Blossoms ever after ?

Warning: There are a lot of spoilers in this review so read at your own discretion XD!

The moment I realized that this drama was about to air I was super excited. I had read the manhwa a little bit over a year ago and I enjoyed it so I was waiting to see how it would look like when it was casted as a series.
Lets start slow haha!

~Cast/Acting~
I thought the cast was really well chosen and the acting for each character I found was close to what I could understand from the character's depiction in the manhua itself. The chemistry between the main couple is really good and even the friendships where really well portrayed.

~Story/Plot~
Okay this maybe a bit hard because I read the manhwa so I had high expectations on how much they would follow the story line. There are a lot of new scenes that were added to the drama that were definitely not in the manhwa like the camping scene with Taesung and Haebom and their friends from school and towards the end when Jia and Younghee somehow end up in this conversation about liking each other...? (i will come back to this). Another thing that bothered me when I was watching was how after Haebom accepts Taesung's feelings, they both graduate from high school and end up in university (but its a minor issue, it was still shot well and everything). I feel like because the series was to end in 8 episodes they had to rush and cut out some of the important interactions between Taesung and Haebom in the earlier parts of the story and even when they were in university. So in short, I compared the storyline to the manhwa a lot so its kinda short of my expectations but the scenes that were shot from the book itself were well done.
I was also confused about a couple of things in the last episode.
1. what is happening between Jiah and Younghee??? That was never in the manhwa for all of its 5 seasons and now when they are sitting and drinking in bar they admit feelings for each other...? really confused and this threw me off for the rest of the video
2. The ending between Haebom and Taesung when Haebom pulls out a pair of couple rings (which of course doesn't happen in the manwha XD). First of all was that a fast forward in time to after they left university and start working?

~Music~
The music was good and it fit well with the story and the placement of the music was nice. I haven't actually went and searched up the OSTs and listened to them but thats something I intend to do soon!
(maybe then I'll come back and add my thoughts to this section haha)

~Rewatch and conclusion~
Honestly its tough for me to say if I would rewatch this or not, I want to say yes and no at the same time. Yes because for a show it was well done, the actors and everything was okay, music was good too but I think what is holding me back was the fact that I had read the manhwa and so I had such a high expectation for the series. Since it kinda fell short of my expectations, I think it was hard for me to get into it and I think it would be hard for me to rewatch it. Who knows though... maybe I'll come back to it if I have free time just to relax you know. Would i recommend it to a friend? Yes (as long as they haven't read ithe book yet XD).

Overall I think if you haven't read the manhwa yet, you would enjoy this more than I did so watch the series first then read the manhwa ;)

I was really impressed with the performance of this drama. Yes even though the story was set in a university setting (which appears quite often in bl dramas) it was really well written focusing more on the character and their feelings. I'm glad it avoided most of the toxic tropes that are also quite often repeated in BL dramas and focused more on the characters their relationship and how that affected their friends and family and the development of those relationships. The cast was well chosen. I liked the chemistry between the main couple was well done and the relationships between the other characters (friends and family) was portrayed in a more healthy perspective (if I may say so). The music was carefully chosen and I really appreciate this. I feel like the OSTs were chosen to really match up well with the moods and emotions presented in the story so this really helped me to remain engaged with the storyline. I would definitely come back and rewatch this series and I would recommend it to other people because its not the typical story or plot that has been overused. This drama has really overcome all the negative tropes that have been used repeatedly in the BL film industry which I really appreciate.

What was this drama about...?????

So.... what exactly was the plot of this drama? Seems like I missed this memo for 12 hours of watching this show. Each episode felt like I was being dragged through mud... it was slow, mundane and not even close to being engaging.

~Story~
It got a 2/10 out of mercy.
I am being so honest right now... what is the plot of the story? I was so confused because it mostly seemed like actors on screen just talking. I think that the synopsis I read before watching this drama does not match what was portrayed in the show at all. The storyline is boring and very slow... I also found it to be very choppy so it was hard to understand what was happening at certain points of the story. Characters: way to static no development at all in the whole show.

~Acting/Cast~
I think the cast was okay but I would like to see them act in other dramas... i don't think it would be fair to judge them here because of this drama.

~Music~
A straight up 1, if I could give it a 0 it would be a 0. The music didn't add to the show it was just there because it had to be...? The music doesn't bring any feeling to me as the viewer so... its a no.

There is a very good chance I would probably never rewatch this drama again because I found it to be very unengaging so it won't be worth spending time rewatching something I didn't exactly enjoy.

a toucher of all the senses

This drama really pulled at my heart. The emotions and feelings of the characters, especially the main leads were so real that as the viewer I was also affected by the intensity of those emotions. It really brings out the rawmess of crossing the uncharted territory of love both the good parts and the hard parts together, not leaving one out or overportraying one over the other.

I honestly don't know where too start with this review. I just finished watching this show and i'm still very much stuck in the whirlpool of the story and the emotions....

I guess I'll start with the cast and crew first. Amazing job to both the main leads because they really drew me as the audience into the world of Ji Hyun and Jae Won. The crew and the overall shooting of the film really highlighted and had a huge emphasis on the story and I felt this especially with the lighting and close-ups that were done in the film. At times, the bleak and stark lighting seen in some of the episodes later on really portrayed the raw emotions of pain that Ji Hyun and Jae Won were feeling and the scenes that had a warmer and full lighting really emphasized the closeness and warmth of the characters. I thought this was brilliant because even though nothing was said by the characters during this scenes, the other cinematic elements really drove the story home to me as the viewer.

Music.... it was beautiful and as the undertone I found that it grounded and gave a good base for the rest of the story. I am very picky about the kinds of background music that i hear when i watch something because music as a cinematic element can really shape how the story progresses. The music i heard as I was watching spoke up and also really added flavour to other cinematic elements I mentioned before. I have never given music a 10/10 rating before but I feel like this show deserved it.

I would really rewatch this but to be honest I wish i could go back in time to relive the moment of watching this show for the first time. I was really caught up in the story and I honestly don't know what to say because that's how much I enjoyed it. 10/10 would definitely recommend this to a friend and without a doubt I bet that I will find myself rewatching this drama more than once or twice before this year ends! Its a master piece on a level of its own.

For me I think that Something in my Room will be one of my top favorite BL's dramas this year and will be a drama that I will probably go back and rewatch. I feel that the story line was developed beyond the usual BL dramas but strives to portray each character as who they are with their perfections and imperfections their own thoughts and feelings and this really added a lot to flow of the story in the show. It also showed how the impact of loss and grief along with misunderstandings and how that can really affect an individual and relationships.

~Music~
For me, when I watch any dramas or movies, one thing I keenly look out for is the where the background music is placed and does it match the current mood and environment of the scene that the music is backing up. One thing that bothers me is when music with lyrics is "placed" underneath scenes when people are talking and this drives me crazy because I can no longer focus on what the characters are saying but in this drama (from what I can remember) this drama really does an excellent job of avoiding that issue. I think that the music was used placed really, really well and the mixing was done perfectly and it really did a good job of enhancing certain emotions in different scenes. I think the scene that I really enjoyed because of the music was the scene when Phob leads Phat to the back of the house so they can look at the stars in the last episode, that background music really swept me off my chair. It was well mixed and really fit well into portraying that emotion between the two characters.

~The Characters~
Phob was played by Nut and I am so so thankful that he got a chance to really show his best in this series in comparison to his main role in Oxygen. He really does a good job of portraying Phob this time with all the raw emotions on this journey of recovering of memories and identity. I really hope to see him again in future series soon. Phat was played by Plan and I really enjoyed it and I hope to see him as well in future series.

Overall, the storyline and characters were thoroughly developed. I would definitely recommend this to some of my friends for sure and I know I will come and rewatch this drama before the end of this year.

Perhaps its not what you expect

Honestly I was kind of thrilled to hear that there would be a second season because i had watched the first season super late last year... i think i finished it just two months before season 2 would have been released and I was kind of hoping for something really enhance the story line.

I was disappointed in the predictability of the episodes because I was expecting there to be more in the story line but its so basic that after the first 4 episodes i wrote out what i think would happen for the rest of the show and I was right.

I think the story between Mark and Kit kind of fell apart after the first season. I was kinda hoping that they would both end up studying abroad or something interesting or engaging but nope they both end up being together in the end in Thailand especially after they separated for literally half of the show (6 episodes). Especially after season 1, i was hoping for more romance to be showed between the characters but i think separating the two characters ruined it.

Wayu and Thanu... okay personally i found this couple to be super boring.... i found myself skipping through those parts of the episodes more often than not. Here again the storyline kinda died off because I was hoping that it would kind of follow the foreshadows that were shown in the first season of Thanu being with Phai (Kit's younger brother) and I personally had hoped that would happen and I was hoping that Pha and Wayu would get back together after Wayu would understand why Pha left him and the story in the first couple of episodes seemed to be pointing that way but that was not the case... Personally, it seemed that that story between the two characters somehow had to be dragged on for 12 episodes which I found unengaging especially because it was super predictable.

I guess the only thing i liked were the juniors and the storyline involving them. I kinda liked the story between Tong and Pok and their misunderstanding was okay and I like how they came back together at the end but i felt that towards the end it was a bit rushed. I also liked the developing relationship between Sandee and Phai and i think it could have been developed more but it was okay as it was.

Overall, if you are watching S2 it may not be what you expect and honestly if I was asked which one i would rewatch, it would probably be S1 because even though the storyline was predictable the acting I think was still better than it was here.
Sorry for all the spoilers and I hope this helps you.!

I just finished this show and I really don't know what to say. Was it engaging? Yeah... sort of and it was kind of confusing along the way. I feel like the story kind of bland. It doesn't have a lot of meat to it. The storyline circles around and around and at the end of the 12th episode, I am so confused. What happened to the main couple? Did they split up or are they together...? In short, there are a lot of holes to the plot which causes you to make some assumptions along the way especially in a couple of the episodes towards the beginning, which I found to be super confusing. The cast was okay... I don't have much to say about them. Music was also okay but it felt like the music was there because it had to be. I wouldn't really rewatch the show personally but if you are watching it for the first time, its good to pass the time or have in the background but don't expect to get lots of exciting moments or contents from the show.
