Anyone know in the timeline when/how LBY's mother/aunt Huo Jun Hua dies? I know the bite scene happens right after. Just curious if she was killed or died from an illness, etc.

That's really interesting. It seems a bit petty for the drama version of LBY to do something like that, but I can't imagine drama version of the Emperor ever voluntarily laying "a hand" on him either, so I'm interested to see if/how it was adjusted.

Anyone know what events lead up to that from the book? If yes- plz reply with spoiler. I'm just super curious where it falls in the timeline of events.

Yeah, if you scroll up in the discussions, you can find a lot of translated excerpts from the novel. Some of them are *chefs kiss* and help keep me from going full feral between each episode.

I don't know where in the drama it'll get placed, but I imagine during the last quarter since once he returns, he needs to win her back. I'm not too familiar with that portion of the novel though- the google translations I found were terrible so I gave up.

not to mention, the story is taking its time peeling back the layers behind what actually happened in Gu, which will ultimately lead to his revenge arc, so I can't imagine they'll rush it.

I think we'll get at least a few, because the revenge arc happens 3 days before they're supposed to get married, so they would have been engaged for some time.

Yeah... I think LBY is just...so...green with relationships and in handling CSS. He's a seasoned General but he's also painfully naïve with how to treat a woman. I believe this greener arc with him regarding CSS will be really quick. Its already changed a ton from their first interactions. Judging from the trailer for Ep 27 tomorrow, it'll get worse before it gets better lol.

idk, I'd normally agree, but in the case of the scenes we've seen thus far, I do feel like it pushes the narrative forward. Each instance seems to have served a purpose, whether to show a character's development or to give us some insight into another character or storyline. I've enjoyed them so far. I was especially happy about LBJ stepping in, but I also think it's important that people were uncomfortable with it, just as CSS was. Ultimately, while he did it with good intentions, he needs to learn to adapt to CSS. I think, like in the case with his telling a joke and the preview for Ep 28, he's getting there.
