I totally understand you. A lot of us were fascinated by the VR element too—that’s what made the beginning feel so whimsical and special. But this is still a modern drama, not sci-fi, so it naturally has to step into real life at some point.

What I appreciate is that it doesn’t completely abandon the VR side—it slowly weaves it into reality. The story finds a balance between office life, the VR world, and the characters’ personal, homey moments. The VR becomes more of an explanation for the ML’s background and emotional state rather than just a setting...

If you’re already enjoying the Shanghai atmosphere and the leads, I’d gently say give it a little more time. The transition is smooth, and the emotional layers—family, healing, and relationships—start to deepen in a very natural way. It ends up feeling grounded rather than generic, and that warmth grows as the story settles.

Hopefully, you’ll end up enjoying it as much as we did....

I totally agree. I don’t know the film you mentioned, but I get your point. And yes, the VR is like a simulation of his own history with his dad — a mirror, reliving the details again. You can see it in all the dialogues, the little details, and the emotions, all reflecting his own past just like you said..

I get what you mean, but I think this isn’t the exact same photo — it’s a similar black-and-white one referencing his VR character. ..Still, in real life, he has a hand watch with his and his dad’s picture too...so he and the VR character basically share the same background.

Agree 😭 miscommunication in most dramas is so cringy and annoying. But here? She’s innocent, sure, but not dumb — she knows exactly what she’s doing and is crystal clear. There’s no misunderstanding… he’s just lowkey hiding his feelings for her lol. BUT she’s witty — she’ll figure it out and serve him the reality check he deserves 😂
