whenever I think jena and hyein will be bestie just then.....🤧
Honestly, for somebody that uses Hye-in like a chess piece, I also kinda feel like she's often surprisingly "friendly" with her. I just think there's an obvious difference with how Je-na acts with Hye-in vs how she acts with literally everyone else.
Honestly, at this point I'm hoping that Jinwook is actually just evil, because it might actually make him interesting. Like, I'm sorry, but right now he's just 50 shades of bland and boring. They try so hard to make him this sexy mysterious guy, but that's literally all there is to him, and it just feels so forced. It doesn't help that his "mystery" isn't all that interesting, and that his plot just feels so detached from everything else. Why should we care? And don't even get me started on this joke of a romance between him and Je-na.
Episode 4 was kinda depressing. There's no real satisfaction or justice in any of the outcomes, but that's also precisely why it feels so real, because they don't feel the need to give it some kind of optimistic spin. I like it.
Do I have to watch season 1? Or I can start from season 2?
S2 very much assumes you've seen S1 (and that you actually remember it, because they don't bother giving you a recap). It's highly recommended to have seen it because pretty much every storyline is a continuation from S1, or happens because of the events from S1.
Heck, it's kinda telling when the two new guys haven't actually added anything meaningful to the season because the writers haven't quite figured out how to involve them in something they weren't actually a part of.
I really don’t understand Jenna. She pretends to be good with hyein sometimes but at the end of today’s ep…
I just think Jenna would rather use, or purposely look down on, Hye-in than admit that they might actually be friends (or something close to it). Jenna is a very cold and closed off person that uses people to get what she wants, and pushes others away before they can get too close, but I also think Hye-in is about the only person that actually seems capable of reaching her genuine side. It's a complicated dynamic, but that's exactly what makes it interesting (and why I love it).
It doesn't help that the FL's love interest is kinda boring and Jena's love interest is a goofy high schooler…
That's exactly it. They try so hard to make him look hot and sexy (seriously, what even was that scene of him shooting that gun while smoking), as if they're desperate to have people make edits about him and Jenna (which, sadly, is working), nevermind that Jenna literally does not seem interested at all. I honestly feel it would be out of character if they suddenly have Jenna actually have feelings for this guy or reveal that she wasn't just using him, but I fear that's exactly where this is going.
S1 was refreshing because it was never about that, nor was it trying to be. It gave you small crumbs to do with as you want, but it was never interested in romance stories, which is also exactly what made it work. But now it's like the creators aren't confident enough in their own work, so they suddenly feel the need to force it in.
At this point I'm hoping that all of this remains one-sided, because that's about the only thing that can save it, so the drama can ceep the focus where it should be.
Feel like I'm the only one that's actually really enjoying this season. It's top-notch entertainment, just like season 1, as long as you don't take it too seriously. They can keep the romance though, I don't care about it.
I'm surprised nobody has brought up that the school looks completely different than last season. Even the exterior of it is totally different. Like, there's no way this is the same school.
Somang was just Hye-in's friend/ ally, nobody really important. Do Eon was Hae In's boyfriend (the woman that slept with Yul-hee's boyfriend Woo-jin and landed in a coma after she fell of the roof during an altercation with Yul-hee). Hae-in woke up at the end of S1, so all these characters will probably be important.
There’s no Lee Somang but they added a brother? Lol 😂😂
Can't even be mad at that because Somang was pretty useless in the grand scheme of things, even if he was likeable. Not that I have much hope the brother will fare any better. It just seems like the writers want Hye-in to have a loyal ally.
Beautiful ending. I've been wondering since the beginning if and how they would address the war, but I like the ultimate message of "war might be around the corner, but you should enjoy the small moments", because this entire drama was basically about that. Whether they survived the war or not isn't really important, what's important is that they enjoyed the small moments that life gave them. It's bittersweet, but also beautiful and fitting, I think.
Honestly had to laugh at that scene of the FL's new friend being at the ML's place. They really tried to make that look shady with the ominous music and all.
A rather bittersweet, and open ending. But a very fitting one I think.
Anybody else catch the pinky promise moment during the end credits? I thought that was a nice little detail, and it actually gives me more hope that these two will figure it out somehow. I mean, Richard & Kaede seemed to have something going on, so it's certainly possible.
I don't actually have a problem with Ho-su losing his hearing, but I wish the drama was more consistent with his hearing problem. It was such a big thing in the first 2 episodes, but after that the drama just kind of seemed to forget about it, or ignore it, until now because it seems like the writer finally remembered that they wanted to tell this story.
Are Dong-ju and Han-na ever actually going to have a meaningful conversation or is this drama just going to continue pulling 20 tropes & cliches in every episode? I swear, I'm banging my head against the wall because this entire romance is build upon tropey scenes and literally nothing else.
It's really good. Like REALLY good.But... I'm a little disappointed at how they handled Mi-Ji ex-boyfriend reveal.…
Honestly, how they handled that was pretty weird. Like, it's a good plot twist, but it's like they were literally dancing around the topic so they wouldn't have to explicitly say it.
I can't even blame people for being confused, because it was pretty confusing imo.
