It's interesting to see the differences in parental dynamics and how their influence affected their children.

You have the Ex's dad who is willing to do anything for his son even if his son can be a disappointment at times. As a result of this, even if the ex can be annoying at times, he doesn't do anything truly underhanded/ toxic to win the FL's approval and instead works with his dad to make the most out of his resources (even if his attempts are usually outdated/ misguided).

Then you have the Gus. The parents are supportive but clueless so both GXJ and her brother have to work hard on their own for most things while trying to make the most out of their parents' support.

And finally you have the frienemy who on her own right is a good student but is never appreciated by her abusive mum. As a result she just kept digging her own grave.

I do like the fact that the Ex seems to have given up on the FL now that it's obvious she's with Lin.

I almost feel bad for the actress since it's not her fault the writer messed up her character🙈

IMO they ruined her character by bringing her back in ep 11. They should have wrapped her story in ep 10 since she crossed the line/ she no longer has any reason to compete with the FL/ bro also told her that she shouldn't let her mum control her. It would have been a good send off for her character 😬

Regarding the ML's past life's dating history- it is abit ambiguous but tbf he's portrayed as a genius workaholic who only pursuits the best outcome.

He's abit like the ML from MMH only his regret that triggers his time travel has nothing to do with love and instead is connected to his friend's death.

The second chance in love happens by accident since his friend coincidentally is a mutual friend of the FL's family so he gets to meet the FL before she dates the other guy.



Him loving the FL in the first life isn't due to a trivial reason but because she had unintenionally comforted him during his lowest point back when he was a student (the friend's death). It doesn't seem like love at first sight but rather curiousity/ being grateful eventually turned into love (eventhough he didn't acknowledge his own feelings since there was no point)?

He doesn't really do anything since by the time he meets the FL, she already was dating the other guy. If anything, as much as he liked her, once they reunited years later at a supervisor- subordinate capacity, he was disappointed in her choices so he was quite tough on her at work in a misguided attempt to make her try to reach her potential (she literally called him a nightmare 😅)

As for potentially being single all his life/ lack of a serious dating life, based on his serious nature, it kind of makes sense why he isn't the type to have flings just for the sake of saying that he has dated? As with everything else in his life, he only pursues love if he feels it's worth it. He wasn't single because of the FL but rather because he didn't meet anyone better than her in his pov😅

(His parents also have a volatile relationship so that too could be a reason why he isn't keen on distrupting his organized life with love unless it was worth it)

TBF in SOOY, the FL went overboard with the ex/ first love in her first life to the point that she kept sacrificing everything while he just turned into a bum with only love to give. She'd already broken up with him before the time travel was triggered (eventhough the ex still kept begging her take him back).

In the new timeline both FL and ML are hard working and are part of the same elite team as well. They have a mutual understanding.

While their dating arc starts today onwards, all the previews available indicate that they'll be quite lovey dovey too (BUT not to a point where FL will sacrifice everything again- the ML doesn't like that kind of behaviour anyway and even chasticed her for it in her first life😊)

They were supposed to be the "twin" something [sorry can't recall the exact name]of the Xiao army right? That's what XJ's father said when he gave the swords to them. So they might go along with the lines of that may be?

Or XJ steps down/ gets a different title?

Now that he's injured, there's a teeny tiny chance he might revert back to his first life (specially if his injury is permanent enough to lose his place at the uni) 🫠

He Yan’s journey so far is so interesting in the fact that she was conditioned and coerced into letting go of her true self ever since she was a child. After everything she went through, her “mask” was taken away when she finally found a place for herself in her trapped identity.
Now after masquerading under different aliases, she’s finally allowed to show her true self - only she herself can’t quite decide who she is.

The fact that the former General Xiao always wanted her to fight alongside Xiao Jue to the point that he even technically gave them their first “couple’s gift” feels even more perfect knowing how XJ is the only one in her life who constantly tries to anchor He Yan to her true self☺️

It was a total miss ngl. Would have been better off if they just panned off the scene after showing the 2 of them lean towards the bed like most 13+ Kdramas.

I did love how Kanada or Mashiro didn’t bow down to the mum (unlike most toxic mum plots where one of the leads disappear mid episode after the family learns about their “secret”. So I guess this balances out the lack off 🔥?

About the PHD, Lin mentioned that he received a direct entry for his PhD program when GXQ didn't believe him when he came to tutor the Gus so he's probably younger than we think? 3-8 yrs may be?

I get what you mean. I love the domino effect on all the characters. If the writer's gole was tp partner the mean girl with the brother, they shouldn't have made her character act so extreme 🥲

Their scenes since ep 11 feel like filler honestly. So skippable since there's no contribution to the main plot (i mean the SML can be annoying but at least he triggers the ML to work harder to win the FL's heart so that's at least there)

I guess in a way the brother's empathy seems to be mellowing Shi Yun so unlike in the first timeline, there's more hope that history will not repeat itself? GXJ will not have to go through that kind of sabotage at least in 2025?
Also the brother seems to be motivated to work harder for Shi Yun's sake so GXJ doesn't need to worry about having a freeloader/ disappointment for a brother this time 🤔

Nope. It's kind of clear to the audience that the ML likes her (but it's not creepy because he first fell for her adult version). It's not like he is lusting after her- just naturally likes her for who she is.

He doesn't do anything though- just keeps encouraging her to focus on the right path since he knows one of the reasons why her life didn't go according to plan in the first timeline was because she was distracted by the SML and easily gives up. He doesn't know that she timetravelled too so some of his actions come out as being "big brother" bossy I guess?

Ep 15 - they will make it official as per the teaser

Ep 13- the FL kisses him, kind of confesses her feelings (drunk), and rejects his first life version at the same time. It doesn't really count as the beginning of their dating arc though since it's not the right time🙈
