Yessss, I remember there were so many articles citing them as each others' doppelgangers! Plus, that was so sweet of him to say that he'd like to work together.
The first time I saw SakaKen was in 2015 - the movies, My Love Story and Heroine Disqualified. He was in a support role/SML in these two - but I was already smitten with him. Had to search a lot then to find his modelling works and variety show appearances. So glad of the run he has had and people acknowledging his talent - no wonder he is one of the most sought after actors in Japan!
Why doesn't he push his hair back from his forehead??? π He is much better with headscarf in the restaurant…
probably because he wants to protect us and not unleash his handsomeness at fullest potential π but he usually carries the same hairstyle, floppy covering the forehead in most of his dramas/movies.
I am a die-hard fan of Kentaro, and I can distinguish between him and Bae In Hyuk - but I think this comment/observation maybe coming from the fact that both of them are what you term as shio-gao (literally: salt-face men)
SakaKen has been called that numerous times - the term is described as "a fair-skinned male with good-looking face, defined Adam's apple and collarbones, as well eyes that turn into lines when smiling"
Bae In Hyuk also falls into this category and given he was one of the most recent male leads who have acted opposite the FL - maybe this comparison is therefore being made.
Thanks a lot for sharing your view! Since am a big fan of the FL I am going to watch it for sure, just the pacing makes me decide should I watch it as it airs or wait for it to complete.
how much screen time the second lead couple are getting? I want to watch for them only
Somewhere in the middle of the series, they have got a good amount of screentime. It is obviously not as much as the main couple - but the drama makers have balanced it well imo.
Like we know the show is for the main leads- but they have intertwined the second pair's love story beautifully - to the point that you are not left for wanting more, but then it sets up a beautiful stage for the spin off.
My friendly recommendation would be to watch the show. It is short and crisp - and like I mentioned has tightly woven the story and brought out all the themes well. Bonus - you watch this show for both the couples - and since your focus is the second one, their scenes will make you go π₯°ππ»and then you can watch the spin off at leisure when it comes out on Oct 3!
I hope this long answer of mine conveys my excitement for the second couple and their story - excited to know how it goes for you!
I hate the father of the male leads but he also makes me lol π€£
Ikr - he is a paradox character. Like there are times when you think he is the antagonist and then he switches and does some funny antics (that scene to save his plants) and am like so confused whether to fully hate him with passion or ROFL! π
He is such a great actor - so happy that he is pulling it off so well!
This is another drama that will be in highlights of 2024!
Binged and Finished Ep 10 and I am loving this drama - it has the right amount of mystery, comedy, romance, and bro/sis bonding. I really hope they finish on a strong note, given we are down to the last 2 episodes next week.
I think this would be the first drama of Shin Min-ah that I will complete, and what a great run Kim Young Dae has had since I first saw him in Penthouse and Extraordinary You.
And super super excited for the spin off and see the second leads' story unfold in Spice Up Out Love #TeamBokGyu
Honestly - this drama was deceptive. The poster, trailer and premise made me feel as if it would have a suspense with a twist in the end, and the first 2-3 episodes did seem to set it up that way. But alas from that point onwards there was just no progress - in characters or story. Highly disappointing drama and my recommendation is to SKIP IT.
Have you seen him in Vigilante yet? I absolutely loved him in that(and its been renewed for a 2nd seasonπ)
OMG! I have been holding myself from binging Vigilante even though it has the oh-so-amazing Yoo Ji Tae, Nam Joo Hyuk and of course Lee Joon Hyuk β€οΈ Was holding it off - cause I knew one season is not enough and there is bound to be a second given the good reviews it has received. Plus the story is something that am always eager to watch.
I think you missed in your comment whether you absolutely LOVE or HATED him - I still don't know what his role is, but am assuming that you LOVED him in it π I was going to wait for Season 2 - but I think given how much am focusing on LJH, might as well start it soon!
Ep 9-10 has left me confused ..... Firstly am not sure if the version we have been shown is the truth or the parents still have some hidden mystery. If someone's read Verity by Colleen Hoover - they'd understand.
Secondly - I feel the plot and constant flashbacks so late in the show has made it lose its initial charm. Like am still watching the show to get to the bottom of the mystery - but it is not exciting anymore. I should be crying that there are only 2 episodes left, but am rather glad that there are only 2 episodes left and I can be done with this show.
Third - one thing is for sure, Sun Hui the kid is a wayyyyyyy better actor that the adult version. Why does she only have one pained expression?
Overall, they could done so much more...but I think the makers got lost as well trying to create a masterpiece and finishing as above average.
I have been meaning add 365 days in my list. would you highly recommend it? thanks in advance!
Absolutely, you must! Like @kalenahenden shared if you like mystery thrillers it is definitely a great watch. I have personally rated it 9.5 - so while not a life changing masterpiece but very close π
While the Korean society maybe harsh, but there are stories of celebs in cases of drug abuse, recovery or even suspect - making a comeback in the home country (Ju Ji Hoon, GD, TOP etc). And while you have shared that Hollywood has been liberal, the comeback road has not been easy as there were challenges and public skeptism (RD Jr, Britney, Lindsay Lohan). Citing just one of them here: https://drugabuse.com/blog/robert-downey-jr-s-incredible-comeback-from-addiction/
No law and order in any place in the world will have unanimous acceptance for it. There will always be two sides and people will be divided. Also it is a comparison - if Korea's laws seem ancient to you, perhaps they will seem advanced in comparison to another nation. Similarly what may seem like liberal laws in US, would be ancient in comparison to another nation. To call one right and another wrong, is not correct - cause there are a lot of underlying factors, that determine why a law is there, and then again people will always be divided on whether it helps them or not.
Yoo Ah In is one of my fav actors, and I believe in his talent. While this case might be a setback for his career momentarily, and as a fan I will not get to see him - it is indeed saddening and frustrating. At this point, thus, I can hope that he keeps strong and well during his sentence - and I will wait for him to return and resume his work, in Korea and/or globally.
