@etgl1 - Respectfully, did you read the book? The drama has only gone off the novel in fairly small ways. The changes have not taken away from the overall plot, and the main points are all still intact.
Can someone who has read the novel tell me about the war LBY is going to at the end of episode 42 ??
He goes with Cui You (the nice man who has been beside LBY's mom this whole time) on an expedition to Shouchen to reprimand the rebels led by Peng Zhen (this is an extension of what was going on with the Wang father/son situation earlier- although a bit out of order since the conflict with Wang family is later down the road in the novel).
There are many scenes which director made a simple theme seem so profound and cause us to be invested - What are…
1. LBY helping CSS put her foot in the stirrup when they had their first private interaction. 2. CSS being unafraid of LBY's true face when he was accosting the deserted soldiers who tried to kill CSS and her actually coming to his level when she offered to kill them herself. 3. CSS acknowledging she is the galaxy and LBY is the sun, together they make a whole. 4. All of the moments you mentioned.
- amazing characters- great acting- great storytelling- really funny- great music- great camera work and directingThere,…
Thats so interesting. I actually think the music is nearly perfect throughout the entirety of the drama to the point that I've put a lot of effort into trying to find each OST. I haven't been this captivated by a dramas OST since The Untamed and Ashes of Love.
He’s one of my favorites, if not my most favorite, Chinese actor. At such a young age, he’s doing what a lot…
Yesss. So glad I'm not the only one totally living for Wu Lei. I'm so impressed by his acting and his ability to emote so strongly with just his eyes. The only other Chinese actor that I find equally as captivating, is Chen Kun (he was amazzzzing in The Rise of Phoenixes) .
Yes. It's explained that the pain he felt was the same if not more than the pain that CSS felt.
Oh, I'm not blaming him at all. I empathize with him. He's in a terrible position between having to punish LBY for his wrongdoings and feeling sorry for him because he see's LBY as his own son, and now also realizes that the man he viewed as a son is also the son of his sworn brother who died for his empire.
How is Lost in Kunlun Mountains? I heard there were a lot of editing issues for the first few episodes. Has that…
Definitely great points! Had I only given LLTG a 5-episode chance, I don't think I would have watched it because it was so slow to start. Same with The Untamed. It was way too goofy for the first few episodes. I'll give them a shot, thanks! I really love Xu Kai and Cheng Yi.
I noticed the whole subplot with the Wang family and Lord Peng Zhen occurs in Ep 33 (with the start of the battle…
I hope so too! I think we will because that is when she sees the birthmark on his ankle (when she's cleaning his wounds and washing his feet), which later proves who he is. I'm also sure we'll see that rescue because there are clips of it in the 3rd released trailer (the ambush in the woods), and it's important to the plot since we later find out about Lou Ben. He's leaving off to battle in Ep 41 and her road trip with her siblings and QiQi is alluded to in the trailer for Ep 42, so I think the ambush/rescue will be at the tail end of Ep 42, or right at the beginning of Ep 43
BOOK SPOILER /Discussion of plot line for those who've read
I noticed the whole subplot with the Wang family and Lord Peng Zhen occurs in Ep 33 (with the start of the battle with Wan Song Bai going to apprehend the Wang father/son) and in Ep 35, with Wan Song Bai returning, the court fighting over how the consequences should be divided out (and who should take the blame), the downfall of the Wang family, and CSS intervening to help Wang Ling and her mother. This was a fairly large excerpt from the novel (Chapters 124-127). In the novel, these events take place *after* all of next week's episodes (I can tell from watching up to episode 42 trailer).
I thought it was interesting. The director pretty cleanly (IMO) condensed a fairly long-winded side plot while keeping the important notes in, to push the plot along. I'm really excited about that because what happens before and after is very interesting.
*makes me WEAK*.
