Actually, the author used the opportunity of the movie release (new audience) to tell people to read the manhwa.…
you don't understand sarcasm, do you? the not watching film part was a very elaborative joke from my side lol. if i had wanted to confuse someone, i wouldn't have provided the original link to begin with.
and just an fyi, orv is originally a webnovel, the manhwa is just an adaptation like this la film, not the source material.
so did they reveal who han sooyoung is at the end? or not since theyโre not planning to make a second season…
it only went up to the third scenario in the film and i don't exactly remember when she does make an appearance in the original, but from what i 've read in the reviews for this film so far, she hasn't been discussed even once or maybe i just missed it.
yeah, i read a few reviews on letterboxd and imdb too, seems like we were absolutely right to be the haters this…
yeah, they basically changed everything from the webnovel they were adapting it from, now it's just a thing of its own and seems like it didn't do a good job at that too and failed miserably. ngl might be a good popcorn watch but definitely nowhere near close to the original.
yeah, i read a few reviews on letterboxd and imdb too, seems like we were absolutely right to be the haters this time around. really hope they just stop it here and don't make any more of these films.
Why do you want it to flop ? The only thing I don't like is ji hye having a gun instead of a sword
Dokja basically says to the author that their novel is the worst and that he doesn't agree with Junghyeok's decisions and the ending that his decisions led to. Afterwards, the author gives him a chance to change the ending of the novel and hence the main plot of the film starts.
And if you've read even the prologue, you would know it's far from what happens and what Dokja's intentions toward both the author and Junghyeok are. To him, Junghyeok isn't only a fictional character, but also his only friend and even to some extent a father figure he never had. And for that he has major respect for the author of TWSA, and he has expressed that in his monologues multiple times.
And I'm only replying to your comment to state my reasons for why I think people such as me and a few others who're familiar with the source material are expressing their disappointment in this project, not because I'm giving affirmation of my desire for this film to flop. For what it has become, I couldn't care less if it flops or becomes a hit ngl. Though I can understand their sentiment too, considering if it does become a hit, it'll be the Omniscient Reader for numerous people while it still being a major disrespect to its source material.
oh man that's disappointing ๐i've never read orv but i know the fanbase is highly dedicated and the narrative…
maybe i just wanted to see my fav story being told in this medium that even after seeing all the changes, i actually had a tinker of hope for this project being somehow good but ig that's too much.
as for how they were gonna fit the whole story into 1 film, when the project was announced, i believe they said they were gonna do like 5 films, which even then 1 film would have to adapt 100+ chapters of the webnovel to finish the storyline in 5 films. so i don't know how accurate that might've been. and i guess even the future 4 films depend on the success of this film.
for series such as solo leveling or orv, they're pretty much very hard to adapt in live action format ngl and since orv is supposed to be the precedent for such series, being the first of its kind to be adapted into live action and probably the best story at that sub-genre too, the future for solo leveling doesn't look that good to me at least for now.
from what i understood, it mostly seems like the cgi is pretty bad, it doesn't set up the world that well for people who're not familiar with the source material (webnovel or manhwa), and for those that are familiar with the source material, they seem to have expressed their disappointment to the changes made to the elements of the storyline. there are more details in the reviews, so if you wanna know more just read those, i only highlighted the basic things
p.s. the poster isn't me, i just found their tweet
I dunno how to feel about this one. Such settings work okay with manwhas but live action that too korean, its…
had the same thoughts as you, and i don't think such a story has been adapted into live action format before, so it'll be a first one for the kdrama audience too.
Reverse harem to be exact but same thing. I was talking about the plot since I've read the first season of the manhwa, so I know how things are going to unfold. That's why I was talking about the plot being wild in that sense.
Beom Seok left the country at the end of season one so I don't think he'll be back in season 3 but it's possible…
I think they meant Geum Seong Je and not O Beom Seok but I might be wrong. As far as Season 3 is concerned, it will be a drama original if it ever gets made as the original story within the manhwa is finished.
At least in the drama were some teachers and some parents... in the webtoon i dont recall seeing oneMayne at the…
Even at the cram school Gray went to, I don't remember any significant intervention by the teachers. Also, the parents don't even exist in there to the point that it has become a running joke among the manhwa readers.

damn, even Sing Shong, the author of the webnovel said to read Omniscient Reader and not watch it in their message for the film lol.
