Nope, that wasn't part of the plan. Je-yi was busy enacting her "Plan B", which Seul-gi wasn't involved in (and was mostly in the dark about). Seul-gi swallowing the pills was her own decision, and I highly assume she made that decision to protect Ye-ri (as she knew that Ye-ri's plan would also end up incriminating her, which is why Seul-gi proposed the plan to use herself as bait in the first place during plan A). Seul-gi's plan kinda messed with Je-yi's grand plan, so she had to improvise when Seul-gi swallowed the pills, leading to the surgery. Obviously this led to Seul-gi missing the exam, which neither Seul-gi nor Ye-ji wanted.
Basically this whole thing became a mess because neither Seul-gi or Ye-ji properly communicated with each other, as each were making secret moves of their own to protect the other.
Wait I don't understand one thing,in ep 16, why did Seulgi swallowed the pills? Was it a part of the plan she…
She swallowed it so nobody could get the exam questions. Je-yi needed to improvise because she needed proof that her dad was involved in stealing the questions. It wasn't part of the plan, as Seul-gi certainly didn't plan on missing the exam (she was rather upset about this).
Did anybody else noticed that Jaeyi when she rides her skateboard she uses her left foot. But on the last scene…
Not sure if the person on the skateboard is Seul-gi, but you could definitely interpret that Je-yi was smiling at Seul-gi at the very end. I don't know why else she would be smiling honestly.
Can someone spoil me the ending? 😠I lost interest after episode 6 and dropped it and I wanna know if I should…
SPOILERS
Je-yi jumps off a cliff with her sister to stage her own death. Her sister is found, as Je-yi had put a life jacket on her, but Je-yi isn't. Je-yi's dad is arrested, but he gets out rather quickly. A few months later, Seul-gi receives a box containing shoes and an envelope. In that envelope is the Korea University pin (so she knows the box is from Je-yi), and a photo of Je-yi's location. At this location we see Je-yi, who turns around and smiles. The end.
Oh, and Ye-ri and Choi Kyung are now co-parenting Je-yi's dog.
Am I crazy or was the end a little dumb. Maybe, MAYBE if you can say that the father fell for the death fakeout…
Je-yi wanted to escape the toxic environment she was in, and she believed staging her own death was the only way to escape from that environment, and her father. It was the choice she made for herself, and it's the one that ultimately made her happy, because she's finally free. You could aegue whether it's dumb, or reckless, but it's perfectly in line with what her character would do.
Btw why is everyone asking for S2? Was the ending not good enough and with an open ending or are they having a…
I consider it a happy & open ending. I think people just wanted more, but I don't think it was needed. I also don't really see the need for a season 2. I can see why people want it, but I also think that what people want isn't necessarily what this drama is about.
I expected a way more heartbreaking ending honestly, especially considering the twisted nature & thriller aspect of the drama. But like, Je-yi literally told Seul-gi where she was (and that last shot of Je-yi smiling could even be interpreted as her smiling to Seul-gi who may have been there). This is a happy (& slightly open) ending, and you won't hear me complaining.
It sucks that Je-yi's dad isn't in prison, but let's be real here, he was never gonna go to prison for a murder he didn't actually commit. He's too rich for that. This way, Je-yi is free, and can still be in contact with Seul-gi.
Would I have loved an actual reunion instead of an implied one, or an explicit confession, or kiss? Of course, but we all knew there were romantic feelings there, and I'm satisfied with what we got, especially since this was never actually a romance drama.
Every time I watch this I can't stop thinking about how the ML is essentially just a massive stalker. Is that…
Oh, it's definitely romantic, because that's how his stalking is being portayed here. I wish this was a complex tale about the blurred lines between love and obsession that actually properly adressed how creepy some of his actions are, but it's just not. I'll honestly be shocked if he's ever actually properly called out on all his behavior.
She had like 15 minutes of screentime in these two episodes (not counting the repeated scenes from episode 2).…
True, though most information given for both leads has been background story so far (that's why I find it weird that episode 4 didn't cover the FL's background story in the years after she left school). But yeah, when the main plot really kicks in, all the criticism about the lack of focus on the FL is probably just going to become even bigger.
The summary tells us, pretty much, that she already had a thing for him in high school as well. So what's likely…
I mean, I'm sorry, but they're going to have to do better than the "I stared at him for 5 seconds so now I'm in love too" surprise plot twist. They didn't meet, and didn't talk in the past (unless they suddenly go back on that), so I'd very much like some proper developent to buy this romance, even when it's not the focus. Sure, it's not a romance in the classic sense, but the plot is still based on the idea of romance, since he's motivated by his feelings for her. But his feelings haven't really been developed either. This drama needs to build some kind of meaningful connection between the two leads that's not just "we stared at each other" for a romance, or a romantic ending, to even be remotely believable.
She had like 15 minutes of screentime in these two episodes (not counting the repeated scenes from episode 2).…
Yeah, that's exactly my problem too. It's why her lack of screentime just makes her feel like the prize the male lead wins at the end for accomplishing his goal, because they aren't even trying to build a connection here, so it doesn't really feel like she has any agency in this scenario. If this story is told mostly from the pov of the ML, I think it can only really work if both leads actually have scenes together, or if a meaningful connection is made in another way, but that's not the case.
You brought up the perfect solution, and I've been thinking about this too: why aren't they just chatting online (even if it is anonimously)? It would make perfect sense since the FL is mostly inside all day, so I just find it weird how they're not doing this? Like, pretty sure her knowing that she has an online friend that's is in her corner would be more meaningful than him fixing a random streetlight, but whatever.
She had like 15 minutes of screentime in these two episodes (not counting the repeated scenes from episode 2).…
There are 6 episodes left, that's 6 hours. If rom-com movies can make a convincing romance in 90 minutes, I'm sure this drama can do it in 6 hours. Whether it wants to is another question. And while the synopsis does kinda read like that, it also constantly talks about the FL, because she's still the central character who everything revolves around. But when your central character starts to feel like a side character & a mere plot device, I think there's a bit of a problem with the way you're structuring and telling your story.
She had like 15 minutes of screentime in these two episodes (not counting the repeated scenes from episode 2).…
Except it's not really because we've broken that pov multiple times now? And if it is, what are they trying to do here? How are you supposed to build a romance like this? Is the FL just a plot device and a prize to be won if he succeeds?
Honestly, the thing that's really getting to me is how the side characters are getting way more screen time than…
She had like 15 minutes of screentime in these two episodes (not counting the repeated scenes from episode 2). Yes, I counted, because it bothered me too. Like, I was expecting episode 4 to be about her and the years in between, but I guess we're just skipping that?
My problem isn't the slow pacing, but that the FL feels like a side character despite the plot revolving around her, while the ML gets promoted to professional stalker. It almost feels like the drama is more interested in side characters & side plots than it is in the FL and her life. As far as I know, this is still a romance, yet the only romance we get is based upon him stalking her. I don't need them to meet necessarily, but there's gotta be a way to build a connection here? Or is she just supposed to fall in love with him at the end because "he saved her"? I get that a big part of the plot is the ML trying to figure stuff out, which is great, but I'd like for the FL to be more than just a prize to be won at the end if he succeeds.
Hello can you tell me about this question ?1. When the ML and FL are together ?2. When the ML and FL are breaking…
1. Episode 8/ beginning of episode 9.
2. They never really break-up once they've gotten together. Any conflict that comes up between them from that point onwards is quickly resolved.
3, 4 & 5. There are love triangles, but the ML and FL don't have feelings for other people. It's mostly just misunderstandings. 2ML & 2FL are both good and likeable people.

The most shocking thing in episode 5 was when the episode 6 preview made it seem like Mi-jeong might actually get more than 2 minutes of screentime.
