Something tells me this won’t be made. Anyhoo I really hope Lusi and Ryan work together again. Both have been…
I might be wrong, but it is usually because of the same management company. Like when Bai Lu's dramas have usually at least several supporting characters played by actors she played with before. I heard it's due to her management company being involved in the production and using it to get some spots for their artists. It is not as heavy as when in the 1930s and 1940s films in USA were made by studios, which had actors signed exclusively to them, so it was difficult to have pairing of actors signed elsewhere, but depending on their part in the production, it is similar.
Plus, there is also the image their teams want the actors to have. Tiger and Rose is not a drama often mentioned as a previous role in the articles about Ding Yu Xi. If they want to highlight his different roles to show a different image than in this one, they might shy away from being associated with Zhao Lu Si again. I remember the Intense Love drama aired the same year and back then already, his team was criticised by fans for prioritizing Intense Love.
That being said, I have a soft spot for this drama, so I'd welcome it.
Thank you. And thank God. I hope she gets to throw in his face that she never wanted to be his wife either. His confidence in himself is even more annoying than he is.
Never have it, except for me, it isn't because of any effort. I just find the qualities of SLs that make people fall for them annoying or even hateful.
They're always the ones who start to like the FL first, but are playing all subtle and get the girl be stolen by the ML right in front of their eyes. And then they're all "I liked her first", "You don't deserve her, because..." etc. Their entitlement about how they have some kind of dibs makes my blood boil. But it's always their own fault they missed their chance when they had it and I only cheer for the FLs that they stopped waiting (in dramas, where the FL actually starts with liking the SML first, but moves on, when he either pretends not to like her back for some stupid noble reason or he is the only one not seeing it despite the FL being pretty obvious - those are like how much? 80 % or more?). Those dramas, where the SL never had a chance are rare and I still can't blame the FL. They always make it about themselves, but the point is always about whether you like a person or not.
I'm not saying there are no exceptions, but I usually avoid those. Like when watching the Kind the Land, I sensed the SL might get the girl (which is the exception of SL getting the FL), I waited for it to finish airing, confirmed and dropped it. The SL was so painfully uninteresting and overall bland, I didn't have the patience to watch his love story. And it was a shame, I always look forward to historical dramas from different era than Joseon (I mean, why the fixation with those 500 years, when their history is much richer? And with costumes more flattering.), but they rarely deliver.
I did have this issue with the Heirs. BUT. It was one of my earliest dramas, I still had hope. And honestly, it is not a typical K-drama. It was trying to be something else. And I knew how this would end, I never hoped otherwise. But I couldn't help but think if it was an American drama, the main leads would circle around each other for a season or 2, until they realised it is unsustainable relationship and she would move on and inevitable ended up with the SL. The whole romantic plot was so stupid... They were highschoolers for god's sake. It was so dumb, how much effort was put into breaking them up and how everyone acted as if it was marriage level relationship. And there was a guy who asked his father if HE has the nerve meddling in his relationship. And that was it.
The former. There are slight overlaps, of course. When do you plan to start the drama?
What drama has none? I can certainly tell from the start it's different, but Netflix seems to be involved more than just buying broadcasting rights, so no wonder. Scent of time was produced by HBO if I remember correctly, the leads never even kissed or admitted liking each other and I still couldn't stop watching one episode after another. I do not exactly worship the style of either of these companies, but if you they so rarely touch C-dramas, the one different needle in a haystack is a refreshing change.

That was quick. Started with the first episode today. Was looking for a replacement when finishing a different drama and found persuasive videos on YT. Looks good so far.
Can someone clarify? Is it the kind of drama, where there are for example 10 episodes focused on one sister and her story arc, the others are side characters and when her storyline comes to a conclusion after several episodes, another sister becomes a main and so on? Or the storylines work in parallel? Both is good, I just need to know what to expect, how to plan the watching etc.
I PRAYYYYYY this will be more like TTEOM than TLI. I couldn’t stand all the misunderstandings in the latter
Misunderstanding is like bread and butter for these dramas. I could live with it. The problem of the Last Immortal was the constant deux ex machina. They kept bringing up new miracle solutions constantly. If you have xianxia, sure, thwre is magic, but there should be some rules to it. In that drama, we were given no even rough outline of the rules, but the drama acted as we were supposed to know them, but then were immediately broken by some miracle artefact no one thought to use before or by set of events that wouldn't happen ever before. No matter what happened to character, their life was saved depending on how it suited the writers, not depending whether it made sense. It was constant big tragedy, let's cry, but hey, we do have a solution after all, then lesser tragedy, the character is not that important, let's leave them dead to give proper motivation, then big tragedy again, proper cry and a save again we could have used the last time, but we didn't because we acted like it's impossible. 🙄
so hyped, i loved her in kunning palace. i am not familiar with ao rui peng. and dai lu wa princess from lost…
I can recommend Wrong carriage, right groom if you want to get acquainted beforehand. I've seen him in one more drama, but that one was little overcomplicated and his partner was not that good.
I just saw a video on Youtube that says it premieres Dec 28th. They didn't say where they got it, but it's an overview of dramas set to premiere in the last quarter and they seemed pretty sure.
When I was 16, you could barely find a girl in my class who dated another high schooler. Most dated guys around…
I'm not talking about children. Girls and boys mature in different age. When I was highschooler, the girls all looked just like adults, while boys looked 11. Visual age between teenagers of the same age was in years. Boys our age weren't even considered. There is really very little difference between girl of 18 and 16. I also think not all laws regarding this area are OK in my country, but just because Americans are oversensitive doesn't mean the whole world has to be.
That is the same reason, why I really hate fans complaining about age difference of drama leads. When actors over 40 refuse to play couples with women their age and can only have counterparts in their 20s, I have my opinion as well. I just don't find them perverts, but pompous jerks, who should look into mirror with honest eyes from time to time. But when child actresses reach a certain age, they act for years and have the ability to ace a leading role in a big drama, they shouldn't be forced to not work or get stuck with child version roles and high school dramas (which are basically all the same), just because male actors their age simply can't pull off an adult character yet. As long as they're made comfortable on the set and not forced into anything they shouldn't be and don't want, you're taking their right to choose for themselves for the sake of some hypocritical morality.
female lead in real life was 16 when they filmed this while male lead was 22 how was that okay
When I was 16, you could barely find a girl in my class who dated another high schooler. Most dated guys around 20, some older, some even practically lived with their boyfriends. 21st century is waiting for you.

That's it for me, because this is seriously OOT.
