I love it - but I really hope he chooses a good project. It is always not easy to match the hype of a popular and well done drama, like the ongoing "Bon Appetit"

On a side note - am so happy that he's getting these offers. I have liked him since I saw him in "See you in my 19th Life" His role was minor there, but he had a strong impression - mainly cause of his handsome looks, but also cause even in that limited time, he definitely had a great acting potential.

Which is why I started the drama "Hierarchy" for him - but it was a disaster. He was good, but the script/story etc was so bad - that the entire drama should be purged from everyone's memories.

Which is why I was skeptical to start Bon Appetit - but glad I did, and so did many others, cause he is really shined in this drama, and as we can see from the article, the effects are there.

So happy when people get their due - I am sure there's a lot of hardwork and hope that had gone for him as well, to get that "one-moment-that-changed-it-all". For Lee Chae Min, it was "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" and I wish to see him in more great and fun projects! He is definitely one of the good actors to watchout for - talent + looks 🍀⭐🥰

I was just about to say the same - and saw your comment. The cover is what brought me here, and so is the cast - I have liked their previous work. But the plot synopsis doesn't really excite me, so let's see how it is received before deciding if want to watch it or not.

So glad I started this drama - it is really very good. And all the things I was skeptical about the FL (because of K2), the ML (because of Hierarchy) and thought it might be a copy/similar to Mr Queen. But this drama is so different, refreshing and fun!

I love the main leads, and ofc the kitchen gang - and Oh Eui Shik as Song Jae in his comedic avatar and banter with the King. But am waiting to see when this drama takes a serious note, and I guess we will get a lot of action in Ep 7.

Man - after a VERYYY LONG time, finally we have a drama for which am eagerly waiting for the new episode to come fast. Really hope the drama doesn't falter towards the end, and ends on a high note!

It was disappointing a little bit for sure - especially when you went in with such a good premise and cast. It had its moments but the cons were more than the pros. Sad!

I am so happy to see that the story is unique with some similarities ofc, Yoona's really amazing (thank God - I will purge her K2 acting from my mind now), and the ML - is amazing, am so glad that he has got such a good project, the last one I saw - the drama itself was such a disaster (Hierarchy) that I could not even admire his handsome looks or acting. I am on Ep 10 - and just a random observation, the FL's hair looked better before she got the bangs. Like why would she want to change an already cute hairstyle, to a non-cute one 😅

Wow - the visuals 💖 Lee Jun Young, one of my bias, in yet again a different role, will make us wonder if it is a grey character or not 😉

Hating the wait - that is an important factor as well. I will also wait for it to air some more and then give it a try. From the comments and given the premise - it looks like a drama that is right in my alley - I will keep aside the blockers that I had in mind for the actors' past works.

Yes, looks like it - but sometimes articles can be misleading and so I wanted to ask here on MDL. I think I have a good idea now - and will give this one a try for sure!

Given the comments on my OP - I think I will give this a try. But after a while - once it airs some more episodes. And yes, I love Yoona from SNSD - but her role in K2 was very bad that put me off any other projects. But looks like I can give this a try and my original love of idol Yoona can be maintained as actress Yoona. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Tbh - this drama is a little skeptical for me. The plot sounds fun but there are a lot of concerning areas:
1. Yoona - I had seen her in K2, and after that I decided not to watch her in any drama
2. Lee Chae Min - saw him in Hierarchy, he was okay but drama was complete trash that the overall experience didn't encourage me to watch any further of his dramas
3. While it is the main plot here - the whole chef being in past time and cooking, reminds of Mr Queen. Now Mr Queen is a class apart drama, and I think when I will watch this drama, I won't be able to help but compare (and not in a good way cause Mr Queen was, is and will be extremely good even when cooking was a minor plot)

Too early to say anything about the drama - but with the above, is this worth watching the drama, or should I wait a while, let it reach the half-mark or more, and then decide?

I know "Yang Se Jong" and "Jang Dong Yoon" are often said to look alike. But is the picture on this page correct? I am confused...

Many of the social media posts/blogs mention that what they call as "elope" is a euphemism that the main couple committed suicide, immediately after their wedding - this is the drama version, not the novel one.

I am really curious as to why it means so?

Like I know euphemism is not directly saying it - For Example: Pass Away is a euphemism for "Death".

So is it something in Chinese language and elope is a translation of a certain word, or they really use elope = unaliving yourself? In either case, or something else - what is the origin, why this word only?

Would really appreciate if someone can explain - Thanks.

This drama has put such a strong impression on me. Unfortunately I was not strong enough to watch it entirely - Li Zan's character is too convincing that it makes me want to bawl everytime. Like it physically hurts to see him in pain. CZY's eye acting is super good.

I have therefore "read" the last episodes through various online forums and Reddit. AND fast watched it as much as I could handle.

It has been many months since I saw it but I keep coming back to it. At least the earlier episodes when things were on a happy note.

I have a doubt about a word/euphemism used for/at the ending, where I need some help.
