Watched till ep 17 and that's about all I could take of the drama. The main issue is the FL, she is so unrelatable and unlikable in this. I have seen her in some other shows and she's been fine but here she's just so stiff and has almost no facial expressions (and that's not just the times she's playing the switched souls parts). When I watch her act I can't understand at all why the ML has fallen for her except that she has a loving family? In contrast the ML has acted so well I didn't want to give up on the drama because of him, he played both brooding ML and cute female character so well. He was more likeable as a female than the FL herself!
Also the drama trying to pass off an entertainment journalist as serious biznesss is laughable. They report on pointless scandals and who is dating who (which is even what they discuss in the office meetings). I'm not sure how they expected us to sympathise with a job that is designed to make the life of artists hell most of the time. If she had been a news anchor or a journalists chasing corruption then that would have been something I could see her a defending, but (till ep 17) everyone calls her out on her job and they aren't wrong.
Does this drama romanticize sasaengs and stalking? Sasaengs make the lives of celebrities a nightmare and it also…
It totally does do that actually. The FL is not portrayed as a saseng but she comes pretty damn close. She is completely obsessed with the idol character and there's even a scene where (light spoiler) she gets attacked mistakenly by those fans and she forgives them, because she can see herself in them. The show basically portrays obsessive fangirling in a very sympathetic light- when in reality the amount that is shown is pretty unhealthy.
Tried watching this three times now and made it to ep 14 the third time but kept losing interest. Whilst the leads had great chemistry I was sooooooooooo uncomfortable with the fangirling aspect of the drama. I fan girl over bands/artists too (BTS<3) but to the point of going to the airport to take photos, saying they can't date because they "belong to the fans", attacking their supposed girlfriends and then portraying all that in a sympathetic light. NO. It's all saseng behavior. Just cause the show keeps trying to convince the viewers that- its just cute fangirling and just supporting the artists- doesn't make it the case. This toxic obsession with celebs and claiming them to only belong to the fans, to never have partners is out of hand. Spend that energy on saving the planet ya'll. /rant
Perfect for watching when you want something good but short. Some parts were better than 1 hour episodes. Not perfect but very good to watch for a break from long dramas. Both ML and FL acted well (although a bit stiff in the beginning). I totally felt the FL during the waitress scenes though, having worked in the service industry, it can really make you lose faith in humanity !
Very cute and worth watching. The cast was good and the story was light but pulled you in at the same time. The last episode was not as great as it could have been, but that's expected of j-dramas. Overall it makes you feel sweet and fluffy.
This is what a definition of a romcom drama should be. It was light yet interesting because of the writing and the characters. There was a lot of romance as well as comedy. The FL did an amazing job in her role and her comedic timing was great in this drama. The ML was ok too, his smiles were so deadly, but I found the SML to have more on screen charisma. The main leads had amazing chemistry and their scenes together were great. Although at times I found Dam's character to be a little unrealistic, it was forgivable for the plot.
But can we just talk about how the drama showed it was perfectly normal for a trio of friends 2 girls 1 guy and they all have a super healthy platonic friendship that is given a lot of air time. They weren't just supporting roles cast aside as soon as the relationship developed but were still friends there for each other. Also all the awards for Jae Jin for being the biggest sweetheart and a big no to toxic masculinity, I liked how he grew and stood up for himself, but didn't change himself to someone bitter. He knew exactly who he was and just grew stronger within his character.
This is such a cute drama, just cute fluff. The FL was a little weird and a bit too shouty, sometimes I couldn't understand why she overreacted so much but over all she wasn't terrible like some FL in rom coms are written to be. The ML was a total simp and is the main reason to watch this drama. I loved that he wasn't written as the stoic CEO but rather he was silly and comedic most of the time, even though in his serious moments he was quite charismatic as well. Because of the ML the chemistry between the leads is amazing. Totally for someone who is a rom com lover.
Side characters were all likeable and grow on you as the drama progresses. However I think the last 3 episodes were too jam packed with sudden storylines that could have been teased out earlier. I don't know why the writer waited till the end to add extra story for so many of the side characters. There was plenty of time in the middle of the drama. Poor planning.
Still worth watching for the ML and him being a complete simp over the FL.
Actually i watched ggs but not for this one.I love ggs. The big reason is their acting/chaemistry.If you said…
Oh that's on my to watch list, I'm waiting for it to finish airing! Just FYI this drama is still 7/10 for me cause that just my personal opinion (and maybe this genre of dramas isn't for me). But it's still an enjoyable watch.

You should watch this one, I think they focused more on the trials and difficulties of being misunderstood and growing in the midst of your struggles. Ofcourse its a c-dram so everything is a bit fluffier and exaggerated. However the romance was much better in GGS but I prefer the ML in this way more!
I just finished 20 and really wanted to smack FL upside the head. She doesn’t deserve ML and this so-called…
I don't know what happens that far since I dropped it but I can only imagine it got worse in terms of the mental health issues. You can't just cover everything up with fluff and pretend its all ok!
Unpopular opinion time: I really preferred this to Go Go Squid. It's hard to not compare the two dramas not because…
One thing I really didn't like about this drama was the physical violence the 2fml does to the 2ml. I mean in one episode they literally show she gives him a bruise and that's just played off as cute???? WTF. No. Their entire relationship was so uncomfortable to watch because she was always hitting him and hurting him. Not cool. Drama writers need to stop promoting physical violence as cute when done by a girl to a romantic interest.
Unpopular opinion time: I really preferred this to Go Go Squid. It's hard to not compare the two dramas not because they involve e-sports but because the general plot is quite similar. Not sure if the source material was the same but this one definitely is better imo. This is why:
- the main leads are better matched, overall have a healthier relationship. Although admittedly the main leads of GGS had better chemistry, this is attributed to the fact that the FL in GGS was much better than in this drama. Admittedly the FL is the weakest point of this drama and needs a lot of work in her emotional scenes. - The sismance is cute and adorable. - The ML is much more likeable and shown (not just told) to be a better leader. He is kind, feels an incredible sense of responsibility and the drama goes to great lengths to show how he brings out the best in people. The ML in GGS was always proclaimed to be a great leader and yeah he cared about the kids, but he was always just angry and grumpy. I could never figure out why people followed and believed in him as much as they did. I still can't figure out what the FL saw in him. - As a non-gamer I appreciated the visuals of the e-sports in this to GGS . I didn't like the competition scenes (which were too many) in GGS cause it was just watching random coding run across the screen. That and they way this drama described the game seemed like it required more strategy in comparison to just speed in GGS. - Technically, this drama was better shot, had a better set and has a much much much better editing team. - Although pointless patriotism exists in this drama as well, it isn't as repetitive and in your face as GGS. GGS was too much of RAH RAH CHINA BEST RAH RAH!!!
In conclusion worth watching, but if you are looking for romance it is slow and the chemistry isn't that amazing. However the ML and his story and development is worth watching.
Dang really? I'm right at episode 12 and a little annoyed at the second male lead tbh. Should I stop?
Ok I'm so glad I stopped watching when I did cause damn that would have annoyed the heck out of me. I would have then raged watched it. I wish drama writers would tackle this subjects more seriously. Mental health issues and almost-sexual-assault only in the plot for the hero to save the girl only for everything to be sugar sweet in the next 5 mins - are tropes that need to die by writers who don't know how to handle sensitive topics.
Currently watching, but there is something that keeps annoying me af. Why the hell the that bastard manager of…
SAME! I just posted above you before I read your comment. Why do drama writers think sexual assault can be brushed off so easily!? 2 beers and a piggy back ride and *poof* it's as if it never happened!
On episode 11 and Manager Zhao doesn't seem to even be facing the consequences of sexual assault??? I hate when writers uses SA as just a pointless plot point and have it be forgotten about and acted as if it has zero affect on the victim. Something so violent like what the FL experiences are just brushed away with 2 beers and a piggy back ride. GTFO.
