Law genre at its best!

When I finished the first episode, I immediately thought of the similarity between this drama and the variety show ‘Busted’. This drama is basically the drama version and the longer version of Busted in my opinion. So if anyone of you loves that variety show, you definitely need to check this out!

There are a few things that surprised me while watching this drama (Fyi, I didn’t open MDL or even other links about this drama. All I know is that this drama has great ratings and many people loved it. I knew nothing about the storyline and only knew some of the casts that was going to be in it. And thankfully, I didn’t encounter that much spoilers on social media about this drama. So in conclusion, I had a little to no information about this drama before watching it.):

1. The one that surprises me most: The casts
Please don’t open MDL before watching this, because it’ll ruin the surprise (and a plot twist in some later episodes). I’m telling you this here to warn you all about the brilliant plot twist that left me speechless when I watched the episode.

2. The storyline
I’ve never expected this drama to be fully about murder mystery. Don’t get me wrong, I’m basically in love with anything about murder mysteries, but this drama just brought it to a whole new level. This drama doesn’t show you the perfect protagonist that could solve all the hidden mysteries flawlessly, or that one protagonist who always works alone and doesn’t need any help from others, but instead it shows you how the the main protagonist (Professor Yang Jong Hoon) really needs the help from his fellow professor (Professor Kim Eun Suk), his silly lawyer (Park Geun Tae), the funny photocopy guy (Sung Dong Il) and most importantly all his students (Kang Sol A, Kang Sol B, Han Jun Hwi, Seo Ji Ho, Jeon Ye Seul, Min Bok Gi and Cho Ye Bum). What’s better is how the drama shows you a super dedicated teacher who’s willing to do anything just to help all his students know better about the law. He’s discipline and unpredictable—he doesn’t care about anything else besides stating his point of teaching law to his students.

3. The genre
I expected this drama to be dark and serious, since most law dramas tend to be long and philosophical, and full of theories that doesn’t really stick to my head that long, but this drama managed to bring some good comedies in between the scenes—it was short, but it was rewarding. The first few episodes was pretty hard to watch actually, the dialogue were full of theories and all the actors were basically rapping all those theories out. But as you go on, this drama explained all those difficult theories by applying them to real cases where the viewers could understand the meaning of those theories easier. That’s what I love about this drama, and this is what differs them with other law dramas.

I’m a sucker for friendship dramas. This drama doesn’t really focus on the friendship, but the way all the characters team up to defend one another is just crazy great! Sol B’s character development was just executed perfectly, and she officially becomes one of my favorite characters here in this drama. This drama teaches you to be fair and just, and they teaches you (especially those who work/will work for the law) to not be affected emotionally while dealing with the law. Don’t let your emotions affect your decisions. This drama shows you the law from another perspective, and it was very exciting to watch!

The reason why I couldn’t give this drama an excellent score is because some of the scenes couldn’t really get my attention. I always loved the scenes where Sol A, Jun Hwi, Sol B, Ji Ho, Ye Seul, Bok Gi, Ye Bum is together, and all the scenes involving them coming up with a great plan, but the scenes with Ko Hyeong Su and the flashbacks with Seo Byeong Ju is rather boring for me. Nonetheless, the court scenes and the friendship scenes were super duper great! Great casting, great story and the cinematography was also spot-on! Overall, a 9.5/10 for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“This was the sunniest moment of our lives.”

As a high school student myself, who’s going through some rough times through adulthood, I am beyond amazed by this film. Not only does this film resembles a great friendship and solidarity, but it made you feel like you’re going through the story yourself.

It’s been a long time since I last wrote a review here, since I’ve been caught up in school assignments, and was currently in a Western-movie/series marathon, but I know this film is just perfect for a movie day with my cousins and I need to watch this movie as soon as possible. And yes, this movie is perfect to watch anytime, anywhere and with anyone! You’ll definitely laugh out loud watching this one, your eyes would definitely drop a tear or two, and you’ll smile and feel nostalgic.

The friendship portrayed in this movie may be the best I’ve ever seen, and the casts were just undescribably perfect in every scene. I’m a sucker for friendship movies, and as a fan, I think this movie deserves to be seen by everyone. Thank you to everyone that made this movie happen—all the casts, the directors, the producers and writers, the staffs. Overall, a solid 100/10! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Short and sweet! What a perfect way to say goodbye ♥️

In the palace, everyone has secrets.

Thank you, PD-nim and all the writers and staffs for making this special episodes for us! I’m thrilled to know that every side characters has their own backstory, and that most of the main characters which I adore lives a happy ending! The comedy, the romance, and the heartwarming scenes are all here in just two short episodes, but yet, it totally captured my heart. The ending was beyond beautiful, I don’t think I took enough screenshots of it! Anyways, a 10/10 for this short one! Loved it!

The first historical drama that successfully captured my heart!

As you can all see, my watchlist has literally no historical dramas/movies in my completed list or my plan to watch list. I’ve only seen Moon Lovers which failed me at the first few episodes, and sadly I had to drop them. Since then, I tend to avoid watching historical dramas as I thought it wasn’t my cup of tea. I tried watching the King’s Case Note once, and yet again I dropped them. And eventually I came with a thought that every historical dramas/films are B.O.R.I.N.G. However, then comes Mr. Queen, which I heard was really different from other historical dramas with the eccentric female lead and a comedic storyline. Who would’ve thought this drama would caught my eye—the eyes of someone who once avoids historical dramas.

The first episode didn’t really wow me to be honest, but oddly enough, I continued until the fifth episode, the eighth episode, the sixteenth episode, and eventually it lead me to the very last episode. I have to admit that some of the episodes in the middle (Ep 15-17) is a little boring as it focuses more on the dark side of the Palace instead of focusing on the King and Queen, but the trio—Court Lady Choi, Hong Yeon and the Queen herself—is something that always made me excited to watch a new episode. The side characters in the story left a big impact on the whole drama, as it made the drama more alive, more entertaining, and more beautiful!

The casts were all amazing! Shin Hye Sun killed the role, I really couldn’t think of any other actress that could pull off this role better than her! And what can I say for Cha Chung Hwa (Court Lady Choi), Che Seo Eun (Hong Yeon), Lee Jae Won (Du Il), Kim In Kwon (Royal Chef Man Bok), B.A.P’s Yoo Young Jae (Kim Hwan).... they were all ah-may-zing! Just WOW! Killed it! The only reason why I couldn’t give a full mark on the acting part was because there were some actors (like the man with the scar on his face and Dam Hyang’s dad) that seemed a little awkward when acting, but overall, it’s excellent!

What I really love about this drama is the balance between the genres. You could get this super nervewracking scenes, but it could make you laugh out loud in split seconds with the sudden comedy. You could see this beautiful friendship between the FL and the side characters and the beautiful romance between the leads. It was all written flawlessly. I really love how they took 35 minutes of the last episode to give every protagonists (even the side characters) a happy ending. I don’t really get why people are not happy with the ending of this drama which shows Bong Hwan going back to his body and So Yong going back to the Queen’s body once again... We may never see Queen So Yong beat Man Bok with her cooking skills, or seeing her use weird words that the King always fail to understand, or seeing her act inappropriately that made Court Lady Choi stressed out most of the time, but the happy ending here satisfies me so much, as it still makes everyone happy. Everyone gets justice and each of their own happy endings. It ends with all smiles, and that’s what really matters for me.

Thank you, Mr Queen for showing me beautiful friendships and romance and also for showing me that a happy ending doesn’t really mean the death of all the antagonists—but forgiving is. Despite all the controversies that has happened to Mr. Queen, I’m thankful that I had the chance to watch this from start til finish. Beautiful drama.

Overall, a 9.5/10! Off to Mr Queen: Bamboo Forest! Let’s go! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I expected more from this, but I clearly wasn't disappointed :)

I downloaded this waaaay back last year, and I was saving this movie for my romance marathon if I'm free, or in other words saving this movie since it's the last romance film I have left with Darren Wang as the main lead! I still can't move on from Our Times, and I wanted my obsession over Darren Wang to last. But today I was totally in the mood to watch this film, so here I am writing this review after watching.

I've always loved cliche movies, especially those romance movies with so much angst but ends with fluffs. So I was definitely looking forward to watch this movie: the typical female chases cold male lead first, but he finally realizes that she was the one. So cliche, but so my type! Honestly, I was expecting more angst from this movie, but the story just goes up and down, with the comedy, the angst, the romance, it was a little messy if I must say. The characters were a little confusing as well, and they were portrayed "indecisive". A little annoying, but it was okay.

For me, the acting was okay. Darren playing as the cold main lead would always be my favorite, but Jelly's acting here seems a little over for me. I totally get it that she needs to act as a cheerful, lively, innocent, a little stupid female lead, but the crying scenes were just over the top.

Overall, it's a sweet romcom I definitely recommend, an 8/10 for me! ⭐⭐⭐

Dear friends, life is beautiful, after all.

I didn’t expect myself to be emotionally attached to this drama. I was addicted, with a drama about old mules. I spent hours watching the lives of grandparents in their 70s and 80s. But oddly enough, I loved it. I really really loved it. I enjoyed it, more than I did with a few of my recent dramas that I watch.

Unlike most of the watchers here, I didn’t come here because of a recommendation from Nam Joon, I came here of pure curiosity, after finding this title one day here on MDL. I put this on my PTW list for too long, because I’m still not in the mood of watching something I thought was going to be ‘boring’. But, I decided to watch this spontaneously, and dang, I was intrigued. It didn’t usually happen to me, but this drama made me want to watch more.

Let me start by saying that the story, the acting, the music, the cinematography, and everything here was 101% perfect. It was beyond perfect. The acting was so real, the feelings they portray to the viewers were so clear, it made you feel like you were in that scene/position yourself. Go Hyun Jung and all the actresses and all the actors did a super duper excellent job here! Don’t get fooled by the casts, you may think that watching this is pointless, since you still haven’t reach the golden age, but this drama is for anyone, for everyone, for those of you who needs some healing and some self reflection. Have we treated our parents well? Are we selfish children? Am I living life correctly? You’ll instantly fall in love with all the characters here. They each have their own personal traits and characters, one time you’ll hate them for what they did, but other times you’ll relate with them and you’ll totally adore their characters.

The life lessons in this drama was so deep. It was quite hard for me to watch the last episodes, since a cry baby like me, couldn’t stop crying watching dramas like these. Being old doesn’t always mean you’ve matured fully, it’s never too late to love, to learn, to enjoy life, and to mend broken relationships with anyone. This drama inspired me to live happily, and to live life to the fullest. Live life while you still can, and make sure the life you live right now is happy. Love and cherish your family and friends, because they’re your forever treasures.

I personally loved loved loved this drama. Everything was spot on, and I really enjoyed every episode, especially the last! Overall, I’ll totally give this drama more than a full mark if I can, 15/10. It was per-fect *chef’s kiss* ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great season, I’m totally satisfied!

I’ve been a fan of Busted since the first season came out, and it never disappointed me. People said that this show became more and more scripted, but I don’t think that’s the case. This show is getting more and more epic in my opinion. There were more unpredictable episodes, there were more awesome guests and most importantly, more victories! I was quite disappointed at the second season since almost all of the episodes ended rather unclear, and the detective team always ends up losing, but this season brought back my spirit!

I really really hope there would be another season. Please make my wish come true, Mr. Director! I need to see more of the team. Overall, a great and entertaining watch, *SPOILER* Tae Hang Ho is my all time favorite character, thank you for bringing him back!

When space-tech movies like GotG, Star Wars and Elysium meets heartwarming movie like Pawn...

Space Sweepers is new. Have you ever seen any Korean movies with a whole new level of CGI and uses 75% Americans as the casts? Nope. Or at least I never did. To be honest, the storyline isn’t new. You get to see a lot of blasting fires and bombs in space, an evil scientist, and the typical unbeatable team. If you’re a fan of Star Wars or Guardians of the Galaxy, this storyline may be super predictable (my feeling throughout the film lol), however I deeply appreciate how the directors and producers have the courage to try out new genre for Korean films. That’s practically why I gave the story rating high.

I’ve always enjoyed Jin Seon Kyu’s acting. Seeing him play as a macho man with a soft heart will always be memorable for me. On the other hand, this was my first time watching Song Joong Ki and Kim Tae Ri’s works. I’ve known them since loooong ago, but this was my first time watching them. Didn’t disappoint. Top notch acting. Kim Tae Ri’s character left a great impression, super badass. Loooved Yoo Hae Jin, his voice is super obvious hahaha, adding a robot character is an awesome decision. And the little kid, she did well in the acting. Thumbs up thumbs up!

What made me love this movie even more is because I get to feel the element of surprise (which I don’t usually get when watching new movies because of the spoilers everywhere). I was clueless about the storyline, clueless about the cameos, almost clueless about everything except for the main casts. So, if you’re going to watch this movie, make sure you don’t get any spoilers or else this movie would be less exciting for you. Don’t even open the film page on MDL, even the cast list before watching!!!!

Overall, a great movie! Totally recommend if you’re searching for something new, and something entertaining. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“First love doesn’t necessarily have to be the first person.”

This movie is cute. It has breathtakingly beautiful scenes that were shot super perfectly. The casts were all so perfect, the main leads were full of chemistry, and they have the most beautiful visuals ever. Gong Yoo, Im Soo Jung, did a super awesome job in this movie.

However, it was a little confusing to understand what the directors and screenwriters have in mind. They make Gong Yoo play two characters, but at the same time, the main conflict, “Kim Jong Wook” isn’t his character after all. That was hard to understand at first, but thank God for MDL comments I get to finally understand what it meant.

The music. GOSH! It was beautiful!!! It has that Broadway musical vibes and OH HOW I LOVE seeing the scene of Im Soo Jung playing as the main actress in the musical! The music fits perfectly to every scene. Dreamy and romantic! I love it! Very very much!

The ending was super duper adorable! It was fluffy and cute, full of sweet moments of the main couple. And in the end, it was shown that fate or destiny will always find its way.

I had a great time watching this movie, and on top of that I enjoye watching Gong Yoo in a romcom movie! Overall, a 9/10!

Cute, but boring.

I was searching for a romcom to watch and I stumbled upon this movie. I was always hesitant to watch older movies but I gave this a try anyways. It’s not bad, but it’s not that good either. The storyline is pretty much predictable, but cliche in this movie is a bit draggy. Kwon Sang Woo was the main reason why this movie is bearable. Gong Yoo was funny too but it’s a shame he only appeared in a few scenes.

Despite the sort-of-annoying-old hairstyle of the FL and the exaggerated action scenes, I’ll probably recommend this if you want to relax, also smile from some sweet, romantic scenes. Or if you need an eye cleansing after a long day of school or work, because Kwon Sang Woo will solve it all! Pretty good, 6/10!

Three words: I LOVE IT!!!

Why did I never put this in my PTW list? Why was I never interested in watching this movie even though I’ve seen the poster at least 5 times? I decided to watch this movie in a whim since I’m in my romance movie marathon.

For your information, I think this is my first time watching Go Soo. And I’m... in LOVE! What a pleasant surprise to watch Go Soo in a romance movie, I really really enjoyed watching him in this movie. Every casts, literally everyone was very very super duper good in this movie. I would like to see more of Ma Dong Seok in a romcom, please! I love love love the casts and every characters here. Bear with Han Hyo Joo’s irritating character in the first 30-40 minutes please, I’m sure her character development will satisfy you!

The romance... YES YES YES!!! I was actually disappointed midway since I thought that the main leads fall in love too fast after all the love-hate relationship. But.... the angst came up shortly afterwards and I was super duper satisfied with the storyline. It made me feel like I’m in a rollercoa aster ride. I was amazed that the comedy was great and actually funny, and how the story managed to make me teary-eyed at times too. Rarely happened to me when watching romcoms.

So, overall a 10/10! Angsty but fluffy with good-looking at excellent casts!! Mighty Ma Dong Seok become all cutie here in this movie. Prepare to laugh and prepare your hearts: fluffy content ahead! ♥️

This movie had the best rom-com I’ve ever seen in a Korean movie so far. There’s plenty amount of fluffy, sweet and romantic romance in this movie, but there are also hilarious moments that were amazingly stupid, but funny! I liked how this movie turned out. When I first saw the poster, I thought it was about a couple catching the bad guys, however this movie is actually about a cop falling in love with the criminal! Never have I thought this movie would give the rom-com vibes I’ve searched for in Korean romcom movie! Rom-com in an action movie? This movie made it possible. Those genres were poured out perfectly in this movie. Everyone did a great job acting out their characters, and the music were great too!

If you’re searching for an anti-mainstream sweet rom-com, this is definitely for you! Silly, sweet, romantic, super duper hilarious. Totally recommended! Overall, a 9.5/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“It’s hard for people to change. If changing was easy, we wouldn’t be humans.”

The Plan Man is way more than just the typical romcom. I wouldn’t consider this a romance if you may ask. If you expected a lovey-dovey, cute couple moments, this is not the movie for you. But if you are searching for deep, but still comedy, a story that explains to you the real meaning of love, I recommend you this one!

This movie tells a story of a man with OCD who wrote about meeting his crush for a hundred days in his diary. Han Jeong Seok (Jung Jae Young) plans everything with the alarm, and he never misses a single minute in doing his daily routine. When he manages to pick up his courage and confess to his crush who works in the minimarket, he was incredibly surprised to find that he was confessing his feelings to another female part timer, Yoo So Jeong (Han Ji Min), as he then left his diary by accident in the minimarket. As a woman who had a dream to be a singer, So Jeong wrote a song based on Jeong Seok’s diary and sang it live on the bar she always performed. When So Jeong realizes Jeong Seok’s feeling to her fellow workmate, she asks him to join her as a duo performing at an audition to impress his crush.

A simple story. But not cliche. Some may say the story is a little too overdramatic, but for me the story was just right. The story gives off a lot of meaning to love and life, especially for us to CHANGE. If you don’t change, when will you get better? We must take action to fight our trauma.

This may not be the most romantic romance movie there was, but this movie is worth the watch! Really sweet and meaningful, overall an 8.5/10 ⭐️

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of cliche romance movies. But this one... seemed to be a little too much for me. I spent 1 hour and a half, smiling like an idiot while my fingers curled up from cringing. I liked it though, but as I said, it was too cheesy. I’m not really sure if it’s because of the difference in the language the main leads speak, or just because of the whole story in general. Daniel Henney was unexplainably hot, but his acting here on this movie may seem a little stiff in my opinion.

The story is SUPER CLICHE. You know what’s going to happen next. The typical CEO falls in love with his assistant kind of story. Even though it’s really predictable, really cheesy, the languages bother me sometimes, the acting wasn’t that great either, I’m super in love with the music. That’s one of the reasons that made me stay throughout the whole movie.

Overall, an 7.5/10. Super cute but on the other hand, cheesy and predictable. If you can handle the overflowing amount of fluff and a hint of angst, this is for you!

EXTREMELY FUNNY MOVIE WITH GOOD ACTION!

W.O.W! Where do I even begin? Never have I imagined this movie to be this good. Most of action-comedies failed to impress me, but this movie proves me wrong. The plot was so clear right from the very start. It wasn’t draggy nor was it boring. It was super duper extremely funny, and I knew that this was my kind of comedy movie.

All the casts did a really really great job portraying each of their characters. Every one of them was super entertaining and super hilarious, they all also did a good job with the action scenes! Lee Ji Won and Jung Joon Ho reunited again after Sky Castle, and I’m very well impressed by Lee Ji Won’s natural comedic acting! *standing ovation*

Overall, a 9.5/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you need some lighthearted, super funny movie with a great plot and great casts... THIS IS DEFINITELY FOR YOU!
