It depends, the first 7 episodes aren’t anything special, but if you manage to get through them, it becomes more interesting later on. Also, there are a lot of annoying characters in the drama, and some of them stick around until the end. For me, this drama so far (episode 33) is about a 7.9–8. It remains to be seen what will happen in the last 7 episodes…
Today’s episodes were very bloody, I hope the 13th Prince will have a horrible death. His father is awful too. Likewise, Yan Xun only proves how cowardly and useless he is, he doesn’t deserve the title of King of Great Yan, he hasn’t done anything for his people. General Huan is awesome, she truly carries herself like a real general. I hope she gets more roles like this in the future.
Off-topic, what is this with the cdrama trend lately: casting handsome actors as villains. Hard to hate them this…
I think it ultimately comes down to personal taste. For example, I liked Zhang Kang Le in "Legend of the Female General", but many people didn’t. In Rebirth, though, I don’t like him, I’m not exactly sure why. Maybe it’s the contrast between his looks (very handsome) and his character development (which feels weak and not worthy of a king).

I understand your point, but from my perspective: 1. I don’t think there was a real need for her to meet Yan Xun alone in the first place. She is the Queen of Ximeng, but the key figure in any alliance or mediation with Great Yan is still the King, Zhuge Yue. He already suspected that Yan Xun had ulterior motives beyond the alliance, so the situation felt avoidable. 2. Similarly, there wasn’t much reason for her to personally investigate that ‘witch.’ Zhuge Yue had already looked into it beforehand and had suspicions that it originated in Great Yong.
I’m not trying to put down the FL, but in episodes 30 and 31, I didn’t really like how her storyline was written.
I am really disappointed in Chu Qiao in today’s episodes, 30–31. 1. Her meeting with Yan Xun and the fact that she allowed him to hug her... 2. She let herself be fooled by that witch...
I need to take a break from watching this, the episodes are too short. I need to let more episodes pile up so I can binge them all at once. Are there any interesting dramas you’re watching right now?
I haven’t cried this much over a drama since "Moonlight Mystique". The plot is very confusing, with lots of twists and turns. This is only the second time I’ve seen Tian Jia Rui, the first was in MJTY, but he really delivers. He impressed me a lot in this drama. I hope he gets more great leading roles in the future. After so much sadness, I’m still hoping for a happy ending for everyone, they deserve it!

Still, I’m not sure how the drama will develop from here (aside from Li Yan’s storyline), and we’re only halfway through. We’ve already seen a lot of battle scenes, and the ML and FL don’t want to kill the 2nd ML because of their shared past.
