No worries. I love detailed replies. BWS recommended Rest by Lee Mujin, the only song that I loved from CD and still sometimes listen to. I skipped the concert parts too on my first watch, LOL. I admit that I am not a die hard fan of the soundtrack. However, the songs are pleasant to listen to and enhance the scenes. I anyways am not much into soft ballads or pop. Exceptions, however, do exist. I really like Spring Snow but the incorrect syntax of the English lyrics diminishes my enjoyment. I don't claim absolute prowess over languages. However, if I am aware of bad grammar and syntax, I am unable to enjoy it fully. I must say that I appreciate that the music production team did not autotune the fudge out of BWS's singing voice. It helps that he naturally seems to have a nice sound and can carry on in tune and he put in the hard work.

I, too, have been left disappointed by reading too much into scenes. I totally get you. 😄

IKR?! The direction and execution was incredible, something I remind myself not to expect in a romcom.

Oh. Okay. After the reveal in E02, I had re-watched the first episode when I noticed he was the only one who didn't clap when the host chirpily declared that she had won a pair of running shoes. He looked nervous and in anticipation of something which I had earlier chalked up to the stereotypical moody, brooding and cold KDrama lead.
I felt his delivery was off too but I assumed that he thought it's funny in a morbid way that he wanted to die while his fans felt thankful towards him for existing. Then I re-watched the trailer after E02 and realised that they had hinted at it all along.

My rough patch is far from over... However, fictional characters winning at life does provide a little bit of comfort. Hang in there. Hugs! 🥰 I simply cannot bring myself to like KPop for a variety of reasons. Usually, if I do end up liking a Korean song, it usually is underrated af. LOL. No one else seems to talk about it. During Castaway Diva's airing, everyone was going gaga over the soundtrack. I wasn't except for one song. I enjoyed the story to bits but the songs felt cringe. I am not dissing anybody who loved it. Different strokes for different folks. The one song I really loved wasn't sung by PEB. Interestingly, I got randomly suggested an earlier interview of BWS on YouTube, before LR blew up the way it did, wherein he was asked what song he had been listening to recently and he answered that he liked the song that I loved from CD! I was like, this man has good taste. 🤣

That first episode, and Zhao modulating her voice in the trailer eeked me out big time. I thought I was the rare unicorn who could not stomach it, and hence, did not watch it at all. The way it was flimed with romantic lighting and music, goodness! I guess they wanted to show a young girl's crush on a much older boy which is quite probable in real life, but the execution was woefully lacking. I usually don't have problems with edgy premises as long as it is not romanticised. But, HL made me feel creeped out. Young Chinese girls in real life don't speak that way.

Oh, I misunderstood you. Actually, 18 is legal age in my country but there are some things one is prohibited from doing till s/he is 25. But, yeah, at 18 years, you are pretty much a kid. Being 19 and 23 respectively is better as the younger one atleast has a year of adulting down.

Actually, I wasn't paying full attention at the beginning to be honest. Like I said, I was in a rough phase and didn't really care. Also, I am not into KPop. At first, I continued because of the first few minutes which seemed to suggest a deeper story than just a fan trying to save her idol. However, on rewatching, his words and actions take on an entirely different meaning.

Yes! I love dry/ macabre humour and situational comedy. I am always channelling my inner Chandler Bing, my favourite in FRIENDS, if not verbally then mentally. Love old British comedy. Intelligent comedy is rare nowadays. I do understand your feelings about this particular couple. I am quite sure that had other actors been playing these roles, I'd be rolling my eyes too. So, it's quite probable that I am speaking from a place of personal bias.
I must say I liked how you argued about why you didn't like the series much. Some trolls here can be so uncivil and swear at others trying to reason with them. I encountered such a disrespectful idiot myself some days ago. My stance is one can call a show trash, but doesn't have the right to bash others no matter how bad they believe the show is. I didn't want to come on too strong since MDL has a diverse base of users. I, myself, hate toilet humour and most sexual innuendoes with a passion and find such humour very crude. KDrama humour usually doesn't appeal to me because a lot of it is based on toilet humour and drunk rants which come across as crass and silly. However, the life-size anime girl cut out and "unicorn" scenes made me cackle and were actually done well. I, too, prefer dramas to be over by the 10th episode, LOL. In this particular case, 16 episodes feels justified. Similar to you, Im Geum's knight in shining armour did nothing for me. However, Hyun Ju being Sol's sister-in-law is quite appealing to me. In the very first episode, we see how strong their friendship is that she bought a car to taxi her around. I also like Im Geum, you see him coming home exhausted, yet never ranting. He cares an awful amount about his sister and the rest of the family evident from that particular scene. That's why I think Hyun Ju and Geum fit together. Also, the actress playing Hyun Ju is spectacular at both comic and dramatic roles.

Oh, yes! It is a beautiful song. One of my favourites.

Yes! I don't quite like bathroom humour. This particular scene doesn't really tie to anything. However, there is a parallel of sorts with one family helping out the other. I like the actress playing Hyun Jae so I don't mind those scenes.

Ooh. I know of a Hindi song. Sounds beautiful. The lyrics aren't exactly of a romantic nature. However, it matches Sun Jae's POV regarding Sol. Choo Lo by The Local Train.

I love how Sun Jae in the current timeline keeps ineptly trying to charm Sol. And she is like a strict matron making an errant puppy toe the line. 🐶 Also, he certainly dislikes 🐴s with a passion after his impromptu meeting with Sol. 😆
