IMHO, now that the surrounding mystery about the life of Beiyu has been fleshed out, I think the romance arc will start to be the focus of this drama.

In the novel, it's a different couple

Maybe some were expecting a light and fluffy romance, Cdramas are always full of fantasies and make believes so this is something new and unexpected given that the covering poster looks kinda bright. Even if the summary and tags describe this as a mystery- thriller, only few viewers bother to read.

That's a cultural thing, it's one of the reasons why I like this drama so much because it allows us to see something that may not be happening in our part of the world but very much present in a male-dominant/patriarchal society mostly in Asia. There's so much to learn here about parenting too so I will not be surprised if this drama will pick some awards moving forward due it's excellent content

If you see the post in Tiktok, some CPfans are a bit jealous especially fans of ZYR's drama WIFTY hahaha. In weibo, ZYR has been attacked early on because of his currently filming drama with CDL due to billing ranking lol. Petty fans are everywhere.

exactly, that's why I find this drama too bold to tackle some of the most controversial societal issues there. It came to me as a shock because there were quite a number of those kind of incidents.

I have seen 3 of Zhang Jing Yi's dramas, L&P, BIA and Zhang Hai Zhuan and none of these can be considered as fluffy. She is a serious actress, and even the drama she is currently filming with Song Wei Long is not fluffy, but I like all 3 of these because it suits my taste and the stories are interesting. Another thing, the plot is spelled out and the tag says mystery, romance. thriller, adapted from a web novel so I read the novel. I usually check the synopsis before watching , if it suits my taste then I go check the drama. If I don't like it, then I will not proceed but I will never bash, make hateful comments. We need to show a little respect to the actors and crew, I bet if you are working or studying you wouldn't feel good if anyone would do the same thing to you.

brace yourself, In the novel, she will get worse especially when she found out about Ming Sheng. Her paranoia will escalate to the max hahaha. No worries though, Qing Yu is brave enough to survive her hahaha

In the novel, they have a happy ending. Ming Sheng and Qing Yu got separated for 2 years because he went to NY to study medicine, afterwards Qing Yu followed him there. The extra chapters show that Ming Sheng became a heart surgeon, while Qing Yu put up a bookstore/library for youth where they can also go for counseling. They have 2 teenage kids, a boy and a girl. The boy complains that their parents are very much in love lol and that their dad values the tree so much saying that is where he and their mom first met.

He groomed her. They were 5 or 6 years apart in age. She fell deeply in love with him.

At the age of 12 she got pregnant, had an abortion, attempted suicide, she felt so dirty, cannot sleep at night, kept remember her first time with Jinrui. She ruined herself, became promiscuous, had lots of bf and contracted the disease. When she found out she is HIV positive she committed suicide. In the novel, Ming Sheng and Qing Yu found out Beiyu sought some pyschological help, the hospital had a recording of the consultation.
