The novel has very mature content and CY and MJ are not the usual pure people we see in Cdrama land hahaha that's why I'm super excited for this drama, besides ZJY's drama selection is to my liking. I don't go for the normal cliche type of romance drama so this drama really suits my taste

I've been waiting for Reborn too. Read the novel twice. I like her dramas because it's not the usual traffic genre. BIA so far is my favorite.

They are not siblings. They first met when He is 10 and she is 8yrs old. CY basically supported and raised MJ because when CY's father died, Mj's mom run away with the insurance money leaving MJ behind. CY tried to drive her away because he is living a rebellious life and find her a burden to him. Besides how can he raise her at such a young age. They are 2 yrs apart in age. He bullied her, scare her with friends, asked her to leave and even left her in a train station but still worries about her so he returned to pick her up again. They lived in an apartment with 2 rooms, but right before she enters university, at the age of 18 and he at 20 they began to have an intimate relationship. When she got into a good university, he gave her some money but after awhile CY can no longer be contacted. 6 years later, she returned and that's where the story starts. Mind you, MJ is a bad ass girl too, she can easily manipulate CY lol. Read the novel, the tension between CY and MJ is too good.

No it's not a horrible book otherwise CNetz will not be this excited for this drama.... it has some very mature content though but for sure they'll make lots of changes because it will definitely not pass censorship. Since L&P, I have been following closely Zhang Jingyi's drama and have watched 3... L&P, BIA and Zang Hai Zhuan all are to my liking. I've read the novel Reborn and I like it a lot. Read Wild Dog Bones and also like it.

The story is far better because here Miao Jing is a bit of a bad ass hahaha. Love this character so much

Agree. So many Kdramas with 10/10 ratings and even being reviewed with high ratings despite only 2 or 3 episodes being aired

I was also told the same thing but still gave it a 10 because it truly deserves such rating. If I can give a rating on other dramas that are not as good as this, why should I hold back then. Just me saying though.

Correction read not watched hahahaha. Anyway, I read the novel, and IMHO maybe the production team may have made some changes because of how strict censorship is in China. I wish these changes are not that much so much so that the message of the novel especially in a male dominant country like some parts of Asia will not be diluted. It's so relevant and happening in our society nowadays.

Thanks for the reco, read a lot of good reviews about The Prisoner of Beauty. Glad that it's in Netflix. I subscribed to Youku just for Zang Hai Zhuan ., kinda new to this subscription thing except for Netflix but I think I made an erroneous subscription to Iqiyi because of the drama Reborn (Huanyu) since it's not it in their upcoming drama list.

Well for me, like most of the comments in weibo, tiktok and twitter...I can also feel their chemistry but not the really passionate romantic type because they have very little romantic interactions but it's still there, I find them cute together. Nothing like the L&P type of chemistry

I follow her dramas after L&P cause I find them all to my liking...not the too cliche super sweet type of romance that usually is the favorite of most viewers. Her choices are always good like BIA, it's more of a family-focused drama. Her role in L&P may not suit everyone's taste cause she portrayed a kind of obsessive love stricken character. So far, my favorite role for her is Xiang An Tu....but I'm also looking forward to her role as Miao Jing the scheming type lol
