If I were to compare it to other manhwa within this same genre, this is probably the most grounded manhwa out of them, alongside maybe Shark and Dokgo. Try reading Lookism if you ever wanna see how ungrounded* something can be, it's a really good manhwa even with most of it being way too unrealistic.

As far as the ending for Donald is concerned, it was unsatisfactory within the manhwa too, so I'm not that pissed about it anymore. I kinda expected it to be like that, although the change was weird.

I have only seen the film adaptation of Death Note, and I thought it was pretty decent (maybe because I was comparing it with the Netflix version since I saw them back to back). My last statement was basically for YYH since this adaptation cuts out a lot of stuff from the manga (I totally forgot how much they cut out the dark tournament arc, it was basically non-existent, so yeah you're totally right for this one, it was my mistake to include this one).

I mentioned all of them since you mentioned that Japanese live-actions suck. I mean, if you wanted like a truly peak adaptation, then I guess out of the ones I mentioned earlier, only Erased, City Hunter, and Gannibal can come up to that scale in my opinion. I think even Alice in Borderland does have a few problems if I were to compare it to the manga, but it's still among the best Japanese live-action adaptations that you can find.

Maybe you're right that the standard of Japanese live-action adaptations is so low that the ones that do the bare minimum tend to be called the peak. Also, it might be because I haven't seen that many Japanese live-action adaptations to begin with to be giving a general statement.

Basically, your statement in the beginning that I replied to was that Japanese adaptations tend to suck while South Korean adaptations are usually good. If we were going to talk about Japanese live-action adaptations that could be called peak, then yeah, those are way less than South Korean ones (at least for what I've seen so far). I never disagreed with that.

I was obviously not counting One Piece since that was mainly American. There's Erased (drama), City Hunter, Death Note, Tomodachi Game, Gannibal, Alice in Borderland, My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought, and YuYu Hakusho. That's just the ones I have seen and not including the ones for whose source material I'm unfamiliar with. You can say that a few of them are not exactly as good as the original but I would still say that they're pretty decent adaptations and they definitely don't suck.

It's kinda equivalent if you ask me. I have seen a lot of Japanese live-action adaptations that are really good alongside the bad ones. Similarly, I've also seen a lot of Korean live-action adaptations that suck very terribly alongside the good ones.

When WEBTOON licensed the manhwa for the English audience, they localized the names of the characters. For the people who read the manhwa in English, they are mostly familiar with the characters by those names, that's why those are also here.

I'm kinda happy they used Weak Hero Class 1's Opening for the background music in the trailer.

I never said I didn't like it because of that. The only reason I finished the manhwa was because I liked the drama adaptation a lot. I was just saying that the rooftop fight scene won't be the same as the original one because of the changes they did.

They're probably gonna change that scene a lot considering that Yeon Si Eun's trauma regarding the rooftop in the manhwa stems from what happens to An Su Ho and how he went into a coma.
