This drama kind of caught me off guard: I started watching it with a prejudice against idols acting. I usually think they don't bring enough depth to the characters, that they try too hard and makes it difficult to take them seriously - idols are not actors after all. However Park Jin Young and Shin Ye Eun quickly turned out to be fascinating through the raw emotions they conveyed: they don't try too hard nor not enough, they are spontaneous and hit the emotions just right.
I have to say, they are backed by two actors who did more than good; Kim Kwon and Kim Da Som perfectly embraced their roles and they grasped the personalities of their characters in a way it makes it easy to jump right into the plot.
So after praising the actors, I should praise the plot right?
Well that's where the drama loses points. Although it was a nicely built story, I was still bothered by some incoherences and the inevitable moments of boredom. The plot revealed too much, too quickly: the multiple flashbacks sure were interesting and nice, but I do believe they weren't exploited to the maximum of their potential. Which leads me to the main point of my critique: suspense fell flat almost all through the drama for me. If you paid enough attention to what was going on, you knew what would happen next, and in my opinion, the writers didn't succeed in building up anticipation and dread, which are vital for that kind of thriller drama.
To sum up, the drama is worth watching, for the original plot as well the skilled actors, but could have been much better plot-wise.

I was so hyped for this drama when it started, the first episodes were nice and i liked where the plot was going, but then it got boring, and most of all, don't try to produce a drama that requires a lot of visual effets if you're going to botch it the way they did for this drama. It just got cringy - due to low level visual effects, the plot stalled, the actors weren't so great - it pains me to say this but even lee seunggi couldn't save the day - and overall i couldn't even make an effort to watch the last episode.
Disappointing. Giving it 6.5 stars is generous i believe, don't bother with this drama if you're looking for something that gives off "the goblin" feels.

At first I was scared I wouldn't be able to finish this drama, you know how sitcoms sometimes get, boring and uninteresting... but Waikiki is definitely not the kind of drama you'd want to drop! The plot is ridiculous, predictable, and the characters are overplayed but that's the reason why you get attached to the drama and the characters as well. There isn't much growth, they're immature and will forever be, they never learn the lesson but hey the drama's light and funny and you shouldn't expect anything else from it.
Definitely a drama to watch when you're looking for something that can lift your mood, after a tiring and long day with a good drink or something sweet to eat.

I binge watched this and i don't regret doing it - i don't think i'd have been able to finish it if i had watched it while it aired.
The plot fits perfectly the definition of my own guilty pleasure; if you've got a thing for spy / romance dramas, then this one is for you!
Although the plot lacked a lot: it didn't bring anything new, the action scenes weren't so spectacular and the characters didn't show much depth.
The thing that saved it all for me was the cast: i fell all over again for park hae jin, kim min jung's acting was fresh and full of cuteness, park sung woong did a really good job at making me get attached to his character and the supporting roles weren't so bad either.
I won't say i'll watch it again but if you've got nothing to do and netflix on, you could probably have a good time watching this drama!

A drama that doesn't leave any aftertaste, no good one no bad one either. I was worried Suho's acting would be an obstacle to me getting into the story, but in the end, the female lead's acting was the worst. I wouldn't be able to explain why but she had a knack for getting on my nerves ; the male lead's acting lacked of feelings, passion, it was too bland, flat.
The plot could have been interesting but is very cheesy, and doesn't make sense at times. Small mistakes that get you out of it and doesn't let you jump back in.
I wouldn't watch it again, and wouldn't recommend it either!
