my biggest issue with Luo Mei atm is her "love" for the CP in the first place. how do they honestly expect me…
oh, just to add, I re-watched that scene and caught something I hadn't before: Liu Zhong says "kill me and save his majesty" π€ still not really sure why they'd have to kill him, but at least that's something

I also leaned into that idea, but I definitely think she could have stopped him. she is a military general, I am sure she would have been able to hold her own against CP if it came down to a fight..
and the other idea I had: maybe she killed him to make CP think she was still on his side. but, this one is pretty nonsensical because 1. CP admitted his guilt immediately after saying that the Eunuch was "slandering" him, and 2. if she's meant to protect the people, why would she willingly kill someone who's done nothing wrong?
the only thing that fixes this for me is if it's revealed that she magically hit some non-vital organ and didn't actually kill him lmao, even though that's still some lazy writing

right, it would be against her character. which is also why I can't make sense of why she would kill that Eunuch after hearing the truth instead of forcing CP to stop harming him. there are just so many holes π
Based on the promotional teaser, Luomei will stand against CP, with her sword pointed at him, so even that I initially…
my biggest issue with Luo Mei atm is her "love" for the CP in the first place. how do they honestly expect me to believe that she was so easily swayed by his actions? after being in love with ML for her entire life???? like, sure, maybe she's accepted that ML will never love her. maybe she's accepted that CP can take care of her. but to go as far to say she's "fallen in love" with him already? that is not natural progression ππ that is "we need some angst let's make her fall in love with him for bigger payoff when she betrays him"
I just follow some cdrama news accounts on twitter. I also recently saw a post saying that some of the more "bromance" type of scenes were getting cut, so could be an issue with that, but not sure if that's true or not.
I WANT to love this drama because I absolutely adore Liu Xueyi and think he's gorgeous, and I also loved the FL…
I get that. I'm enjoying it, but not to a crazy extent. if I had to try to explain my problems with this drama: I feel like they revealed too much of the plot too early, and now they're trying to cover up their lack of plot & poor planning with forced romantic interactions. like.... the last few episodes have been hard for me to watch bc there was such a huge tonal shiftπ I don't buy into these interactions at all. they don't make me feel anything bc they feel so forced.
That leader was Fagin from Oliver Twist on evil juice. Grooming all those kids because his weak ass couldn't leave…
sixth brother storyline had me so confused. at the end, HZB is just like "hmm I don't want to be chief" and the chief goes "okay I won't force you" π like... was it always that easy? sixth brother really abandoned his wife & child because he wanted to be sect leader, even though it could have been given to him with likely no conflict?? I really thought there would be something greater to his character but nope. literally no purpose, they should have just kept him dead so we wouldn't be so confused π
Do you call this a sad ending after watching the last few minutes? I think itβs one of the worst endings any…
I don't view it the same way. there is such a distinct difference in how he first acts at her grave vs how he acts when he's older. when she first dies, he's obviously distraught & deeply hurt at her grave. but then we see his older self visiting, he's joking around & drinking with her.
he also specifically says "over the past decades, I've been coming to drink with you every year" which implies its a once a year thing to fulfill their promise. visiting the grave of a loved one every year does not mean that he "can't let go of her". he also told his master that he does not want to be chief bc he wants to punish evil & promote good in the martial world. so, we can assume that he's spent the years travelling, not sitting around wallowing in despair.
visiting her grave is like visiting home for him, a short break from the dangers in the martial world. a quiet moment shared between the two of them.
I'm usually not a fan of SML/SFL tropes, but I really like Miao Feng π₯Ί
I wish we had gotten more of them together π even though it's a obviously a doomed ship because you know... responsible for her illness and killing Xuehuai and all.
