yeah the historical context is appreciated, but that should be an excuse for a messy plot imo.
It may come as a big surprise but not everyone thinks the same way. I gave 10 to Narco-Saints, 1 to Glory, which is pure trash morally and philosophically. Just my opinion, but I'm completely entitled to it.
Just an okay-ish drama to watch as a filler. I didn't get sucked in, but will keep watching in small doses from time to time. Mainly because of Bona, she's so fine. And cinematography. Woo Do Hwan is maybe overdoing the comedy a bit too much for my taste although he *is* a very good actor. Or maybe it's how his character is written. Simplistic comedy is not my forte and I'd have liked this more if the elementary comedy had been toned down. But comedy tastes are as varied as people in general (so no attacks pls). AOS is a good example of really funny parts mixed with adventure and suspense, imo.

She is getting better all the time. It's fantastic to watch her acting, she doesn't overdo anything. She has a very serene vibe, which I find enjoyable and soothing. Hope for more lead roles.
One of the key scenes was when Soo Yeon said, "for 2 hours I could be more than a mother and a worker". In those…
Yes, although it's still very conventionally patriachal, it manages to show womens struggles. I hadn't given that much thought to the ex-gf, thanks for that. Personally, if I were God, I'd remove the word cheating from the vocabulary altogether in order to make the world a happier place. But I guess that won't happen in my lifetime. Cheating being a major source of drama and breakups within the dramaworld everywhere, makes the thinking that it is wrong or even criminal like some people claim, too mainstream. But this drama reminded me about a s-korean book I read about a housewife who lost herself to the tedium of housework and child-rearing the point of loosing her mind.
Excellent, I don't know how I didn't watch this earlier. Not a boring moment. Really well written. The plot is interesting to the max, since these kinds of things (cruel brain experiments with unconsenting subjects, artificial prolonging of the life span) are based on real incidents in not so distant past. If you get interested in the experiments, there's a documentary Minds of Men in YT. And, 100+ year olds, Kissinger, Rockefellers and Rotchilds are very much still on top of the invisible influence pyramid.
I don't get why they don't make more serious historical dramas like this one especially considering how popular…
I agree. I don't really see the point of Joseon Attorney, for instance. Forbidden Marriage, Our Blooming Youth and Secret Romantic Guesthouse are okay to watch. but not serious. what's the point of having a historical setting when the plot has nothing to do with real history. The Red Sleeve was 11 on a scale of 1-10.
It's their own fault. If they didn't fall into the usual tropes with the overly clingy SML who can't get over…
Doo Hak is usually the one doing all the punching. The drama isn't very simple in terms of good guys versus bad guys. The genre is tragedy. Tragedies have been written since always.
There’s no point being mad at this writer, as they were misled by other should-be reliable sources. It comes…
There was zero incivility in the correction. Pls take a look at the comments section of Kill Boksoon and you'll get the gist of the usual style in MDL (aka wishing other commenters dead)
Exactly, just a little bit of realism would have helped there. Being a psycho and having fun killing people is…
I don't think there is, actually. Outside of dramas, in the real world. In any case, not around the world. Show me the statistics. 99 % of killings are done by people with weak impulse control. People who have substance and mental health issues, who have a poor family background. Not well-to-do members of the society. Drama is drama, but criminal psychopaths are a very rare species.
I actually thought this was really really good, sounds like I’m the minority based on all the posts below 🤣.…
One of the key scenes was when Soo Yeon said, "for 2 hours I could be more than a mother and a worker". In those moments she was able to be more of herself and explore more of what she could be. Personally, I expected the drama to be even more liberal since I'm all for freedom and not ownership. We are all different persons when meeting a new person, learning about new dimensions in ourselves. Yes, it can be quite emotional and mutually supporting and not just a superficial game as with Yoon Gi. The way people people are expected to restrict their exploration of themselves and of others and of the world is quite clear in the comments. But coming from another direction, those restrictions do not make much sense and that's why expected this to be more liberal. But there were good insights and definitely no glorification of cheating. Also I was stunned by how good Song Ji Hyo was in this drama.
