this is an absolutely wonderful drama but just leave out the last 5 mins.

My Journey to You was epic to me (a 9/10). They managed to create such a credible immersive fictional universe. The drama is rather dark and melancholic. No big gestures (although the battles were also pretty epic), just calm quiet pacing, quiet talking. A drama that spoke in whispers and poetry. I don't know about others, but it moved me so much. Every actor did immensely well - especially Zhang Linghe and Ryan Cheng but also Esther Yu, which I didn't expect (I was prejudiced against her but here they didn't seem to use dubbing) There was the one comedic relief character that didn't quite work but I'm ready ignore that due to character growth. The cinematoraphy was just perfect. The ending was clumsy and abrupt, but that was only the last 5 mins. Maybe they left the door open for a 2nd season (not a good idea).

A delightfully different drama. Queen Cho Yeo Jung is perfect in this type of drama. If you like this, watch Cheat On Me If You Can. It's absolutely hilarious.

I read that they will have this sequence. My expectation whilst watching Chao's unravelling was: great, Chao will go to a hospital, they will get to the root of his problems and he will get better. But the portrayal of the private psychiatric hospital was directly from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or worse. If you're sensitive or lack knowledge about real mental health care, maybe it's better to avoid this drama. None of the methods used (binding, isolation, electric shocks, noise torture) in those episodes are legal or in actual use today's healthcare. I was very irritated by the ridiculousness of the portrayal of those instutions which in reality are of course closely supervised by relevant authorities even if they're private like the one here.

I liked this until ep 10. Then it got too unrealistic. Too much screentime for bullies/bullying for my taste. The antagonists were cartoonishly bad, which is something that I'm tired of. I gave 7.0 for the effort. About the psychiatric hospital episodes, below.

Yes, she said they were more than friends, they were family. Aka a couple. It is shown pretty clearly e.g. in the last episode flashbacks.

that is true. He seems to be thinking "why am I here". He was good also in The Story of Kunning Palace. I know people disagree about what is good acting, but his acting here is not good and how could it be as the script and lines are ridiculous.
