I feel bad for people who think the romance is unnecessary.
Some people have to deal with people having mental issues IRL so thanks for the sympathy. I can't really explain the uneasiness with the romance part but it's just a feeling some of us can't shake off. We laugh, we cry, with k-dramas like EAW and I love it, but I'd love it better without the romance.

In my eyes a 2nd season would be unnecessary, the story has been told. The last few eps weren't good. If she doesn't…
People assume that women have difficulties saying no - probably a problem for themselves and they assume other women would be similar. Law cases are of the essence and plenty more cases for me please.

I don't agree at all. That's just your opinion. The cases were the essence. All of them not equally interesting, but mostly delicate and difficult social topics handled in a very fine manner. No poor writing imo, writer deserves to sweep all the possible awards. There's plenty reasons for season 2. Coming up with new cases will not be difficult at all. Kang Tae Oh popularity is not a reason to not do another season. Don't ever think your opinion is the only right one, we're all different. Even though all the KTO fans will agree with you.

I love this drama but I think the law cases, Woo and the Hanbada crew are interesting and delightful enough without the romance thread. It's not the best thing in this drama, to me. Maybe I find it even slightly cringey. The difficulty with people with handicaps to experience love (incl physical) was handled in a very fine and discreet manner in one of the episodes. Don't kill me, I just see so much focus on KTO as Lee Junho. People are even mixing the fictional character Lee Junho with the real person Kang Tae Oh. To me, that's not very sane and I wish it wasn't happening. Even though Lee Junho is a well written character, the whole drama is good and there are plenty of equally good/exemplary male characters in other k-dramas. All of this "green light" rave - there are issues in society causing it, I know. KTO is a great actor as already seen in Run On and Tale of Nokdu. But somehow the rave around this one drama character is just overblown imo.

I am not finished with the drama and still watching it...but about a season 2 and the main female lead not being…
Totally agree. In addition, I don't think she said these things in reality. People are starting a feminist campaign where it's clearly not warranted. PEB has a difficult role but my work is difficult too. Any work is just work. And PEB has more choices available than most of us. She's not a victim of anything or anyone. People are starting to throw mud on EAW which is so precious. I'd like to see them just being grateful for getting a 2nd season. About point 2: It's good that you put the discussion around PEB in context. Really. There's a lot of unhappiness in Korea which leads to toxicity emerging in places which have nothing to do with the underlying reasons.

only pseudo intellectuals pretend there's no start and stop button in their remote controller. You have all the world's content at your fingertips in Netflix. K-dramas are not for you. You think winning major awards is just "some credibility"? Hardly.

What is up with the ratings...? (MDL ratings)This is one of the best current on air shows...
the competition atm is insane. If You Wish Upon Me, AoS, Woo, Cafe Minamdang, Today's Webtoon (if watching from Viki). The ratings may still rise, but that depends on whether it gets better towards the end. And people who watch after ending will not compare this to those other currently airing dramas (like I do).

How so?
Not the best and not the worst is an accurate sum-up imo. The current rating at 8.0. feels right to me.

i’ve watched more than half of the first episode and the fl seems so stiff, her acting itches me in this role.…
Yes the drama gets better. I also almost dropped it at 1st ep.

I almost dropped this at 1st episode. Now at 6th, it has kind of grown on me. It's very funny in places. But just weird-meant-to-be-funny in others. I wish they had had more screening and editing from someone more critical before releasing the drama. I feel sorry for SIG when he has to fool around as a shaman - such a waste of talent. But still, the drama is not too bad overall. The main characters' backstories are given (too) slowly. I think it would have made more sense and made this more gripping if they had introduced Nam Han Joon's and Gong Soo Cheol's history in the 1st episode already.

I wouldn't worry about the rating. Clearly this is not for everyone. Chocolate is similar, a beautiful and sad drama. Also palliative care setting. For me it's one of very best and most memorable k-dramas (watched twice). It's also only 8.1. in MDL.

can anyone tell anyother dramas like just between lovers- childhood trauma and healing like plot?
Chocolate would perhaps be the closest. The female lead there is also traumatized in a shopping mall crash as a kid (prob influenced by the same real life incident). It's a great underrated drama but of course not entirely similar.
