I really want to know, out of curiosity, why are the people here considering her "toxic".She let go of Yeon Su,…
Exactly my sentiments! I don't get the hate for her character at all. KDramas usually have the holier than thou FLs. Perhaps, that's why viewers of mostly KDramas are bewildered.
lol does she have superpowers? whats with the lightning and witch(???) walk and talking to the dead grandpa and…
The drama has a sense of surrealism. Absolutely love this about the drama. Btw, she just let nature do its work. As children, and vile ones as that, her bullies didn't understand any better. Kudos to the little munchkin playing KH's younger self. It would not have had the same effect if not acted out properly.
New to the page but I'm seeing a lot of comments already saying that the ratings dropped significantly...So what's…
Most people are bewildered by the sombre and artsy/indie feel of the drama. For me, it's right up my alley. 😁 Also, the FL does not give two flying Fs about nasty people. Love her and her gang. Her friends seem like they have been so for years. This drama feels really organic.
This is more grounded and sombre in tone, I didn't really enjoy the original. This is the second time that I like…
A mix of genres, here you go. 😁 Japanese: Silent Always (I found the remake way superior than the Korean original which I didn't particularly care for.) Perfect World the drama (Frustrating choices by characters, but I still like it a lot.) Orange Days Osozaki no Himawari (I love it, so rewatchable... Atleast for me; it also has one of my favourite romances.) Death Note Todome no Kiss (I loved it, idk if you will...) Soredemo, Ikite Yuku (Heartbreaking but awesome) Tatta no Hitotsu no Koi (Romance melodrama) Takane to Hana (Bonkers but lovely) Pick any KimuTaku romance!
Taiwanese: Someday or One Day... Movie Version, too... Secrets in the Hot Spring (It's hilarious. It's so silly that it's good) Lost Romance (It's a parody of the trashiest romance novels, not very kid appropriate) Brave to Love (loose adaptation of Asunaro Hakusho)
CDramas (Most are my comfort watches.) Dine with Love Small Town Stories Where the Lost Ones Go (I don't know, I really love it. Fan Shi Qi is so criminally underrated, so is Song Yan Fei.) Angels Fall Sometimes (Lin Yi's finest performance till date. It's a remake of an equally hard hitting JDrama.) Make a Wish (I related so hard with the ML.) Please be My Family (Marriage of convenience with adorable kids involved.) See You Tomorrow Flourish in Time Time and Him are Just Right Definitely, Not Today (The ML is so me! It's hilarious.) The Left Ear Better Days (The novel is hauntingly lovely as well.) Take My Brother Away drama (was my first ever Mandarin language show, it was really nice.) Unrequited Love (the 24 episode one, I adore the actress, it's a shame she doesn't have leading roles)
Thai: Teacher's Diary... I love this one. You are My Destiny (Both Thai and Chinese remakes of the Taiwanese original.) To the Moon and Back My Forever Sunshine
This is more grounded and sombre in tone, I didn't really enjoy the original. This is the second time that I like…
Yes, I thought so too at first. 🙈 The Thai one is slapstick-y, yet, I don't know why I really enjoyed the beats of the story. Maybe because of how effortless the chemistry of the main leads is. Check out the J Remake of Nevertheless. The ML is a seasoned actor. JDramas are usually my most favourite.
When she is there (when the father died) i had a feeling fu ling is bai xi. That's jst my guess
I also feel that the governor's act of adopting CZ, an Eternal orphan to boot, was not a random act of kindness. Something that even CZ may not be aware about.
I have a theory why Fu Ling is so determined to save Chong Zhao. I have been thinking this for a while. She decides not to harm CZ because of a feeling... What if they have met before as children? As Bai Xi and the young son of the bun stall owners? Also, a viewer suggested his master breaking into his prison to be an illusion... What if she remembers everything now? What if those Eternals, too, were illusions? Afterall, CZ is injured and on her turf. Also, he isn't that powerful to begin with and she is a teeny bit in love with him. Also, if she is indeed Bai Xi, what if she has met her father before? Bai Shuo's father did refuse to acknowledge the existence of the supernatural in their town for years. He had wanted to protect his remaining daughter. It was only when his hand was forced that the governor came clean. What if the villian struck a deal with him? Bai Xi's life in exchange of taking her away forever? What if Fu Ling's memories were wiped away thereafter? And meeting CZ triggered those memories? I have a sneaking suspicion that the governor's act of suicide as an offering to the Gods may have been agreed upon between Fu Ling and him a la HP's Dumbledore and Snape. She's cruel, yet, she seems to have plans of her own and trying to play her master in the limited way she can. Edit: Seems like CZ's master did indeed break into his holding cell.

Sure! I generally end up liking darker dramas. Hence, the tone of this one appeals to me more. However, this is not to say I don't enjoy KDramas. In my previous comment, I was thinking of the Thai remake of Full House. I just wasn't able to get into the Korean one. Do you want some random recommendations as well?
I was expecting him to embrace her (because in dramaland, the parent is always forgiven) and was prematurely rolling…
Yeah, that point had also struck me that he might if only to save face in public. However, his response was not only justified but also hinted at his innate integrity.
