I don't think he's a bad person. I'd say he lacks basic street smarts and doesn't have much self awareness. He's a hella lot of growing up to do. With enough time, Lu Xin may be able to whip him into shape.
Yeah, exactly! Her story became even funnier once she confronted him. 🤣 If only she could write a tell all book for the benefit of his disciples while she's his guest, LMAO.
I have loved Rain Lu's performance in everything I have ever seen her in. 😬 I can't hardly wait for the angst to kick in. Some of the episodes felt a little slow in the middle, so I am looking forward to all hell breaking loose. 😅
No worries! 😊 Maybe they are all feigning ignorance since some things are best left unsaid. One of the things that I like about this show is that the supporting characters are utilised well enough and are not just means to prop up the story.
P. S. : Rain Lu was phenomenal in episode 22. Didn't expect anything less.
You will have to make peace with her shooting arrows in close combat. The first time I witnessed it, I was like…
Thank you for your reply. 😊 For me personally, it doesn't translate well in live action. Tbh, I don't like it in games either. I don't mind fantastical fight scenes but I should be able to buy into the realism of scenes in the universe in which it's set. I know, it sounds contrary, however, this is just how I feel about this particular aspect of SL.
IKR?! BZ's wife kills herself and the guy is like, oh well... all in a day's work. *shrugs* Whereas, Wei Xiao, played by the same actor who plays Ouyang Jun here, seemed to have more expressions even while remaining absolutely stoic, LMAO.
I love Rain Lu too. She was great in “Perfect Mismatch”.
She's been great in everything I have ever watched her in. I cannot remember a single instance wherein she didn't have chemistry with her co-actors. Her characters always seem to have an underlying sense of strength.
Ouyang Jun's devastation and ugly crying after Qiao'er sacrifices herself is what I expected from Bi Zhi in TPOB. Episode 22 did so many things right. Rain Lu, as always, didn't disappoint. I am so sorry to see her character die.
Agreed. I think I just liked the mortal arc a little more because it was a lot fluffier than the demon realm arc.…
Tbh, I love grey, moody and melancholic settings. The reason why I didn't quite like the demon arc was because it overstayed its welcome. It felt disjointed because it just didn't flow well. The plot device of her amnesia was not used well. Meanwhile, the mortal realm arc seemed to progress at breakneck speed. All the loose ends were not tied up.
Yes!!! I also remembered them in that scene when Sima Jiao told Ting Yan that he would rather keep all his memories…
Glad to know I wasn't the only one! I usually don't draw parallels but LR popped into my mind immediately after that scene. I don't like many KDramas, but LR occupies a special place in my 💗.
