This drama was soooo good! This drama is the closest I have seen to Hidden Love and When I fly Towards You. In the sense of just no real drama, jealous scenes, enemies to lovers, happy deeply in love couple. So much affection and love, kisses etc. Just a rare gem. It was so fun and romantic.
I have to say I put off watching the last 2 episodes as I thought I would not like last episodes. But I really enjoyed both episodes. I understood the break she took from Woobin. It actually made sense. Two years is nothing if you really love someone.
Even with no contact I think it just strenghtened their relationship. Had she not chased her dream and let go she would have never realized how much she loved him. She also would have resented him for so many reasons. If you love something you let it go. If it ever loved you they will come back.
They just fell deeper in love. I also love she went back for him. It was so obvious. Especially when she asked if he had a gf. She was ready to stand by his side as an equal. He was able to process all of his pain over everything about her and his family dynamics on his own. He did not give up his dream for her. She was his dream and now she could share her dream with him.
I also liked that they still stayed in their hometown. The second leads were amazing. I love when the mom found out in paper lol I love the ending they gave his father. He got to see his sons movie. He even had his music live on in his sons movie dedicated to him. I realized that all the characters were finally living their dreams. Even the third couple came back together. The brother got an HEA in his own way. I realized that all the characters had dreams that came true for them. I think even Soobins dad was so awful partly because he never followed his dream either most likely. I think he was a product of a toxic family. He was jealous his son had a choice. He was an awful man.
I actually really loved the mom drove her car up like a boss and had such courage. I am so glad they chose that route with the dad. They gave it god. He already was outed as a bad man. As they said loss of reputation was worse than death to him. Jail does not solve all the problems. Sometimes just leaving is the smartest move.
One other note I also like that Hana and her mom did not pursue a family relationship with Soobin just because they were blood.. I think a door was left open for Soobin and Hana to become closer. But overall I loved Hana got her man and won her independence. And he had someone to help him through loding his, dad. But i loved that she was proud of both her kids and acknowledged him with pride as her son. They also did not really redeem her. But she became softer and not so selfish. She had even said she wanted to keep Soobin at first. She was going to have him. So whatever the father did made her give up the baby. I partially think he planned it because his wife could not have a baby and she was an easy target to get the kid from her. She probably wanted a baby so badly. Soobin was like a gift to her. Even though he cheated on her to get the baby.
The mom had such a great ending too. I love she got strong on her own.
The ending was not rushed. It really was not. They gave us everything. Even the returned scrunchie and engagement ring! If he had asked her to marry him at the airport it would not have ended well. Now they had no obstacles holding them back
I thought overall the ending was great! Overall the drama and OST were really good. . It is the best K drama I have seen in awhile. The Ending is what matters to me. This one was overall really good.
The original title of this drama always confused me, and it didn't truly click until she sent him that final letter. Because she was a princess with her own territory, she managed to bring peace and unite her people with his kingdom.
That letter wasn't a goodbye at all. It was a promise to honor their betrothal, framing her fallen empire as her dowry to him. She was essentially telling him to wait for her because she still belonged to him, while also asserting that they were finally equals now that she could offer a peaceful united kingdom as her dowry. He understood that she was still committing to their marriage and handing over a stable, peaceful realm built through their shared efforts. She knew he would still marry her, so she gave him that concrete promise.
Since she said that and he returned three years later, it is heavily implied that he intended to marry her and make her his Empress. We already know from the novel that they have a biological daughter. The main change in the show seems to be that he now has a backup male heir through the Shens. The drama leaves it to our imagination whether he eventually hands the throne to the Shens or if this version of the couple had a biological daughter together who becomes the first ruling Empress. It is left to our imagination if she went back to being a court official before marrying her.
novel was HEand as title suggestsshe became ruler too after getting betrothaland ruled together
I don't think she became Empress. I think he named Zhillis daughter as his royal heir at 3 years old. When royal heirs start training. She will be the Empress. That is why Zhilli was with her and she was playing by throne. Now Ying Gua is free to ask her to come back without the pressure to marry and have a royal heir. She can be a royal official and wife of his heart. Their will be no others. If ever found out he changed the laws and can still be together. He had to wait till he secured and heir to bring her back as she did not want to be forced into being Empress.
IDK which episode you are in but to be fair it’s been years since the accident and they’ve already discussed…
I agree because he was a brilliant doctor his EQ was high. But he even needed time when he realized that he had to think about if he wanted the relationship after he knew his love for her cost him so much.
Is Shens face going to become horrible scarred! I have been seeing online this will happen. So weird I actually wondered when he was fighting if his face could get injured. Being they are already together leads me to believe they will have a major obstacle. We know she will not care but he would. Oh please let it not be true!
Can we just talk about Shens fighting skills!!!! I thought he was impressive last episode rescuing his girl with the Emperor. But this episode when he saved all those people! How can his dad not be proud of him!! He even kicked Ling Yun feis BUTT!! But now he kicked the Tiger Roar baddies LYU BUTT!!! He is a force and a romantic!! I was squealing and kicking my heels so to speak like they were when they made it official!!! Lately the SL couples have been so good. Blossoms of Power had a good SL couple and the K drama Dream to you has a great SL couple! But Shen and his girl just take it to another level with the sweetness!!!

Agreed. but I still wanted him to know that item he gave her meant so much to her she got hit when she dropped it. Not sure otherwise why he would have so much guilt when it could be just a random accident. There has to be a way to relate his guilt to that type of accident. Just hearing she was in an accident after she chased after him how could they relate that to him. Not to bring up other dramas. But even in the Chinese Drama "Shine On Me" the ML was a Surgeon and somebody tricked him into believing he was going on a date with a girl he secrely liked. But he got into a car accident on the way. He injured his hand and can't be a doctor anymore. He had a hard time knowing not her fault but because he liked her the accident would not have happened. Also he told her as did others all he went through because of that accident. It actually strengthened their bond. Same idea with this. Not his fault over scrunchie and he did save her when she did it again. But never once did it come up why that was dejavu. She never told him I lost my dad while in Coma or after surgery. Both of them are so traumatized for different reasons. But for real healing not realistic they are not discussing it. Maybe when they shut the door we are supposed to be led to believe she told him everything. I would think him handing her a scrunchie would be a trigger.
because meng ting hui continues to try to investigate the poisonous pills made by ling yun fei's organization,…
So it was the actual antidote disguised as a fever reducer? Because they never said it was the antidote. But I think your right. Qing made the pills so he would have it
The flogging scene annoyed me as well. There's no excuse for that. Even if it's to be allowed to be with Meng…
If i had to guess I think they found out she was a Midvale Royal and by law he has to sentence her to death. She was in white. I am thinking he sentenced her to death as part of his plan to save her and be with her. Right before they killed her he probably begged for mercy and agreed to take the flogging to save her from the axe. That also did not look like a normal flogging stick? It looked like it would be more painful. Or they could have found them in intimate position and they wanted him to execute her for seducing him. But instead he took the flogging but said that if he endured the beating he could marry her and this proved his love to the court. Either way my guess is he took the flogging to prevent her from being executed and to be able to make her his Empress. In POJ there was a similar scene where he had to take 100 lashes from his family to beable to marry her legally and atone for marrying her without family permission.
He has more screentime in next arc. that’s just how it is. in earlier eps he had 50%+ more screentime than other…
I have high EQ so I do not normally respond to comments like yoours. People can agree to disagree and even add to comments things they might find interesting. If you did not like my response just ignore it. Not that I should answer but totally related. Anyway just my opinion and my thoughts of why you think he had more screen time and others might not think enough compared to his usual dramas. Anyway have a nice day. This is a drama and not real life this is is place to voice their opinions and theories respectfully etc. I do not get offended so easily.

He did have that injury and REALLY SUFFERED SHOOTING despite all the backlash he was getting after casting due to billing with her it seems like he fought to keep this particular role. I think it was because he was told ironically as an actor by the Grand Tutor his dad in other dramas that every actor had to play a king before he turned 30. These type of roles are hard to get as most of the time Emperors are not young or they get the throne at end of drama. As well as Emperors have many wives and concubines generally. That is not very romantic. So this story was very unique as he had no consorts or concubines and was a new young Emperor. From my understanding he said in an interview he heard about the part nad script playing a YOUNG Emperor and went after it. So i think he probably did not care as much about his overall screen time as long as he played an Emperor as the ML. There is a scene with him on reuters with him riding the horse into battle. You can just see the pain on his face from his injury. The horse was jerking him around.
It was dubbed. CZY posted an apology saying he REALLY tried everything to do it himself. He said he had promised…
He did say he started to do the dubbing. But only did a few days I believe. I would not be suprised if they kept what he dubbed. No way of knowing for sure. But i swear there are some scenes I would swear that is his voice!
