I'm hearing a lot of criticism of Jan Di and Joon Pyo in the comments... It's only to be expected when you compare…
I have labeled Lu Li-Cheng (Wallace Chung) of "Best Time" as 2nd only to Mr. Darcy as the perfect Manly man... Arrogant, Confidant, Intelligent, Capable, Handsome, Rich, Successful Career, Great Dancer, Charismatic, Charming, Good-hearted, etc... etc... etc... and although he is not an aristocrat , he does Not have any Psychological/Emotional problems in his personality !!!...(last 2 qualities differ from the shy aristocratic Mr. Darcy)

and Su Man (Janine Chang) is very comparable to Lizzy...b/c it is her Intelligence, Wit, Confidence, Courage, Charm, Beauty and Fun-Loving Adventurous Spirit that attract him to her... besides , she is the only person/woman courageous/smart enough to stand up to him ....
Lu Li-Cheng and Su-man's romance is very similar to Mr. Darcy and Lizyy's...:<3<3<3 them both!

P.S. I agree... Asian dramas are the perfect medium fto move Austen-fans !

Jane Austen is what lead to my K-drama addiction in the first place !!! .... .... craving something similar to…
After watching many K-dramas , I have become more critical , and thus , a bit exasperated w/ the poor girl cliche.... I don't understand what it is that makes her attractive to these amazing men !?!? ....(besides being cheerful or someone that is not awed by his awesomeness)...lol...

Nonetheless, your comparison is great and brings up many good points...

"Meteor Garden" is my favorite version of HYD , for several reasons ... including the fact that Shan-Cai is not an idiot, and has attractive qualities .... But mainly b/c Dao Ming-Si's Unfaltering Love is palpable and his Passion is expressed through his tight embraces and kisses ......
very much Unlike a Jane Austen novel tho , and very much like a T-drama...lol...... but the romance is still there :D
(I think the director went to great lengths to explain how all the emotions came about... so things make sense)<3

Well now, this is weird, because for me, it's the other way around. I started liking English dramas after getting…
"And that is how Kdramas make skinship feel; every light touch is like a jolt of electricity through the body!" ...... such a PERFECT description !!!
@dapinaymrs .... thank you for articulating it that way!
@pixelviking .... thank you for bringing up that example !

Title Wanida
I don't get why everyone seems to love this lakorn so much. I found it mostly boring and the ending is just *rolleyes*…
Very true about the Evil Queen... unbelievable... it would have been better to just keep it all the same...
But I thought the story is good ... and him slowly falling in love w/ her , then being torn b/w duty and love is also good.

Jane Austen is what lead to my K-drama addiction in the first place !!! .... .... craving something similar to P&P and Austen's feel-good romances ... I discovered "Chunhyang" and "A Moment to Remember" on Netflix .... from there , idealized romances led to K-drama addiction .....

I always thought "P&P" would be perfect as a K-drama , in all its aspects....but Not comparable to "Hana Yori Dango" for one major reason.....
--->>> Lizzy is very pretty, intelligent, independent, adventurous, fun-loving, and sassy yet full of charm and grace .... .... of all the versions of "HYD" , Geum Jan-Di is the least intelligent, pretty or charming .... in fact she's sloppy, clumsy, unattractive and sometimes idiotic ....

I like the comparison of Jane Austen's work to K-dramas, I think they make a good fit .... ....BUT .... in K-dramas , the poor girl is often Sloppy, Clumsy, Ungracious, Kind, Diligent, Homely-looking , yet Positive and Bright/Cheerful !
If they want to do a P&P version... the heroine MUST be Intelligent, Pretty and Charming !!!!.... (notice I never say beautiful, just pretty)

Part 1 is a bit better story w/ better villains, but imo, this part is more fun due to Nadech/Yaya

This music was very nice, much better than any other Lakorn I have yet seen....
---- Loved the the Japanese version Junko sings.... and also the Japanese Rock version of "Cross Love".

Person Rain
Rain is my BIGGEST bias. <3 Has anyone watched My Lovely Girl and all his dramas? What is his best drama?
--- I love "Full House" , I just watched it a 2nd time... his acting has improved since , but he did a good job.... and as always, very cute and appealing...
--- I also like "A Love to Kill".... very artistic show .... he's very HOT !!!
--- "Fugitive: Plan B"... I liked a lot ... and Rain was super comfortable, acting very natural..... (just wish he would have kept his tongue in his mouth more often...hehehe... u'll know when u watch it...lol...)

Thanks for info on "Lang Ya Bang"...just added it to PTW list.... the trailer looks much better than the synopsis....

as for Wallace and Zanilia ....exactly !...looks like fluff (but that's OK if it's well done).... and lack of chemistry... but wasn't she great in "Cuo Dian Yuan Yang" ??? .... she also looked better there...
