtrack are also carefully chosen. The used language is also beautiful,
it was an absolute pleasure to listen to the actors. I add a million thanks and tribute to the subber who
draw attention to and made this wonderful piece of art understandable by a large audience!

This drama is 160% worth its viewing time!

Excellent!

This show goes directly to the staple of shows that I liked the most.

It has an excellent and realistic (which is rather seldom to Japanese dramas) story.
It gives a very precise feeling of the corona time, of a difficult life and family,
friends and work hardship. Despite this, it always carries a bit of humor!

The acting is excellent. The main line has Sawa Nimura who gives
an absolutely brilliant interpretation of a role which is diametrical opposed
to that she had in "Watashi no Oyome-kun" but surprisingly close to her role in
"Manatsu no Cinderella". I can't wait to watch her in another show!

I also liked the format of 15 minutes per episode - it is great for practicing Japanese,
though this was a very tough one because it is naturally spoken almost entirely in
Kansai-Ben. It was hard, but very authentic and lovely!

I liked this drama so much, that I wasn't able to wait until it was subbed!
In a word, this drama is 300% worth its time watching!

Passion for Words

This show is an hymn of love for words, for language and for dictionaries.
A few excellent and beautiful actors do a great job with a delicate and very carefully written script.
Since the words are the main focus, they are gracefully used. Delicate emotions and feelings are
properly suggested and the suitable music is in place.
The camera work is very careful and perfect suited to the actors and script.
If you love words, language and books and if you are not demanding for fast developments or
extreme situations or passionate romance, then you'll be satisfied by this show.

The great acting of the leads fills in hours of empty story

I watched the show mainly for Jeon Jong Seo that played here the FL.
The show lives from the acting of the FL and ML - mainly arguing with each other all the time.
The story offers nothing more, 100% foreseeable and boring, it looks like only
a draft written during the after lunch break. Without the FL and the professional filming
and composition I had drop it after the first episode. Now I've seen it all and I am still unclear
if I should recommend it.

Philosophical, positive, surprising

After reading the synopsis I wasn't expecting much of this drama.
However, it is not at all the standard story. It takes several surprising turns,
it is very positive even if it has a lot of sad moments, too.

The story is assembled in a modern, very clever way and puts the power
of the actors in the wright light, giving them the possibility to expand.

The two main leads do a wonderful work, even if they are very young
and still in development. I bet, we'll see and hear great of them,
even if I am not so fond of them.

The soundtrack underlines the important moment and the closing theme
is of course a lead to remember. Sadly, I wasn;t able to find the original
soundtrack until now.

Even it is not a light one, this drama is 100% worth the time watching it.

Excellent music for an alert thriller

Three reasons for this drama is a must see:

1. The soundtrack is a master piece. Actually, I came to watch it because I liked the music very much
2. The story is keeping you alert, it goes several time in unexpected directions.
3. The acting is excellent, not only for the main leads.

A drama that is worth its watching time.

I have not seen the original K-Version; it should not matter too much if you saw it,
because at least two of the previous reasons stand by themselfs.

Worth its time!

I saw this movie during a Festival of Japanese Movies.

Directed by Keitaro Sakon, the movie catches his audience like a storm.
A young woman with a very strong character pushes all strings of her psychological
ability in order to kick out of resignation the members of her family.
While pursuing her aims she hurts the feelings of others and of herself in unexpected way.

I liked very much the interpretation of the main lead (Morita Kokoro) but also the other
actors did a great job. There was no second when I felt bored or when I had to excuse the creators for their art or choices.

The final of the movie is open, it is fully unclear what should we expect to happen next.
Surprisingly, this open end does not feel unsatisfactory!
This movie is definitely worth the time invested in watching it!

Unexpected funny

This series is surprisingly funny, it excels in almost every component,
despite the fact that it kept very modest.
The name and the plot description do not seem promising, everything looks
simple, but in reality every detail is mutinously prepared. Watching it, it felt
like feeling a sweet spring breeze. The excellent acting of the main leads didn't felt
forced, even in the situations that may not simply occur. The story is fun and warmly
captivating, the camera work is kept simple and efficient - everything leads to relaxing
enjoyable fun. This show is 100% worth its time watching!

Must watch!

This series benefits from a set of the actually best Japanese actors,
a clever story full of gags that perfectly match actors characters and the story.
I liked every minute of the series, even the final was not the standard boring one
that is typical for Japanese dramas. Also the song used as the closing theme isn't only
a good one, but it also matches the rest. The camera work and most of the details
are very careful.

This series is 200% worth its watching time!

Realistic

This is one of the best dramas of the season. At the beginning I had big doubts, because all the shows with a theme reated to an orchestra are writte so naively that anybody in conctact with a real orchestra and real music cannot bear watching it.
But this is so much different! The constrast e.g to 'Reversal Orchesra' cannot be larger, even if they start with a similar dilemma. "Goodby Maestro" is greately written and directed: they avoid almost all situations where they cannot make it near to realistic. The actors are also doing a great job, not only the well known names, but also the young actors!
The music is carefully chosen: the classical one and the modern inlets are great and perfectly suited to the moments they have to appear. It is impressive that some of the big actors wentso far that they learned a few German phrases - it is not obvious at all for the big shots. On the other hand, the "German" and "Italian" actors were really bad...

This show is 100% worth watching it and even more if you like classical music and orchestras.

almost everything is missing

This is another beautiful example how excellent actors plus budget plus a good idea might add to nothing.
The episodes feel void. Either a reduction to two episodes or better dialogues or some sort of filling might have
help. Instead of this we have 11 long episodes of nothing. It might be still nice to simply watch the beautiful actors
and listen for their voices, in case you really have nothing else better to watch or to do in life.
From my point of view, it does not deserves attention even for 1% of its running time. Big disappointment!

Just Kyun!

This is a real "summer show": there is no depth, but it has nice views, beautiful and very skilled actors.
As somebody commented here, unlike another shows, every single moment could happen
in real life, well almost every. It is full of "kyun" moments, pleasant music. There is practically
no action beside the silly love triangles and each episode is rather self contained.
Only the episode 11 is very forced and extremely deceiving.

The best thing about this approach is that the used language is very simple. Since the
actors are great and the situations are lovely, this is an ideal show to be seen again and again
in order to practice Japanese listening for very simple rather causal language. There are
not many dramas like it!

The three FL are excellent!

Surprising and overranging most of the best school dramas

Due to the title and pictures I wasn't expecting much of this drama.
Yet since the ever first minutes I understood that I hit a hidden gem.

This is not the usual school drama, it is none of the boring ever repeating silly and exaggerated stories like
several very trendy ones right now. It is full of humor, self irony, hilarious realistic personalities,
real seeming situations, out of the box solutions, great music, fast peace. The acting is fantastic
and the camera work is at the very top level, plus a non conformist realization. Audacious production,
it has the potential of getting many praises and a huge audience.

This rather long (11 episodes of about 43 minutes each) is 300% worth the time watching it!

overrated

This drama got a lot of attention and top ranking positions from various comparing sites, so I expected a lot more form it as it actually has.

The acting is very good, the chosen pieces for the soundtrack are excellent and refreshing (almost only parts of classical music).
The team had for sure classical music counseling, because many scenes concerning the actual play in orchestra are very carefully conceived and filmed. However, the leaders of the team for sure ignored these counsels several times. For the sake of some (arguably) unnecessarily tension creation they made such terrible decisions! Several situations and scenes in the first half of the drama are such ridiculously wrong! Even a person having nothing in common with a classical orchestra can easily realize that that situations/decisions are strangely far of any conceivable reality. There were so bad moments that I was several time on the point of stopping watching the next episode. However, during the second part, these moments became sparser.

Again, only due to the great acting and good human qualities this drama is an enjoyable one.
However, there is no depth and practically no difference in value to an easy going summer drama.
So, if you do not expect much, this might be about 99% worth the time watching it.
