The plot keeps moving, and I'm still stuck on "WHO IS THIS CUTE GIRL?" She keeps popping up whenever Ye Li is alone, talking to her, sleeping next to her... Is she even real, or is she just Ye Li's trauma?
Watching those villains is oddly enjoyable — too clever, too calculated... The dialogue is strong, even if the pacing is fast. I’m not ready for their downfall yet ..lol
Just want to share my thoughtsCurrent Ren Jia Lun Character Ranking (subject to change 😆):🥇 Lu Qian Qiao…
Not you giving Ren Jialun’s characters official medal rankings, sis ..lol.. poor characters out here fighting for gold medals AND emotional trauma at the same time lol
Am I the only one struggling to keep up with all these cultivators’ names and messy personalities .. I try to remember them, but they just keep adding more to the pile… lol... And somehow they keep getting even more twisted and crazy than the ones before .. lol
Might be to late for choosing then - he looses some powers with every change.
You’ve got a valid concern—but I don’t think it’s too late yet .. He’s losing power every time, yeah… but that might actually be the point. I feel like this isn’t a level-up story—it’s a choices test… or at least I HOPE so .. lol
Might be to late for choosing then - he looses some powers with every change.
In a typical xianxia, the protagonist keeps leveling up. But here, it’s the opposite—he’s being stripped down piece by piece. That suggests the endgame isn’t about power… it’s about choice.
So your theory, my friend, actually makes a lot of sense: the real test may be whether he still chooses humanity after witnessing all its ugliness. And if he does, then perhaps he earns the right to wield power differently—like the war demon power, but this time with control, intention, and purpose.
Although I haven’t watched all of Ren Jialun’s dramas, I can say Lu Huai is easily my favorite character he has played.
Because a good character isn’t just about screen time or a dashing, attractive face—it’s about whether they spark discussion and whether they stay in your mind long after the scene ends.
And Lu Huai does exactly that.
Unlike typical protagonists who grow from weak to strong, Lu Huai starts as someone already complete—powerful, kind, righteous, almost untouchable. But his journey is the opposite. He slowly becomes more human, more vulnerable, as if life itself is stripping him down piece by piece.
He sees everything—greed, cruelty, betrayal—even among cultivators who sacrifice morality for immortality. And still… he chooses humanity.
Even when the world shows him its worst, he keeps choosing to be human.
That’s what makes him unforgettable.
Not perfection… but the decision to remain human despite everything—and I LOVE THAT. It gives me a sense of value as a human. And Ren Jialun—you’re amazing. This hit way harder than I thought it would...
My take on this: his real destination will likely be when he completes the five human transformations, since the drama is centered on his journey of salvation. The climax may come down to whether he chooses to remain human or retain his war demon power to save humanity (just my guess)… Yeah, that feels like the final turning point we’re heading toward...
The story is getting way deeper—it’s not romance, not personal choices, not even a life preference.
It’s this whole hardworking humans vs lazy immortal privilege thingy. And honestly??!! That’s kinda sus. Immortals are supposed to represent justice and logic, right? But here they’re cold, detached, and ready to wipe out entire populations for their own agenda...lol.. Meanwhile, the war demon—supposed ‘savage enemy’—ends up being the most real and fair one.
So maybe good and evil are fixed labels… but people aren’t.
Reflected in our own lives, you’d be shocked how many figures can cause harm just because they have the upper hand—and we let them, because we believe they hold a moral standard.
SO...For those who want to understand his journey, I tracked the entire process of his transformation—and this is what I found.
Lu Qianqiao originally reached the Deity Transformation level as a member of the War Ghost Clan. After the skin transfusion, he dropped to the Great Completion level, and following the flesh transfusion during the Lingchi punishment, he fell further to the Out-of-Body level. After the bone transfusion, he regressed to the Nascent Soul level, which is confirmed in episodes 24–26, where both Xia Xuanzi and the later leader of the Qinghong Sect explicitly state that he is currently at this level. According to episode 24, they also explain that if he undergoes another blood transfusion, he will drop to the Foundation Establishment level, and if he undergoes a heart transfusion, he will become a mortal, losing his cultivation entirely

I’m not ready for their downfall yet ..lol
Him: I’m just moon gazing...
Us: yeah.. we heard you loud and clear.. the moon is innocent, YOU are not...lol
Zhou Yiran: 9/10 — The eyes, the aura… this man is distracting in the worst/best way ..lol.. I kept replaying scenes just to stare.
Visuals: 9/10 — Costumes, palace scenes, colors are just gorgeous… basically rich people suffering but make it aesthetic.
Story: 8/10 — Revenge, politics, and craziness all packed together. It stays interesting and keeps things moving, so you never really get bored.
Pacing: 5–6/10 — A bit too fast at times. Feels like they’re speed-running a whole novel, which can get a little overwhelming.
Dubbing: 4–5/10 — Not terrible, but I really wish they used their own voices.
Overall:
A little messy!!yeah,,,, but still really enjoyable 💕I’m definitely still in...
I try to remember them, but they just keep adding more to the pile… lol... And somehow they keep getting even more twisted and crazy than the ones before .. lol
