But THAT’S what’s driving me crazy — this drama has all the right ingredients, but somehow keeps tripping over itself. The atmosphere? Stunning. The characters? Pulling me in. The romance? Absolutely working. The potential? SCREAMING at us.
THEN the editing team shows up like the uninvited cousin who ruins the party,,,, The pacing sometimes runs, falls, gets back up, and starts running again,,,, Some scenes feel like they expect us to already know the missing details, so I’m sitting here like… (Wait, did I skip an episode, or do I need to go read the whole backstory myself??)
The AI opening? Honestly, I can live with it. It’s weird, but whatever. The beauty filters though??? PLEASE. 😂 You have Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan — two people who already look like they walked out of a painting. WHO asked for a filter that makes them look like they’re being rendered by a 2015 beauty app? GOD!!.
This drama is honestly lucky because Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan are carrying SO much. Their chemistry, their visuals, and their screen presence… they are the reason I’m still here.
But at the same time, this drama is also unbelievably unlucky because the team behind the camera is fighting against it. From the strange directing choices, random zooms, questionable camera work, to the silly editing…
The funniest thing? The good drama is RIGHT THERE. I can see it. We can ALL see it.
The ingredients are perfect… but somebody in the kitchen keeps adding too much salt.
Anyway… sorry for the long rant 😂 I’m still watching, and I’m not letting go yet,,,, I have this hidden feeling that things are going to come together and the drama will find its rhythm.... I’m telling myself: stop fighting every little thing, relax, and just enjoy the story with these two cute stars I love.
