finally finished and don't get me wrong, I enjoyed a lot if it but good grief I wanted to cropdust the entire fictional universe with ambien lmao. if only every charecter took like 5 mins to reflect and be like "am I doing too much?"
I'm currently reading the novel of this drama but after reading the description of the drama it sounds a bit different…
I agree, it seems a trend with drama adaptations to feel more like au fanfics of the original lol. I do enjoy this authors other historical romance and would recommend them if you haven't read them!
Is the novel good? Is it heavy politics or revenge or romance?
I judt finished it and would say its not bad (6 or 7 out of 10 for historical romance novels) I did have many moments when I got frustrated but that's personal preference. it is also relatively short for the genre being only 90ish chapters as appose to 150+. you can read the English translation on readthedrama
I'm on ep 20 and so far nearly every episode I have a point where I think "why can't everyone just chill the f out" lol like good grief lol. As a chronically lazy girl, I cannot fathom putting so much effort in to constantly plotting and scheming like this ðŸ˜
currently reading the book and have to say Chang Long is absolutely a perfect casting choice for the 7th prince lol! he really plays the arrogant, bumbling but we'll intentioned charecters so perfectly
I put off watching this for the incredibly petty reason of simply not liking the name but have to say its such a fun little drama. I always seem to avoid dramas that as more family centred and funny but when I actually sit down to them I find them so lovely. enjoyed the trope subvertion of transmigrating with the entire family instead of just the fm lead that we are all familiar with (especially if you are an avid webnovel devoter like myself). I would say this makes an excellent pallet cleanser (no pun intended) between more melodramatic or "serious" dramas.
the way the people in the envoy are speaking…Chinese…are they speaking Chinese…if it they are, it feels…
I think they were dubbed by chinese voice actors, I found it better than when the actors actually try to speak chinese tbh but yeah it was a lil bit over the top lol
While I hold my hope that this drama will air this year, I want to read the novel and I know where I can find…
I resorted to copy/pasting it into a Google doc and downloading it as an epud lol. warning that you'll need to split it into multiple docs if you do that tho!
so excited for this drama, just finished rereading the novel to tide me over. I love that it is basically mulan but with load more fun stuff. let's all remember that it is a tough wait, but something we can all look forward too! how exciting will it be when we all finally get to watch!
just finished reading the novel and ha e to say it's the authors best yet. I'm glad on the one hand that as its not a "rebirth" plot, that aspect of the story won't be such a struggle for the drama adaptation however they will have to do a lot of rejigging of the royal plot as there is not a chance in hell that would pass censorship 😂. I have read all of the authors previous work and its always so fun and addictive, just a shame that the stories always need such heavy editing to be put on screen
Seems average revenge drama but people hype about this. So what's makes it different?
for sure can see what you mean, I think the reason that some of us are hyped (other than obviously the actors ect) is because its the first drama adaptation of one of Qian Shan cha Ke's novels and the author is very well known for their rebirth/revenge stories. I know that's why I'm super excited in any case 😅
The synopsis is wrong, in the novel both character died at the same time xue li is murder by her husband and the…
I think they have to change things a bit so that it can pass censorship as they can't have a charecter die and be reborn since the whole scarlet heart thing. its a shame as the novel was so fun but hopefully they can still capture the rest of it properly! 🤞
I just feel like the concept is so good that I can't help but be disappointed by the execution. like if this was a more standard plot idea I think I would have given it .ore grace but it is an incredible idea that on the right hands would have been sensational. instead it feels like a strangers things/Mr sunshine fanfic. The female leads acting feel stronger than the male's and the supporting cast are all doing great. I think it's worth a watch but still disappointing when you considered the potential.
