the scene where dech's piece of shit father finds them and beats mek up could've been very impactful, but somehow it ended up being kinda goofy. the way dech was just standing there idiotically calling mek's name, then supposedly was held back, except the one holding him, a young strong lad, was some old guy?? but what did you want, you're going to ask, for him to throw himself in harm's way and bodily protect mek? well, yes! unless the show wanted to portray him a bit cowardly and indecisive. but honestly i think it was just filmed badly
also him fully believing he can just talk to his da and change his bigoted/violent ways... babyboy, how come you've been living with your father your whole life and still not realise what kind of person he is? do you not see him habitually beating up servants and constantly degrading everyone around him? if this man magically does 180 by the end of the series and starts treating mek/rati/rati's auntmom with kindness, this show is going on my shitlist
at first i thought i'd watch only the queen of queens (renamed to diva deva mata?) storyline, but after seeing the official trailer you know what? i think i'll be tuning in for the entirety of it. looks so camp in the best way
romance not being at the forefront of the story doesn't mean there's no plot. the plot is all of these characters…
there's no need to be this aggressive. you mentioned hot dudes so i assumed - maybe wrongly - that it's what you care about the most: hot dudes and their romances. now you're also putting words in my mouth: i'm in no way shape or form a boc stan or a stan of certain actors. i'm mostly here for the story, and this one interests me a lot because i don't know much about thailand of 60s so i'm curious to learn more and see how it all plays out. as for the plot, i see no point in arguing about this because we obviously have an entirely different understandings of what is considered a plot of a story
No Grindr in the 70s, so they leave secret codes in poems in newspapers??? Damn that policeman and reporter are…
romance not being at the forefront of the story doesn't mean there's no plot. the plot is all of these characters of different classes and statuses being somehow involved in the political and socioeconomic unrest in the country which was basically a military dictatorship at that time
they talked about it in the episode. most of the servants are basically slave labour, they "belong" to their masters. only some get a bit of an allowance
